Epic Of Caterpillar

Chapter 2626 - 2627: The Truth

-----

After the long conversations he had with Michael, where he learned many new things, Frank quickly summoned his traced version of White, which was rusty and looked mostly destroyed.

Using this as a medium to regain her memories of this version of herself created by the Records of the Root, Michael regained some of Whiteʼs memories, learning quite a lot of things about Kireina and more, which only made Frank more confused.

However, much like him, the memories came fragmented, so it was rather hard to piece things together properly, although Frank also regained more of these strange memories while hearing White talk about Kireina, he quickly realized that to finally get them all, he and Michael would have to find Kireina and possibly confront her one way or another about these things.

However, if that was going to work or not, he wasnʼt sure… Kireina was a very mysterious girl, someone that also seemed to have a background that nobody knew about. And when he asked Matsuo, Harumi, or Erika about her, they simply had no idea where she came from.

She was shrouded in mystery, and the way she acted with Frank, as if she had always known him, also put him unease… But at the same time, these fragmented ”memories” or ”dreams” he had with her couldnʼt be ignored either, further increasing his confusion over the entire subject.

Frank began to think that perhaps, there was an hidden past he couldnʼt remember, a time he had yet to live, but that he had memories of living… Wherever these were only ”memories” or ”dreams”, they felt like they belonged to someone else.

Memories of another ”him” that began flowing into his head as he continued trying to solve this every growing mystery…

Who is Kireina?

”…”

As Frank questioned these things and remained in silence, thinking, Michael touched the spear and glanced at him.

”Frank, thereʼs many things left to do, and even more thinks we should talk about too… But first, letʼs see if I can fix this. And then, we should move into the matter of this World Seed and the Portal.” She said. ”And well, about Kireina… the maker of ”White” that for some reason ended on Elfinaʼs hands.”

”…Okay, I understand,” Frank nodded. ”So what do we do?”

Michael held the rusty spear in her hands, as light began encompassing the spear slowly…

”Please, hold the spear alongside me, and unleash the power of my siblings through your Celestial Mark of Humility. Those glowing hands and wings made of light; do you remember them?”

”Yeah, I do,” Frank nodded.

”Very well. Manifest them into the spear, and Iʼll help you repair it.” She said. ”Infuse them into this rusty weapon.”

”Infuse them? Wait, can you repair the spear? You can do that?” Frank wondered, feeling surprised that a projected weapon could even be repaired, something impossible to begin with because they were mere imitations, magical constructs created using magic and mana, not real physical objects.

Michael smiled charmingly, patting his head and caressing his face as if she were a merciful mother that found the ignorance of her son rather endearing.

”I can… Well, technically, I cannot repair it completely, but we can do something different.” She said, as she looked at the spear.

”Something different? Like what?” Frank wondered. ”I am fairly sure the only normal way to ”repair” a weapon projection is by tracing the original weapon again… But Elfina seems unable to summon those spears again, so thatʼs not a possibility anymore.”

”Yes, we can use its data and the power of my siblings and me, alongside your cosmic and celestial powers to forge a new weapon tied to your class. Every Angelic Knight requires an Angelic Heavenly Spear, a living divine weapon tied to their souls.” Michael explained to Frank; she was very patient. ”We will help you create it.”

”I had no idea they were supposed to have a special weapon…” Frank said. ”Okay then, letʼs make it. But your siblings are sleeping, is it possible to bring their power out? And is it that fine with them?”

”Donʼt worry, they would agree either way as they approved of you taking the trial and then coming along with you,” Michael explained. ”So it shouldnʼt be an issue. Even though theyʼre slumbering, their power will be given to you if you ask nicely, and if I am the medium.”

”I see… Okay then, letʼs do it, Michael!” Frank said, filled with determination.

”Graaarr!”

As he said that, he noticed Ruby by his side, sitting over the bed while glancing at the scene.

Onyx was also nearby, looking at things happening with an absentminded spirit.

”Ah right, I forgot to introduce them to you. These are Ruby and Onyx, my Familiars,” Frank said, as Michael looked at them with interest.

”Oh! A Dragon with Holy Light Element? And it has great potential…!” Michael analyzed Ruby. ”She also has… A very strong bond with you, is this a familiar you created?”

”Created? No, the egg… I got it from the System,” Frank explained.

”Well, Frank, the System is your Soulʼs Trait, so you technically created her, even if without realizing,” Michael explained. ”This is probably why sheʼs so special and has so much potential… Amazing.”

”E-Eh?! Wait a second, does that means I am like Rubyʼs dad?” Frank wondered. ”Onyx also came from an egg dropped by a monster, but that dropped item is also made by the system so…”

”The little slime seem to be a special type of artificial monster made using sacrificial souls and curses… but somehow it was born naturally through that egg, huh? I suppose it is also a creation of your powers,” Michael nodded.

”Thereʼs no way… I had no freaking idea that was happening, so my system is really my power? Like my own soul thing… trait you said?” Frank asked.

”Thatʼs right,” Michael nodded. ”Right now though, it is growing and developing alongside you, but as you grow stronger through this ”leveling” and through the ”stats” and ”skills” you will continuously unseal your true powers…”

”Unseal? So theyʼre sealed?” Frank asked.

”Yes… your true powers as an Overseerʼs son,” Michael explained. ”Most likely by your own father, for your own protection.”

”My father… he sealed my power?” Frank asked. ”For my own protection? But thatʼs…”
