The Commandery Princess looked at Chen Jie at this moment and said, ”What plan do you have, speak quickly.”

Chen Jie responded, ”Commandery Princess, if I tell, it might not work, but as long as you trust me, I can certainly gather enough grain to save the people of Mianshui.”

Zhao Ya looked at Chen Jie and said, ”Good, if you can really save the people of this city, I’ll give you the True Spirit Grass as a reward.”

”Really!”

Chen Jie heard this, and his eyes immediately brightened. Zhao Ya said, ”Indeed, I, Zhao Ya, never speak falsely.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Jie smiled and said, ”In that case, many thanks to the Commandery Princess.”

Zhao Ya said, ”Hey, don’t be too quick to thank me; the premise is that you can save these people from the city. If you can’t save them, I will not only not reward you but also punish you severely.”

Chen Jie laughed upon hearing this and said, ”Haha, Commandery Princess can rest assured, I have my clever plan.”

Zhao Ya said, ”Then I shall wait and see.”

Chen Jie clasped his hands in respect and said, ”The Commandery Princess can rest assured.”

Zhao Ya said, ”You seem quite confident.”

Chen Jie bowed his head in silence, thinking that he actually had two backup plans from the start. The first plan was if Zhao Ya managed to bring the grain, it would be easy to resolve the crisis in the city.

If the Commandery Princess couldn’t bring the grain, then Chen Jie would have to use his methods.

At this moment, Zhao Ya looked at Chen Jie and said, ”How do you want me to cooperate with you?”

Jie Wenyan said, ”Commandery Princess, you need to help me with two things now.”

Zhao Ya inquired, ”What two things?”

Chen Jie said, ”First, the grain borrowed from Huangzhou Prefecture, let me manage it.”

Zhao Ya said, ”Okay.”

”Second, the Commandery Princess must post a notice outside, comforting the people and calling on the influential families, guilds, and officials in the city to use their channels to procure grain and serve the country.”

Zhao Ya frowned and said, ”Will this work? They don’t listen to my orders; will a mere notice be effective?”

Zhao Ya was puzzled, but Chen Jie said, ”Ha ha ha... The Commandery Princess may not know that sometimes, a mere notice can be more effective than your orders.”

After hearing this, Zhao Ya said, ”These two things are easy to do; is there anything else?”

Chen Jie said, ”Not for now, but I will certainly need the Commandery Princess’s full support in the future.”

Zhao Ya responded, ”Hey, Jiu Si, since the notice will be useful, why don’t I host a banquet tomorrow and invite the city’s influential figures, then make a public appeal and concurrently accept those ninety Second Grade Tai Sui Pills from you, claiming they’re for supporting my grain procurement efforts, what do you think?”

Upon hearing this, Chen Jie looked at Zhao Ya and said, ”Commandery Princess, you are wise.”

”In this way, I can publicly present these Tai Sui Pills to the Princess without attracting attention, and also encourage others to accept the notice, brilliant, truly brilliant!”

Zhao Ya said, ”Hehe, naturally, the plans of this Commandery Princess can never be ordinary. By the way, how do you plan to gather the remaining 150,000 stones of grain?”

Chen Jie said, ”A wise person has their ways.”

Zhao Ya said, ”Hmph, who cares to know, I tell you, if you mess this up, see how I deal with you.”

Chen Jie saw Zhao Ya suddenly act prideful and knew she was throwing a tantrum.

However, Chen Jie wasn’t prepared to say it clearly. So, Chen Jie packed away the other things on the table and then directly left the Commandery Princess’s residence.

Watching Chen Jie leave, Zhao Ya looked at Ah San and said, ”What do you think Chen Jiusi has come up with?”

Ah San said, ”I don’t know, but if he says he can do it, then he certainly can.”

Zhao Ya was stunned and looked at Ah San and said, ”You brat seem to trust him a lot.”

After speaking, she propped her chin and said, ”What method will he use to fill this big gap?”

...

The night was deep, and Chen Jie left Zhao Ya’s residence with a bag of things, found a deserted place, and directly threw the contents of the bag into the Iron Ring. Then, Chen Jie meandered around before finally arriving at a wonton stall.

Someone was already waiting for him here. Chen Jie sat down, looked at the three empty bowls of wonton on the table, and said, ”Old Zhou, are you a hungry ghost reincarnated?”

Zhou Chu said, ”Damn it, who would have guessed that the Yelu rascal eats raw fish, that stuff doesn’t satisfy hunger, so I ate a bit more.”

Chen Jie inquired, ”How’s your injury?”

Zhou Chu said, ”It’s healed. The Gang Leader’s Tai Sui Pill not only healed the injury but also boosted my strength, haha...”

”That’s good.”

Chen Jie nodded, and at this moment Zhou Chu said, ”Gang Leader, let’s talk business, Yelu asked me to burn our Fishing Guild’s granary.”

”Burn grain?”

Chen Jie was surprised and quickly said, ”Did he acquire grain?”

Zhou Chu said, ”Yes, he claims to have acquired a large batch of grain but didn’t mention where he got it from or how much.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Jie said, ”Hehe, knowing he’s acquired grain makes it easier, I was worrying about no one to fill the gap, and he happens to come. As for where he got it from, solving small batches won’t fix it; for large batches, it’s likely from the official granary. Huangzhou Prefecture has no grain, so it’s either Yong’an Prefecture or Xiaogan Prefecture. It’s easy to find out.”

Chen Jie analyzed and said.

Upon hearing this, Zhou Chu said, ”As long as the Gang Leader is aware, should I burn the grain then?”

Chen Jie said, ”Burn, haha, must burn. If the grain is not burned, how can I strategize? Tomorrow, you go and burn down the east warehouse.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Chu said, ”What about the grain?”

Chen Jie said, ”I swapped it out long ago; with grain so precious, would I leave it there waiting for others to destroy?”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Chu said, ”Then I’ll really burn it tomorrow.”

Chen Jie said, ”Burn.”

”Without burning, how will Yelu fall into the trap?”

Chen Jie looked up at the sky and said, ”Hehe, Yelu, this time let’s see who is the hunter and who is the prey!”
