Epic Of Caterpillar

Chapter 2610 - 2611: Growth

-----

”Thanks for the meal, mom, Iʼll wash the dishes.”

”Oh really? You donʼt really have to, arenʼt you tired from all the training?”

”Iʼm fine, donʼt worry~!”

Frank quickly helped his mom wash the dishes, he in fact washed them all very fast, surprising her just how quick and dexterous he had become.

”Oh my! Youʼve become so fast, whatʼs gotten into you? Heheh…”

She giggled amused by her sonʼs vigor, which wasnʼt something very common. She had always known Frank for being a slightly gloomy, low-profile boy.

But in the last year, he had slowly been gaining more confidence, becoming more talkative and charismatic, and also trying to be more respectful and nicer with his family.

”A-Ah, is that so? Must be your imagination… Anyway! Iʼll go take a shower and then Iʼll go to my room. I think Iʼll study a bit, so Iʼd like to be left alone…”

”Oh, okay! Donʼt worry, we wonʼt bother you.” His mom nodded. ”Thank you dear.”

After that taking a second warm shower and then walking back to his room, Frank finally had some more time for himself, despite being a small family, they were rather nosy, and once he started talking about a certain subject, they would just never stop talking.

He sat over his bed and Ruby quickly appeared by his side, stepping out of her subspace where she usually stayed or slept, flying around with her cute tiny wings.

”Ah, Ruby! D-Donʼt make too much noise, alright?”

”Graaah!”

Ruby didnʼt listen, wagging her tail adorably as she quickly jumped over his stomach from the ceiling.

”Ugh?!”

Frank groaned in pain, as Ruby realized she had hit him too hard.

”Graaah? Graah…”

She quickly started licking his stomach to heal him, making him giggle a bit.

”Hahah! W-Wait, donʼt do that…!”

He gently tried to push her away, but Ruby didnʼt stop, making Frank all flustered.

Eventually, he felt her claws digging into his stomach! What a careless girl!

”Ugh? Wait, Ruby donʼt put your claws there, it hurts…! Hahah!”

”Graah?”

Frank sighed, quickly grabbing her and lifting her up, making her look like a kitten with red scales, long tail and big wings.

”And to think you can turn even bigger, huh? Good thing you can shrink, hahah!”

Frank laughed, as Ruby cutely licked his entire face.

”Uagh!”

Although Frank was slightly disgusted, he ended kissing her forehead and hugging her.

If it wasnʼt for this adorable little dragon, he would have died.

”Thank you for keeping me alive, Ruby…”

”Graah? Gryah!”

Ruby got all happy, wagging her tail and licking him even more at the end.

”E-Enough! I shouldnʼt have said anything…!”

Eventually, Ruby calmed down once Frank gave him a big piece of monster meat and the bones of a huge skeleton yokai.

”Hah… Sheʼs really like a dog, huh? Or a cat? Maybe both… Dragons sure are weird. But theyʼre certainly smarter than other pets.”

With peace finally attained, Frank moved towards his Status, glancing at the System Notifications he had gotten.

He had naturally leveled up a lot after that battle against the monsters and Medea.

”Graah?! Graaah!” Ruby nodded cutely, wagging her tail rapidly.

”Graaah!” She seemed slightly angry Frank said that.

”Donʼt get mad…” Frank sighed. ”Hmm… But your Mana Core is not advancing any further. Do I have more of those crystals?”

Frank remembered having obtained crystals from defeating monsters, which were called ”Otherworldly Crystals” that worked like those from the monsters of the other world he visited, where Mana Core Cultivation was a thing.

”Oh, I do have a lot of them stored inside my Inventory… Well, I might as well share some to you. Youʼre a real help all the time, so have some.”
