Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 123: Chapter 106: First Time Entering the Dimension Plane

GLUG GLUG GLUG...

Li Qian and Chu Xiran entered the Unstable Rift. What they hadn’t expected was... after passing through something like a membrane of light, they found themselves plunged into water.

Caught off guard, they both choked on a few mouthfuls.

Once they recovered, they immediately held their breath, which brought some relief.

Thankfully, having experienced an evolutionary feedback, their physical fitness had improved significantly.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to stay underwater for long.

’This is such a setup! What kind of intel did Chujiang River give us?!’ Having been thoroughly screwed over the moment they entered, Li Qian couldn’t help but curse inwardly.

That’s right. Before coming in, Li Qian and Chu Xiran had naturally questioned Chujiang River and the other two.

The intelligence they received was... that after entering... they would be in a valley!

But looking at it now, this was no valley!

It was clearly a lake or a pond!

Fortunately, judging from the water they had just choked on... it wasn’t saltwater, which at least ruled out the possibility of it being the sea.

But then he considered that the three families hadn’t been in here for nearly two years. It wasn’t impossible for the landscape to have completely changed.

After all, the interior of an Unstable Rift was a Dimension Plane inhabited by Extraordinary Creatures. A single large-scale battle could cause massive changes to the terrain.

Most importantly, even if he wanted to chew out those three unreliable fellows, he had to make it back safely first.

Right now, the most pressing matter was... dealing with the threat posed by the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros.

With this in mind, the two of them quickly stabilized themselves in the water and focused their attention on the Unstable Rift before them.

Having passed through the Unstable Rift to the other side, they could finally see the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros in its entirety.

Based on its appearance alone, it did indeed resemble a massive rhinoceros.

Its length was estimated to be over a hundred meters.

Its height was around seventy to eighty meters.

Its entire body was covered in scales as black as ink.

The part of its body that most distinguished it from a rhinoceros was... its tail!

It didn’t look like a bull’s tail at all!

Instead, it looked very much like the tail of a crocodile.

Floating in the water and looking up at the enormous Demon Dragon Rhinoceros, the two of them saw that it was currently stuck in a blue-glowing fissure in the water.

That blue-glowing fissure was the Unstable Rift.

Seeing this, Li Qian suddenly understood something.

Something he had vaguely sensed before but couldn’t quite put his finger on.

The water!

Yes, the water!

Combining the remaining water level in the reservoir with the massive waves they’d seen earlier, he could determine that the total volume of water was abnormal.

There was clearly too much of it!

At this moment, he finally understood completely.

Previously, when the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros broke through the Unstable Rift, it must have brought a large amount of water from this lake with it.

Waving his hand, Li Qian made a few gestures at Chu Xiran.

Through a mix of observation and guesswork, Chu Xiran roughly understood his meaning.

”Find the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros’s weak point.”

The light was a bit dim in the water. Li Qian thought for a moment, then took out his phone and turned on its flashlight.

Thanks to the technology of this Beast Taming World being far more advanced than his previous life’s, Li Qian’s phone not only had a bright light, but it was also waterproof!

It lit up in the dim water like a tiny star.

With the illumination from the phone’s flashlight, their visibility in the water improved greatly. The two of them didn’t dare to delay for a second and immediately sprang into action.

Although it was unlikely for other Extraordinary Creatures to appear next to the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros, their own abilities were limited, and they couldn’t stay underwater for long.

They had to race against time.

They swam through the water with a clear objective: the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros’s belly.

Li Qian had undergone an evolutionary feedback, and a Cyan-Scaled Flood Dragon’s at that. Chu Xiran, even more so... she had experienced more than one.

Their physical constitutions were far superior to that of ordinary people.

So, it didn’t take long for them to swim to the location of the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros’s abdomen.

By the light of the phone’s flashlight, the two soon spotted five scales on the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros’s abdomen that were distinctly lighter in color.

Amidst the otherwise jet-black scales, these five lighter-colored ones were quite conspicuous.

Having found the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros’s weak point, Li Qian didn’t hesitate. He directly released the eight Frostfire Salamanders, led by Xiaoliu, from his Beast Taming Ball.

Chu Xiran, for her part, summoned her Snowfield Wolf.

The appearance of the eight Frostfire Salamanders and the Snowfield Wolf instantly alerted the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros.

Its limbs began to thrash violently, and its tail whipped back and forth.

Given the circumstances, it was no surprise that the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros had already sensed their presence.

At the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros’s level, even with its head stuck in the Unstable Rift and unable to see the other side, it could still detect Li Qian and the others through Energy fluctuations or disturbances in the water.

The reason it hadn’t withdrawn its head yet was not only because the attacks from Elder Tie and the others had genuinely enraged it, but also because it subconsciously felt that Xiaoliu and the others posed no threat.

The eight Frostfire Salamanders led by Xiaoliu were only at the Elite Level. Even Chu Xiran’s Snowfield Wolf was only Commander Level. There was an insurmountable gap between them and the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros.

After releasing Xiaoliu and the others, Li Qian’s eyes sharpened when he saw that the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros, despite sensing their presence, seemed to have no intention of pulling its head back and was still struggling to break through the Unstable Rift.

He acted again, summoning Qizai.

After summoning Qizai, he beckoned with his hand.

Chu Xiran understood his meaning. Without hesitation, she swam over and mounted Qizai’s draconic back with him.

As Li Qian pointed and gave a mental command, Qizai shot straight up toward the surface of the water.

BANG!

SPLASH!

A moment later, the two of them and the flood dragon burst out of the water and into the air.

”Thank goodness, the water isn’t deep!” Li Qian let out a long sigh of relief after breaking the surface.

The shallow water was a good thing; it would be beneficial for their next move.

They’d had no choice but to leave the water. After all, in a moment, the eight Frostfire Salamanders and the Snowfield Wolf below were going to attack the Demon Dragon Rhinoceros’s weak point with their Frost Breath skill.

Under the terrifying blast of cold air, the small lake below would likely be frozen solid in an instant.

The eight Frostfire Salamanders and the Snowfield Wolf were Ice Element Pet Beasts, so naturally, they wouldn’t mind. But Li Qian and Chu Xiran were different.

If they stayed in the water, they would definitely be caught in the effect.

That was why they had to break the surface. Fortunately, this small lake wasn’t deep, so it wouldn’t really affect their ability to command.

There was another very important point: it would also make it easier for them to retreat in time.

”Don’t fly too high. This isn’t the Ancestral Star, it’s a Dimension Plane. If you fly too high, you’ll likely attract the attention of other Extraordinary Creatures,” Chu Xiran reminded him when she saw him looking around curiously.

”Teacher Chu, you’ve been inside a Dimensional Rift before, right?” Li Qian turned his head and asked Chu Xiran.

Chu Xiran shot him a sideways glance. ”Of course I have!”

”Teacher Chu, you know, this is my first time passing through an Unstable Rift and entering a Dimension Plane...” Li Qian said, looking around with some excitement.

”I know.” Seeing his reaction, Chu Xiran commented flatly, ”A man’s first time is bound to be a little emotional... but don’t forget why we’re here!”

Li Qian: ”...”

He had a feeling Teacher Chu was making a dirty joke, but he had no proof!
