Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Chapter 807: Chapter 217 Chen Jie: Laugh, you will soon be unable to laugh_6

Chen Jie pondered this, took a sip of tea from the table, and Yelu looked at Chen Jie, always feeling this fellow was scheming against him!

But he didn’t know what Chen Jie was scheming after all, he frowned, but soon he spoke: ”Chen Jie, you just said you have nearly 200,000 Stones of grain stored?”

Chen Jie replied: ”About that, what guidance does Lord Yelu have?”

Yelu said: ”Then why don’t you open it for sale, but limit the amount of grain each person can buy?”

Chen Jie replied: ”Lord Yelu, isn’t it obvious? I’m afraid someone will take advantage of me. If I don’t set limits and sell grain on a large scale, I think someone might buy it all up and resell it at a higher price to the common people, and ultimately, they would still be eating expensive grain.”

”Also, Mianshui County is currently in short supply of at least 300,000 Stones of grain, everyone should be aware of this, and I only have 200,000 Stones, which isn’t enough, if I sell without limits, wealthy families might hoard grain, and the common people still won’t be able to afford it.”

”Therefore, at Antai Grain Store, we only sell two jin of rice per household per day, to effectively prevent anyone from hoarding and cornering the market.”

Zhao Ya, listening on the side, said: ”Good, Guild Leader Chen, you truly have great wisdom.”

Hearing this, Yelu looked at Chen Jie and said: ”Guild Leader Chen, with so much grain, where is it stored? Could it be washed away by water?”

Chen Jie replied: ”It’s in the highest east warehouse, where water can’t get in, it’s a great place to store grain!”

Everyone hearing this said in unison: ”Guild Leader Chen is indeed farsighted.”

Everyone praised, yet those who had stored grain cursed, damn Chen Jiusi, you’re hoarding so much grain, if word gets out, how are we going to sell our grain at high prices, you’re truly hateful, cutting off our financial path!

Yelu also squinted his eyes, he had 100,000 Stones of grain being transported to Mianshui, if Chen Jiusi had so much grain, his 100,000 Stones wouldn’t make a fivefold profit.

At this moment, Yelu was gnashing his teeth with hatred, as the saying goes, cutting off one’s financial path is like killing their parents, Chen Jiusi’s actions are cutting off financial paths, making everyone hate Chen Jiusi to death.

Chen Jiusi, damn it, actually hoarded so much grain in advance, heavens, may you have eyes and burn Chen Jiusi’s grain with a fire!

Everyone prayed this way in their hearts.

Just at this moment, a sudden burst of loud gong sounds came from outside: Dang dang dang~

Everyone present was startled by the gong sounds, and immediately looked outside: ”Who is it, at such a time, beating the gong disturbing everyone.”

While pondering, they heard a burst of shouting from outside: ”Come, someone, something’s wrong, fire, fire!”

Hearing this, everyone was taken aback, fire, where is the fire?

Everyone thought, directly pushed open the windows, and saw in the northeast corner, a raging fiery fire blazed up, looking very terrifying.

Everyone looked in that direction, and then all turned to look at Chen Jie, only to see Chen Jie with an ashen face, someone said: ”Hey, isn’t that where Guild Leader Chen’s grain is in the east warehouse?”

Hearing this, the others also spoke up: ”That’s right, it’s the Fishing Guild’s east warehouse.”

Saying so, everyone nearly burst into laughter, heaven has eyes, it actually burned the Fishing Guild’s warehouse, hahaha, now we can sell our grain at high prices.

Chen Jie now looked grim, quickly cupped his hand to Zhao Ya: ”Commandery Princess, I have something to take care of, I must leave.”

After speaking he hurriedly left, Zhao Ya hearing his words said: ”Let’s go, we should also go see, these 200,000 Stones of grain are crucial to the safety of ten thousand families in Mianshui.”

Thinking this, Zhao Ya followed and rushed out, everyone else all looked at Yelu, only to see Yelu say: ”Let’s go, let’s go see.”

Indeed, they needed to go see, after all, if the grain burned, they would really get rich, so they hurriedly went to confirm, if it’s truly burned or not!

Thinking this, a group of people rushed towards the east warehouse.

At this moment, the east warehouse was seen with flames soaring to the sky, the smell of charred wood enveloped the fire scene, surrounded by a crowd of citizens, pointing and murmuring.

”Make way, make way.”

The Fishing Guild disciples rushed in, driving the citizens to the side, then began splashing water to extinguish the fire at the east warehouse.

At this moment, a curious citizen asked: ”What’s stored in this warehouse after all.”

A Fishing Guild disciple said: ”Grain, it’s the grain our Fishing Guild prepared for disaster relief.”

Ah!

Hearing this, the citizens were shocked, and immediately shouted sternly: ”Ah, then quickly put out the fire!”

But it was too late, clearly this was a premeditated fire, flames soared to the sky, water couldn’t extinguish it.

Just at this moment, suddenly someone rushed into the flames.

[Seventeen Dragon Capturing Palms]

With a furious shout, a palm struck towards the flames, the flames were immediately suppressed by Gang Qi, seemingly about to be extinguished, but in a moment reignited, the next moment the flames directly engulfed the east warehouse.

Zhao Ya and others hurriedly arrived, seeing the scene before them, they all gathered around together.

Zhao Ya anxiously asked: ”Chen Jiusi, how is it, how is it?”

Chen Jie now with his face blackened from smoke, looking very embarrassed: ”It’s over, completely over, my grain is all inside!”

Hearing this, Yelu nearly laughed aloud, immediately came up pretending to console: ”Ah yeah yeah, Jiusi, take it easy, these natural and man-made disasters, are unavoidable, aren’t they...”

”Yes yes...”

Everyone around said with smiles.

Chen Jie glanced at them, a slight curl at the corner of his mouth, but soon suppressed it, becoming even more dejected...

Laugh, laugh now, there will come a time when you can’t laugh.
