A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1522: Chapter 1512: Mu Chen’s Posthumous Work

In the afternoon, Lin Jiamu suddenly called her, asking to meet up, saying there was something important he needed to discuss with her.

Ever since she found out that Mom’s death was somehow connected to Lin Jiamu, she had cut off contact with him.

But now that she knew Mom wasn’t dead, all that hatred seemed to have vanished like smoke.

Moreover, he had always been considerate towards Mu Chen, especially during the time Mu Chen passed away, he frequently visited the hospital, which she was very grateful for.

She didn’t hesitate much and agreed.

The two agreed to meet at a private dining restaurant run by his friend.

Upon reaching the destination, Mu Yan asked the driver to wait outside and went in by herself.

Lin Jiamu arrived earlier than her and was standing at the door talking to a friend.

Seeing her arrive, he immediately came to greet her, ”You’re here.”

Mu Yan nodded slightly to him, ”Yes.”

Lin Jiamu gave her a look, seemingly wanting to say something but refrained, then noticing she looked unwell, he said, ”Come with me.”

In the private room, Lin Jiamu poured her a glass of water and asked, ”Are you feeling unwell?”

”A bit carsick.” Mu Yan took a sip of water, suppressing the nausea.

”Why don’t we switch places?” Lin Jiamu asked.

Mu Yan shook her head, ”No need, I’ll be fine in a bit.”

She took another sip of water and looked at Lin Jiamu, ”Why did you want to see me?”

”Let’s eat first, we’ll talk while eating.” Lin Jiamu said.

Mu Yan nodded; she didn’t have anything to do that evening anyway.

However, she didn’t know Lin Jiamu’s ulterior motives, that it was hard for him to get the chance to meet her after so long, he wanted to spend a bit more time with her.

Soon, the dishes were served, all ordered according to her preferences.

Mu Yan took a few bites and found the food matched her taste very well; she hadn’t eaten much at lunch, so she was quite hungry.

Lin Jiamu, seeing her eating non-stop, was a bit surprised, ”Did you not have enough for lunch?”

”I didn’t eat much, but the food here is really good.”

”If you like it, I can ask my friend to send you some every day,” Lin Jiamu immediately said.

However, after saying that, he realized he might have misspoken, and glanced at Mu Yan nervously.

Mu Yan thought for a moment, nodded, ”That’s a good suggestion.”

Lin Jiamu was shocked; was she serious?

Mu Yan looked at him in surprise, ”Are you backing out?”

”Of course not!” Lin Jiamu immediately said.

Mu Yan couldn’t help but let out a chuckle, ”Then it’s settled, I’ll leave the address in a moment.”

As she spoke, she lowered her head to take a sip of soup, it really tasted good.

She felt like it had been ages since she had a proper meal.

”Eat slowly, don’t choke,” Lin Jiamu laughed, feeling a huge sense of relief as the meeting was going smoother than he had expected.

Seeing she had almost finished eating, Lin Jiamu started discussing the main matter, ”I’m going to release a new album soon.”

”Congratulations,” Mu Yan nodded and said.

”No, the person most deserving of congratulations isn’t me,” Lin Jiamu shook his head.

”Hmm?” Mu Yan looked at him in surprise.

Lin Jiamu explained, ”The lyrics and composition for those songs were all done by Mu Chen, I’m just the singer.”

”You mean Chenchen?” Mu Yan was a bit surprised, ”Since when? Why didn’t I know?”

”Actually, these past few years, while he was in the hospital, he was continuously creating music. Some of my previous albums also featured his work, but he didn’t want it mentioned, and this album was made according to his last wishes.”

As Lin Jiamu spoke, he took out a CD from his bag and handed it to her, ”This is a sample of the new album; the official release will take some time, but you can take it home to listen first.”
