Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 110: Chapter 93: A Shocking Scene

Zhao Xiwei was not foolish. On the contrary, she was a very intelligent woman.

She glanced at Mu Qianqian, who was fighting some distance away, then at her rapidly fleeing opponent. Without a second thought, she gave chase.

’Regardless of why he’s running, stopping him is definitely the right move.’

However, Xuanwu had already unleashed his full power and ignited his Energy Furnace. His speed was incredible. As she chased him, she found she couldn’t catch up right away.

The distance between them was closing, but he was still out of her effective attack range. Even if she landed a hit, its power would be limited.

Just then, Chu Xiran, who was doing her best to catch up, called out a reminder, ”Senior, you have to stop him!”

Hearing this, Zhao Xiwei couldn’t help but let the corner of her mouth twitch.

’You think I need you to tell me that? What do you think I’m doing right now?’

’Besides, why didn’t you warn me sooner?’

’If you’d warned me earlier, that guy never would have had a chance to escape.’

’Oh, right. You were too weak to keep up. In that case... forget it!’

The battle had taken place not far from the hydropower station, and after a short chase, they soon arrived in its vicinity.

By the time they reached it, the distance between the two had narrowed considerably.

Zhao Xiwei commanded her fastest Pet Beast, the Wolf Vulture, to unleash its Skill in mid-air: ”Gale Feather Blade!”

Countless feathers, wreathed in powerful Wind Energy, shot out like a shower of brilliant shooting stars.

Xuanwu had merged with Feida No. 1, causing his combat power to soar, but even he could not evade such a relentless, overwhelming attack.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The alloy of his body was battered and dented, and the entire robot was sent flying.

”Hahaha... Excellent, just excellent... You just wait!” Thrown into the air, Xuanwu remained completely unfazed, even letting out an unbridled laugh.

Then, with a loud SPLASH, he fell into the reservoir!

When Zhao Xiwei saw this, she instinctively felt that something was wrong.

’Why would he still be making threats and laughing under these circumstances?’

”This is bad!” Chu Xiran and the other two, who had been struggling to catch up right behind them, heard Xuanwu’s laughter and threats and saw his fate. Chu Xiran cried out in alarm.

Before she could explain further, the situation took a sudden turn.

The seven robots fighting Mu Qianqian suddenly went berserk and began sprinting in a specific direction at extreme speed.

From inside one of the robots that had already lost its combat capabilities, a millstone-sized Mechanical Octopus suddenly emerged. Scurrying on its eight legs, it also bolted in that same direction with lightning speed.

Mu Qianqian was stunned by this. She tried to give chase but discovered that the robots were running recklessly, ignoring everything else. Even when attacked, they didn’t stop or fight back. If they lost their combat ability, a Mechanical Octopus would simply emerge from within and continue forward.

Of the seven robots, only three robots and two Mechanical Octopuses ultimately made it to their destination.

And their destination was none other than the reservoir.

Upon reaching the reservoir, they dove straight in without a moment’s hesitation.

”What on earth is going on?” Mu Qianqian asked as she arrived, looking at Chu Xiran and the other two, who were standing by the reservoir with anxious expressions.

”The Sealed Land—the Unstable Rift—is actually at the bottom of this reservoir!” At this point, there was no sense in hiding it any longer; they had probably figured most of it out already. Chu Xiran decided to just come clean.

”So it was under the reservoir this whole time!” Zhao Xiwei said, a look of realization dawning on her face.

”I suppose this whole hydropower station was built as a cover?” Mu Qianqian asked speculatively.

Chu Xiran nodded with a bitter expression.

She didn’t seem to want to explain further, instead pulling the conversation back on track. ”Seniors, what should we do now?”

”Right now, neither of us knows what the situation is underwater. And since we don’t have any Water-type Pet Beasts, we have no idea what would happen if we went in rashly,” Zhao Xiwei said, not holding back her concerns.

”They’re so frantically entering the water—they must be planning to use the Sealed Land for something. We have to get down there and stop them as soon as possible!” Zhao Xiwei said, her voice laced with worry.

”I’ll have my Strong Crocodile go down and check things out,” Zhu Bingqing said after a moment, volunteering her Pet Beast.

As she spoke, she pointed, and the Strong Crocodile beside her slipped quietly into the water.

No one knew what was happening underwater, and asking the seniors to go down and fight at a time like this was indeed an unreasonable demand.

More importantly, the younger group had no right to order them to do anything.

The Strong Crocodile had gone into the water to scout for intel. With its attribute advantage as a Water-type Pet Beast, it shouldn’t be in any real danger.

As the five of them waited anxiously, a series of strange noises suddenly erupted from the city’s edge not far away.

The five turned toward the sound and quickly witnessed a scene they would never forget.

From the edge of the city, swarming across the greenbelts and roads, came all sorts of vehicles, charging toward them like a plague of locusts.

It was as if they were being drawn in by some fatal attraction.

”There must be several hundred of them!” Mu Qianqian said after a quick glance.

Zhao Xiwei echoed her sentiment. ”This is going to be a problem.”

”Don’t tell me they’re also headed for the reservoir?” Niu Fenjin said uncertainly.

”They are!” Just then, an explosion rang out. Along with the blast came the seniors of the three families: Chujiang River, Niu Aihua, and Zhu Guanyu. The moment he appeared, Chujiang River gave a definitive answer.

”Then what do we do now?” Zhu Bingqing asked immediately upon seeing her family’s elder, not paying any mind to their rather disheveled appearances.

”What else can we do? We have to stop them with everything we’ve got!” As he spoke, the three of them didn’t stop moving, continuing to launch their attacks.

”*Sigh*... I guess that’s our only option,” Mu Qianqian said with a helpless sigh before unhesitatingly rejoining the battle.

”At this point, talking is meaningless. The priority is to stop them, no matter what the Mechanical Desecration Association is plotting,” Zhao Xiwei declared, then joined the fight.

”We can’t just stand around, either,” Chu Xiran said decisively to Zhu Bingqing and Niu Fenjin. They hadn’t been able to participate in the previous fight, but now that they could, they certainly wouldn’t stand by and watch.

The group unhesitatingly threw themselves into battle against the several hundred robots that had transformed from all sorts of vehicles.

They unleashed their Skills as if they were free, but there were still some that slipped through the net, rushing into the reservoir one after another.

The main problem was that these robots weren’t immediately rendered non-functional when knocked down.

Mechanical Octopuses would emerge from the downed robots and continue to hurl themselves recklessly toward the reservoir.

It was as if every robot had two lives, and the firepower of Chu Xiran’s group was nowhere near enough to provide full coverage.

Furthermore, these Mechanical Octopuses were agile and extremely fast, making them difficult targets to hit, let alone destroy.
