Epic Of Caterpillar

Chapter 2633 - 2634: Exploring The Pocket World

-----

Frank descended into the Realm of Vida he had created, reaching the surface near a cliff that led down, the sound of birds chirping, echoed through the forest he ended landing over.

The place looked small from above the skies, but as he descended, he finally realized just the massive scale of his own creation.

It might indeed be as big as Hawaii now!

”Wow… This is… I made this?”

Frank slowly kneeled over the floor, touching the fresh grass, it was slightly wet, and it smelled like fresh grass… And as he walked around the forest, he touched the tree bark, hard and dry, the leaves, and even found some trees bearing fruits.

”Ooh!”

He happily grabbed some fruits to test their flavors, he ended up finding fruits similar to apples, peaches, grapes, and even oranges. However, they were slightly different, for example, the apples were orange colored and smaller, the grapes were twice as big and red or pink in color, the peaches were purple, and the oranges were larger, as big as watermelons, but filled with the same flavors and all.

”These fruits are really delicious…”

He enjoyed the fruit carefreely while sitting over the grass, hearing the sound of the river nearby, its glistening water resounding nicely.

”Master? Frank?”

As he sat down, he heard Michaelʼs voice.

”Ah, right…”

He quickly infused Mana into the Celestial Mark of Humility, summoning Michael by his side.

”There you are! I almost got lost in such a beautiful forest…!”

”Sorry for leaving you behind, I just got excited and came down to check the place I created… It still amazing, I really canʼt believe I did such a thing…”

”Well, you cannot do it anymore either way, Frank, that was only possible because of, most likely the System, allowing to shape this new world you were creating, unsealing your powers temporarily.”

”I see… But you said that was my real power?”

”Yes… but right now, due to your fatherʼs seal, you donʼt have complete access to it.”

”Ah, itʼs a pity… If I had it, I could probably solve everyoneʼs problems, and maybe we could finally live peacefully…”

”Perhaps, for some time, but those that your father fears would then come after you, Frank.”

”Those my father fears?”

”The Overseers that have most likely been persecuting him, perhaps… This is solely speculation, but most likely they tried to punish him for having gone to this lower universe and had a child with a mortal, something forbidden among powerful beings like them.”

”…”

Frank nodded silently, looking at the river, his face seemed slightly worried.

”And thatʼs why it might be better for your powers to be sealed like right now, and for you to slowly unseal them as you grow accustomed to them. You had a small taste of your true power, but you mustnʼt let it get into your head, master.”

”…I know, I would never do that. I just wish things were easier sometimes.”

”Yes, we all do.”

Michael sat down by his side, although she was perhaps thrice his size, her beauty and her motherly personality brought comfort to Frank.

”Do you wish to explore this place more, or should we return?”

”Hmm… I want to walk a bit more, letʼs see what else can we find. I havenʼt found an animal yet, or a monster…”

”Are you sure you want to find one though? They might be hostile towards you…”

”Why? Arenʼt I like the God of this World?”

”Technically, but that doesnʼt somehow give you the power to make all animals inside obedient to you, you would have to first tame them. Beasts and people, even as a god of a world, cannot be controlled… Well, unless you do something horrible like Refining them.”

”R-Refining them? What does that mean?”

”Like this.”

Michael grabbed a stone and then imbued it with her powers, ”refining it”.

FLUOSH!

The stone suddenly gained a permanent golden glow.

”Iʼve refined this stone now. Try to grab it.”

”Huh?”

Frank tried to grab it, but…

ZAP!

”Ugh?!”

He felt a slight amount of pain when he tried, even though it was a stone!

Once the stone fell to the ground, it slowly floated back to Michaelʼs hands.

”Refining an object is imposing your own aura and infusing it into the object, any previous owner is taken away and you become the owner of the item.”

”I see… So when someone else tries to grab it… they get hurt?”

”Yes, it will also try to actively slip past their own hand. This is a good way to keep your stuff safe from being stolen. You can always tell where your refined objects are as well.”

”So thatʼs how it is, thatʼs really useful!”

”Indeed, and refining… well, it can even be used on living beings, if youʼre powerful enough.”

”…On living beings? Like forcefully making them… your own property?!”

”Yes.”

”Wait, thatʼs weird, so that would mean you enslave them or something?”

”More or less, but enslavement at least comes with oneʼs freedom of mind. Your body might be enslaved but your soul and mind are free to think and do as they please… Refining a Living Being is scarier than that.”

”…”

”The living beingʼs body, soul, and mind, are all refined, turned into the property of someone else. They will simply not think they were once free at all, they happily obey their new masters. Even their souls are of their masters, and they would not even hesitate to kill themselves or tear themselves apart for their new masters either.”

”So itʼs like brainwashing?”

”Worse, itʼs even harder to cure than brainwashing, son… Thatʼs why, you must never do this to a living being… Understood?”

”…I understand. But what if theyʼre very dangerous or evil? Or a beast or monster?”

”…Well, thatʼs up to you. I might have stricter moral codes than you, but I simply… well, I said what I believe.”

”Did… did your father ever do that?”

”…”

Michael remained in silence, as if thinking, remembering.

Her bright eyesʼ light slowly began to recede a bit.

”Yes…”
