Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 129: Chapter 112: Peach Saint

Li Qian wasn’t the only one who could figure that out.

Take Chu Xiran, for example.

She grit her teeth and stepped forward with righteous conviction. ”Elder Tie, why don’t you take Li Qian and use Instant Movement to get away? Leave this place to me. I’ll hold it off.”

Elder Tie let out a snort of laughter.

He glanced at Chu Xiran and shot her down without any ceremony. ”You’re going to hold it off? More like go get yourself killed.”

”I...” Chu Xiran was at a loss for words, not knowing how to refute him.

In Chu Xiran’s mind, this was meant to be a tragic and heroic moment. But with Elder Tie’s blunt takedown, the whole scene suddenly felt rather comical.

”You won’t be able to stall for any time at all if you go.”

Elder Tie didn’t pull his punches. ”If it wants to kill you, it’ll be over in minutes.”

”You’d just be a free kill!”

Li Qian, standing to the side, felt a bit awkward hearing this and tried to smooth things over, ”Uh, while that may be true, Elder Tie, could you maybe be a little more tactful?”

The corner of Chu Xiran’s mouth couldn’t help but twitch.

’What does he mean, ”while that may be true”?’

’You’re telling Elder Tie to be tactful, but you’re not being tactful at all!’

Elder Tie curled his lip, ignored Li Qian’s words, and gave a self-deprecating laugh. ”What’s there to be tactful about? Forget you—even I would just be serving myself up on a platter for that thing.”

Li Qian felt that Elder Tie was speaking the absolute truth.

Still, he wanted to grasp at any straw of hope. ”So,” he asked quickly, ”what’s our plan?”

Elder Tie looked at Li Qian, then at the charging Demon Dragon Rhinoceros, and concisely spat out two words: ”Buy time!”

”Pfft!”

When Li Qian heard that, he almost tripped and fell flat on his face!

He thought he had misheard, or perhaps Elder Tie was joking.

’How is your plan any different from Chu Xiran’s?!’

’She’d be serving herself up on a platter, and you wouldn’t be doing the exact same thing?!’

’The only difference is that your platter is a slightly bigger portion, so it might take the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros a little longer to finish its meal!’

Scratching his head, Li Qian immediately asked, ”Um, do you have a... more brilliant strategy?”

Elder Tie shook his head, a profound and mysterious expression on his face. ”My ’buying time’ is different from your ’buying time’.”

Li Qian was completely confused.

He didn’t understand what trick Elder Tie had up his sleeve.

Soon, Elder Tie gave an explanation, ”My Four-Winged Mantis has the Instant Movement Skill. It can actually hold its own for a bit, not just go there to die.”

”Besides that, there’s one more, very important point.”

He looked at Chu Xiran, speaking with complete confidence, ”I’m stalling for time to wait for reinforcements. You stalling for time is just waiting to die!”

Li Qian considered himself a pretty good-tempered person, but after hearing Elder Tie’s words, he almost couldn’t stop himself from spitting on the ground.

Before, when the old man had been beside him, he’d barely spoken, so Li Qian hadn’t noticed. But now, Li Qian could feel it in his bones: Elder Tie had a wickedly sharp tongue.

But a sharp tongue was just a sharp tongue.

When it came to battle, he didn’t mess around at all.

With the support of the Four-Winged Mantis, he charged straight out without the slightest hesitation to buy time for Li Qian.

Soon, the battle began once more.

Or, to be more precise, it still wasn’t a battle, but a game of cat and mouse.

The Demon Dragon Rhinoceros was the cat, and Elder Tie was the mouse.

Facing the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros’s attacks, Elder Tie didn’t resist in the slightest, nor did he even entertain the thought of resisting.

He focused all his energy on escaping.

Relying on the ”Instant Movement” skill mastered by his Four-Winged Mantis, Elder Tie actually managed to tie up the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros for the time being.

However, Li Qian soon noticed that something was wrong.

Elder Tie was finding it more and more difficult to dodge.

Several times, he was in extreme danger.

He was almost hit by the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros’s Skills.

It wasn’t just Li Qian; Chu Xiran had noticed this as well.

But right now, the two of them could only stand by and worry helplessly.

After about ten minutes, Elder Tie’s decline became more and more obvious.

After another Instant Movement, his breathing was already ragged and he was gasping for air.

His old partner, the Four-Winged Mantis, also looked extremely exhausted.

BOOM!

Just as Li Qian’s heart leaped into his throat and Chu Xiran’s face filled with worry...

An Energy Ball shot over at extreme speed.

Once again, Elder Tie exhausted all his strength, narrowly using the Instant Movement Skill at the last possible moment to dodge the attack.

No, to be precise, he only dodged a part of it.

The force of the Energy Ball’s explosion still burst outwards...

Elder Tie was caught in the blast wave, sent flying backward, and then slammed heavily onto the ground.

This time, it wasn’t just painful—it was also humiliating.

Especially with people watching from the side.

Not caring whether the reinforcements had arrived or not, Elder Tie did a carp kip-up to get to his feet, then roared furiously at his surroundings, ”Little Taotao, you son of a bitch, if you don’t show your face right now, I’m going to tell everyone about all the embarrassing shit you’ve done!”

Elder Tie’s sudden shouting left both Li Qian and Chu Xiran completely baffled.

’Who’s this Little Taotao?’

’Could he be the reinforcements?’

’But... why does he sound so unimpressive?’

”Little Hua Hua, what’s the rush? Since I promised to come rescue you, there’s no way I’d let you die here!”

Just as Elder Tie was looking utterly wretched, and Li Qian and Chu Xiran were completely bewildered... a clear voice suddenly rang out!

Judging from the volume and direction of the voice, the speaker wasn’t very far away.

As the voice faded, the scene before them flickered, and in the next second, a figure had appeared in front of Li Qian and Chu Xiran.

The very instant he saw this person who had appeared out of nowhere, Li Qian was stunned.

Because the person before him was completely beyond his comprehension.

The man had a tall and straight figure, sword-like brows, star-like eyes, and skin as smooth as jade. He was an incredibly handsome... man!

Moreover, judging by his appearance, this person who had suddenly appeared couldn’t be more than thirty years old.

However, from the tone of their conversation, it was obvious that he and Iron Lad were of the same generation.

To have reached such an age and still maintain such a youthful appearance was truly incredible.

The handsome man strode through the air, speaking as he approached, ”Also, my current title is ’Peach Saint.’ Please don’t call me ’Little Taotao,’ or I won’t be able to resist spitting on you.”

”You have a title, and I have a name too.”

Facing the newcomer, Elder Tie was completely unafraid.

He shot back without the slightest hesitation, ”My name is ’Tie Ru Hua’! If you call me ’Little Hua Hua’ one more time, even if I can’t beat you, I’ll still splash your face with my blood!”
