A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1547: Chapter 1537: Unmatched by Anyone

Luo Yao made three dishes and a soup, all of which Mu Yan likes.

Looking at the delicious spread on the table, Mu Yan was a bit surprised, ”How did you know I like these?”

”I asked Mu Chen,” Luo Yao replied with a smile.

Mu Yan looked at her in surprise, ”Did you already predict you would be cooking for me?”

”Sis, are you silly? Do you need to predict that? At times like these, isn’t it only natural for the sister-in-law to entertain the sister?” Luo Yao laughed.

A hint of sadness suddenly appeared in her eyes as she glanced at the unused set of utensils nearby. Unfortunately, Mu Chen wasn’t there.

Mu Yan knew what she was thinking and said with a smile, ”Alright then, during future holidays, when I go back to my family home, you have to prepare a big feast for me, like a full Manchu-Han banquet.”

Luo Yao laughed at her, ”In that case, I’ll have to work hard to learn how to cook. Sis, hurry up and taste it, tell me how it is?”

”Okay.” Mu Yan smiled as she picked up her chopsticks, took a piece of fish into her mouth, and just as she started to chew, her stomach churned, and she covered her mouth as if she was going to vomit.

”What’s wrong? Is it not tasty?” Luo Yao was startled.

Mu Yan suppressed the nausea, shook her head at Luo Yao, and rested her hand on her belly, saying with a smile, ”He’s a bit playful.”

Luo Yao followed her line of sight, her heart skipping a beat, ”You... you’re pregnant?”

”Yes.” Mu Yan nodded with a smile, ”You’re going to be an aunt.”

”That’s just wonderful.” Luo Yao said with delight, grinning foolishly like a child.

Once she calmed down, she asked, ”How far along are you?”

”Almost two months,” Mu Yan replied.

”Morning sickness so early on,” Luo Yao marveled, ”No wonder I thought you’ve lost so much weight. I thought it was because of those things online. But what exactly is going on with you and brother-in-law?”

Although Luo Yao had become more mature than before, her direct nature hadn’t changed. She spoke her mind openly.

Mu Yan chuckled, ”What’s online isn’t true. We won’t get divorced.”

Luo Yao nodded, ”If you say you won’t, then it’s definite. But I heard brother-in-law went missing, you didn’t scare him away, did you?”

Mu Yan, ”...”

Am I really that scary?

Luo Yao knew what she was thinking and giggled, ”I might not know brother-in-law well, but I’ve heard about Young Master Jiang’s character. This is what they mean by ’iron forged into softness around the finger’.”

Mu Yan opened her mouth, was Jiang Jingheng’s love for her that obvious?

”Does brother-in-law know about the baby?”

”I don’t know for sure, probably not,” Mu Yan shook her head.

Yu Ma is Jiang Wenhui’s person, she probably wouldn’t tell Jiang Jingheng.

”Seeing it this way, brother-in-law is quite pitiful,” Luo Yao sighed.

Mu Yan was somewhat speechless at her sympathetic gaze, but after thinking about it, there seemed to be some truth to it.

Especially after seeing Mu Chen’s letter, all the previous mysteries were resolved.

After the meal, Mu Yan was about to leave.

Before she left, she asked Luo Yao about her plans moving forward.

Previously, Luo Yao had quit her job to take care of Mu Chen.

”Sis, you don’t have to worry about me, I’m an adult. I can solve work matters myself. If I truly can’t, I’ll be sure to ask for your help unreservedly.” Luo Yao said with a smile.

Mu Yan nodded. She initially hoped Luo Yao could continue as her assistant, but she didn’t want Luo Yao to be burdened by the title of her brother’s widow, subjected to unnecessary attention.

In the end, life is about simplicity, being happy and comfortable is what matters.

After Mu Yan left, Luo Yao went to Mu Chen’s shrine and offered an incense stick.

”See, you’re going to be an uncle soon. She truly is happy, she’s really hard not to like, and I can’t even muster any jealousy towards her.”

Luo Yao smiled, ”However, I am your wife, and that’s something no one else can match.”
