Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 111: Chapter 94: Pseudo-Emperor Level

”Whew...”

Finally, after some time, all the robots were eliminated.

At least, that was how it appeared on the surface.

As for how many had escaped into the reservoir, that was anyone’s guess.

Seeing this, Chu Xiran could only put her hands on her hips and sigh helplessly.

”The immediate crisis has been dealt with, but it doesn’t look like the situation has improved much...” Chujiang River said.

He frowned, his brows knitting together as he stared at the slowly calming surface of the water.

SPLASH~!

Just then, something suddenly broke the surface of the water.

The Strong Crocodile emerged from the water.

”Did you find out anything?” Zhu Bingqing asked immediately upon seeing the Strong Crocodile return.

”Gurgle...” In response, the Strong Crocodile shook its head in a human-like fashion.

Although it couldn’t communicate normally with Zhu Bingqing, as its Beast Master, she could still perceive some of its thoughts.

”No. With its abilities, it couldn’t get near the core area. It doesn’t know what’s happening at the bottom of the reservoir!” Zhu Bingqing translated parts of the Strong Crocodile’s meaning through their Soul Contract, her expression helpless.

”We can’t just sit here and wait to die!” Zhu Guanyu’s voice was firm and resonant.

As he spoke, his burning gaze fixed on the water’s surface.

Hearing this, Chujiang River’s brow furrowed.

Zhu Guanyu had a point, but how could he convince the two elders, Mu Qianqian and Zhao Xiwei, to risk their lives for the sake of their three families?

If those two didn’t go into the water, could the three of them really turn the tide on their own?

Chujiang River had absolutely no confidence in that.

He knew exactly what the three of them were—and weren’t—capable of.

The reservoir was now swarming with robots.

There were at least ten Dominator Level ones alone.

Going into the water blindly, with no information whatsoever, would be no different from serving themselves up on a platter.

”Don’t do anything rash...” Chujiang River warned.

To be honest, he was also trapped in a state of distress and indecision.

He had to stop them.

But if he did, he had no other solution to offer.

But soon, his troubled mood was shattered!

Because just as the words left his mouth, the surface of the reservoir suddenly began to ripple.

It was as if some terrifying, suppressed creature was about to break free from its cage.

BOOM~!

SPLASH~!

Immediately after, a deafening explosion erupted!

The explosion sent a plume of water dozens of meters into the air!

”What is that monster!” Niu Fenjin couldn’t help but cry out in terror as he watched the ferocious silhouette appear within the massive plume of water.

”BEEP BEEP BEEP...”

At the same time, a series of urgent beeps sounded from Zhao Xiwei’s waist.

”The Energy is almost at the Emperor Level!” Zhao Xiwei pulled out the Energy Detector clipped to her waist. After reading the information on its display, a rare, solemn expression appeared on her face.

”That thing must have used the Mechanical Desecration Association’s unique contract Secret Technique to perform a cross-Level contract,” Mu Qianqian said, equally astonished.

’This was supposed to be a normal special support mission, yet we’ve run into a Pet Beast of this caliber.’

She continued her analysis aloud. ”Given its state, its Energy has probably just barely reached the Emperor Level. Its physical body definitely can’t match that strength. At best, it can only be considered a Pseudo-Emperor Level.”

”A sound analysis.”

After hearing Mu Qianqian’s analysis, Zhao Xiwei chuckled and pointed at the behemoth in the spray. ”So, can you handle it?”

”I can’t!” Mu Qianqian also looked at the behemoth, then shook her head decisively.

”...” Hearing this, Zhao Xiwei was instantly speechless.

’If you can’t even fight it, what’s the point of analyzing it so perfectly?!’

”Sixth Uncle, what do we do?” Chu Xiran had naturally heard Mu Qianqian’s analysis as well, and she turned her gaze to her family’s elder—Chujiang River.

”I don’t know.” A bitter smile appeared on Chujiang River’s face.

Clearly, this situation had far exceeded their expectations.

It had also gone far beyond what they were capable of handling.

”Holy crap, that thing is ugly!” As the spray of water gradually subsided, the appearance of the giant silhouette was completely revealed. Niu Fenjin couldn’t help but blurt this out upon seeing the behemoth’s true form.

”I have to agree, it’s not exactly a looker!” Niu Aihua nodded in agreement.

After the water receded, the true form of the giant silhouette was revealed to be a colossus about fifty meters tall!

You could call it a robot, but that was a judgment based only on its general shape.

More than a robot, it looked like a stitched-together monstrosity, cobbled together from all sorts of metals and mechanical components.

Calling it ugly wasn’t an exaggeration in the slightest!

”...” Hearing Niu Fenjin and Niu Aihua’s commentary, Chu Xiran felt a vein pop on her forehead.

’Like aunt, like nephew. Both are just as unreliable.’

’Who cares what the enemy looks like at a time like this? I can’t tell if they’re just thick-skinned or completely clueless.’

”Elder Niu, are we just going to stand here and watch it do whatever it wants?” Chu Xiran asked Niu Aihua, indignant.

”Of course we can’t just stand here and watch. We have to watch from a safe distance, otherwise... it could be very dangerous!” Niu Aihua looked at Chu Xiran, nodded, and then said with a perfectly straight face.

Hearing this, Chu Xiran staggered, nearly falling over.

”The Mechanical Desecration Association may have a Secret Technique to forcibly contract a Mechanical Pet Beast across Levels, but there are definitely Level restrictions.”

”At the Emperor Level, even with a Secret Technique, a contract isn’t that easy to form.”

”My guess is that this thing is actually undergoing a burst of over-the-limit Potential. A state like this definitely can’t last long.”

”Once that state wears off, it’ll be a lamb to the slaughter!” Zhu Guanyu analyzed objectively.

He said it was an objective analysis, but in reality, he was just trying to reassure himself.

Everyone knew that the Mechanical Desecration Association must have a specific goal for launching an attack on this scale.

Its extreme burst state wouldn’t last long, true, but that short amount of time was enough for it to accomplish a great deal.

”Hahaha... Not bad, not bad at all...”

”This body is more than enough for me to have some fun!” Xuanwu’s voice issued from the mouth of the giant mechanical monstrosity.

His voice was filled with a frenzied, tyrannical rage.

Before his words had even faded, he launched his attack.

A thick beam of energy shot straight out.

PFFT!

”AWOOO~!”

The energy beam shot up, piercing straight through the Wolf Vulture in mid-air.

Zhao Xiwei’s Wolf Vulture was no ordinary one; it was a mutated variant.

Otherwise, its Potential would never have reached High-level Dominator.

But against a Pseudo-Emperor Level robot, it was still no match.

With a single strike, the energy beam pierced its wing, leaving behind a bloody hole and eliciting a painful, wolf-like howl.
