A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1513: Chapter 1503: Cooperation

After seeing off Kong Yanzi, Mu Yan called Yu Ma to come over and prepare dinner.

Having not seen her for a while, Yu Ma vaguely noticed some changes in Mu Yan, but couldn’t quite articulate them.

”Young Madam, I’ll go prepare dinner first.”

”Okay.” Mu Yan nodded, leaning back on the sofa, flipping through the album in her hand.

Once dinner was ready, Mu Yan then asked Yu Ma to go home.

”Come back tomorrow to tidy up. Tonight, I want some time alone.”

Yu Ma glanced at her and replied, ”Yes!”

Mu Yan looked at the table full of delicious dishes, but had little appetite. She symbolically ate a bit, then put down her chopsticks.

She picked up two plates of food and went straight to the bathroom, dumping them into the toilet and flushing them away.

Not long after dinner, Mu Yan received a call from Jiang Wenhui.

”Nuannuan, why didn’t you tell me when you returned to Upper City? If it weren’t for the news, I wouldn’t have known you were back. It’s been a long time, and everyone at home misses you. How have you been lately?”

Mu Yan smiled, ”Pretty good. How about you, Sister Wen Hui?”

”We’re just the same as always, only worried about you and Jing Heng.” Jiang Wenhui paused and said, ”Nuannuan, do you know where Jing Heng is?”

”I don’t know.” Mu Yan’s face immediately darkened. ”I haven’t contacted him in a long time. I’m planning to go to Italy with my godmother soon.”

”Going to Italy? Nuannuan, what do you mean by this?”

”Sister Wen Hui, as you said before, no matter what happens between Jing Heng and me, you’ll always treat me as a sister, and I feel the same way.” Mu Yan said softly.

”How did things come to this point? Is there nothing the two of you can sit down and talk through?”

”Sister Wen Hui, there’s no way.” She paused and then asked, ”I heard that Grandpa is sick. How is he now?”

”Not too good, the doctor said the blood pressure is too high, some cerebral hemorrhage, now he’s had a stroke, can’t speak, consciousness is quite blurry, let alone move independently.”

”So serious? Then I’ll go visit him tomorrow.” Mu Yan said with a furrowed brow.

She hung up the phone, her brows deeply furrowed, lost in thought.

After a moment of silence, she dialed another number.

”Is there still no news of him?”

”Alright, then tell me the current situation of Shengyuan Group, don’t leave out any details.”

In Shengyuan Group, inside the deputy general manager’s office, Jiang Wenhui put her phone into her bag and got up to leave.

The whole floor’s lights were turned off except for those in her office. Seeing her about to leave, the secretary asked: ”Deputy General Manager, do you need a car?”

”No, Cheng An is occupied for the next few days, I’ll just drive myself.” Jiang Wenhui smiled at the secretary, ”You all can clock out too.”

”Okay, take care, Deputy General Manager.”

Watching Jiang Wenhui leave, the secretary breathed a sigh of relief and immediately announced to the office that they could clock out.

Following this strong female deputy general manager, they were incredibly busy. Now it seems compared to when Second Young Master Jiang was here, it’s like moving from hell to heaven.

As night deepens, in the apartment, everything is pitch black, shadows of the night reflecting inside, faintly revealing the silhouette of someone standing by the window.

It’s unclear how much time passed, but suddenly the door was pushed open, and someone entered.

That person looked around, adapted to the dark of the room, and their gaze landed on the silhouette.

”Young Master, you’re not yet recovered, how can you be up?”

”Have the people been arranged?” The man’s deep voice sounded.

”Rest assured, I’ve dispatched three groups to ensure the Young Madam’s safety without any mistakes, but...”

”Hmm?”

”It’s just that the Young Madam is very anxious, constantly asking me about your whereabouts. By the looks of it, she’s not concerned about Young Master Mu Chen’s matter anymore. I don’t understand why you continue to avoid her?”

Lian Jun’s words fell, and the room plunged into silence.

After a long while, the man’s deep voice sounded again, ”It’s enough that she knows I’m here. Work well with him.”

Lian Jun didn’t understand his intentions, but as an assistant, he knew what he ought to do.

”Yes!”
