Chen Jie nodded and immediately asked Xiao Hu, ”By the way, what’s the grain price on the black market tonight?”

Xiao Hu said, ”Forty-three cents, as soon as our grains enter the city, they lower the prices.”

Chen Jie frowned, ”It hasn’t fallen below forty cents, haven’t those Suzhou merchants seized the chance to sell grains?”

Xiao Hu replied, ”No movement, they haven’t sold any grains.”

Chen Jie laughed and said, ”There are indeed talented people at the Suzhou Chamber of Commerce, they’re quite composed.”

Beside them, Zhao Ya asked, ”So what should we do? The Suzhou Chamber hasn’t panicked, and the 100,000 stones of grain we have won’t last much longer.”

Chen Jie said, ”Don’t worry. If the Suzhou merchants won’t lower the price, we will. Xiao Hu, dump all 40,000 stones of grain we have onto the black market. I want tomorrow’s price to be thirty-five cents per pound!”

”Okay.”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Hu immediately consented.

”I’ll arrange for people to sell the grain right away.”

After speaking, Xiao Hu added, ”By the way, Gang Leader, Zhou Chu is back.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Jie laughed and said, ”Is that so? Tell him to come see me immediately.”

”Alright.”

Xiao Hu responded and immediately went out, then Chen Jie turned to Zhao Ya and said, ”Commandery Princess, our ability to accurately determine Yelu’s grain transport route is all thanks to Zhou Chu’s efforts. Without his advance reconnaissance, we probably wouldn’t have found these grains even now.”

Zhao Ya replied, ”Indeed, he’s a meritorious minister.”

Chen Jie said, ”Thank you for the compliment, Commandery Princess.”

As they spoke, Zhou Chu walked in, Chen Jie stood up and extended his arms, ”Old Zhou.”

Zhou Chu looked at Chen Jie and said, ”Ha ha, Gang Leader.”

They embraced each other and laughed heartily, Chen Jie said, ”Old Zhou, you’ve made a great contribution this time, tell me what reward would you like?”

Zhou Chu replied, ”Forget about rewards, Gang Leader. Just get me something to eat quickly. I’ve been eating raw fish with Yelu at the Yelu Mansion for days; I’m nearly sick of seeing fish now.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Jie laughed, ”Alright, your favorite lion’s head dish has been prepared by the chef, you can enjoy it freely.”

”Also, stay with your wife at the Headquarters for the next few days, you’ve certainly angered Yelu this time.”

Zhou Chu laughed, ”Ha ha ha... that old fellow truly thinks I would betray the Fishing Guild, what was he thinking.”

At this moment, Chen Jie turned and said, ”By the way, Zhou Chu, the Commandery Princess is here; mind your manners.”

On hearing this, Zhou Chu turned to Zhao Ya, ”Greetings, Commandery Princess.”

At this point, Zhao Ya laughed, ”Oh, Zhou Chu, I’ve heard of you, you’ve rendered great service to the court.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Chu immediately clasped his fists in salute, ”Thank you for the praise, Commandery Princess. The small achievements I have attained are all due to the Gang Leader’s guidance; I dare not take credit.”

Zhao Ya laughed heartily, ”Good, good.”

Zhou Chu said, ”If there’s nothing else, Gang Leader, I’ll head down to eat, as my stomach is growling.”

Chen Jie said, ”Go ahead, your meals have been sent to your guest room, your wife is there too.”

Zhou Chu said, ”Thank you, Gang Leader, I’ll take my leave.”

Zhou Chu turned and left, Chen Jie and Zhao Ya sat down; Zhao Ya remarked, ”Chen Jiusi, I see your ranks are full of talents.”

Chen Jie said, ”Oh, why does the Commandery Princess say so?”

Zhao Ya said, ”Under your command, there’s martial talent like Chen Xiaohu and Zhou Chu, and intellectuals like Si Xi and Wu Zhong. Even Chen Heng and Chen Wang are first-rate talents; no wonder your Fishing Guild has become the largest band in Mianshui.”

Chen Jie heard this and said, ”Commandery Princess, you’re too kind. Jiu Si owes his success to your help, without which I wouldn’t have developed to where I am today.”

Zhao Ya laughed, ”Oh you, you’re quite skilled at paying compliments, aren’t you, Chen Jiusi!”

”Commandery Princess misunderstands; every word of Chen Jiusi is true, there is no flattering here.”

As they spoke, both Chen Jie and Zhao Ya couldn’t help but laugh.

After laughing, Zhao Ya looked at Chen Jie and asked, ”What are we going to do next?”

”Hit them hard.”

”Hard?”

Zhao Ya was quite surprised; Chen Jie said, ”Tomorrow, a batch of grain will arrive from Huangzhou Prefecture, totaling 100,000 stones.”

On hearing this, Zhao Ya’s eyes widened, ”Not 30,000? Oh, oh...”

She immediately understood; Chen Jie said, ”True and false, false and true, this is the essence of strategy.”

Zhao Ya said, ”Chen Jiusi, no wonder you are so confident, you have so many tricks, I must say I admire it.”

Chen Jie said, ”Commandery Princess, you flatter me. This is just a prelude; I haven’t played my real ’Killing Move’ yet.”

”Killing Move?”

Zhao Ya looked at Chen Jie with curiosity; Chen Jie said, ”Commandery Princess, you’ll see when the time comes.”

Zhao Ya frowned, ”Why do you always like to keep it vague and mysteriously?”

Chen Jie smiled but did not speak.

...

Yelu Mansion.

Pa!

A Ru Porcelain bowl from the Song era shattered violently on the ground, breaking into pieces with the sound of ’pa’, it was Yelu’s favorite Song Lotus Ru Porcelain bowl but he smashed it relentlessly.

Even so, it didn’t ease his pain and resentment, he grit his teeth nursing his anger.

At this moment, the steward said, ”Master, calm down.”

”Calm down, how can I calm down? A full 100,000 stones of grain has become someone else’s clothes! It’s simply infuriating me, Chen Jiusi, Chen Jiusi, I vow eternal enmity with you!”

Yelu roared in anger.

The steward could only wait beside him, waiting for Yelu to calm down.

After a long time, Yelu finally spoke, ”Send someone to notify those Suzhou merchants and Zhou Peng, tell them that today’s stolen grain is only 100,000 stones, far from enough to fill Mianshui’s gap. They mustn’t be fooled by Chen Jiusi and panic!”

The steward replied, ”Master, we can’t make any money, why bother with their business?”

Yelu sneered, ”Hmph, even if we don’t earn a cent, Chen Jiusi won’t profit either!”
