A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1512: Chapter 1502: Protection

Kong Lizhen was somewhat surprised, ”Why go back to Upper City? The waters are deep over at the Jiang Family. For some people, your pregnancy is not good news. It’s too dangerous. Come with me to Italy and meet your uncle and aunt.”

”Mom, not now.” Mu Yan directly refused.

”Yanyan!” Kong Lizhen tried to persuade her.

”Mom, I have something very important that I must deal with in Upper City. I’ll visit Uncle and Aunt with Jing Heng in the future.” Mu Yan said sincerely.

Seeing that her daughter’s mind was made up, Kong Lizhen showed a hint of helplessness, ”Alright, I can’t convince you, but Yanyan, I’ve almost lost you once before. I won’t allow anything to harm you this time.”

”Mom, don’t worry, I will take good care of myself.” Mu Yan smiled at her.

Looking at her daughter’s innocent demeanor, Kong Lizhen felt a bit of helplessness in her heart. How could she not worry?

Grandma directly disagreed upon hearing that Mu Yan wanted to return to Upper City.

Unfortunately, Mu Yan’s mind was set, and since Kong Lizhen agreed, she reluctantly consented in the end.

Kong Lizhen had to stay in Beijing to assist with the investigation due to Liang Rong’s case, so she couldn’t accompany Mu Yan to Upper City. Fortunately, Kong Yanzi came to stay with Mu Yan.

That afternoon, Mu Yan returned to Upper City with Kong Yanzi.

Even though she hadn’t appeared on screen for a long time, her popularity remained high.

As soon as she stepped out of the arrival gate, she encountered many fans asking for her autograph.

Kong Yanzi knew she was pregnant and naturally resisted letting people get close, planning to have bodyguards keep them away, but Mu Yan stopped him.

She took the notebook from a fan’s hands and signed her name.

Seeing her at the front, more fans came over.

Frowning, Kong Yanzi worried that the crowd might jostle Mu Yan, so he told the later arrivals, ”Mu Yan is very tired today, the signing stops here.”

Mu Yan glanced at him, knowing he was concerned about her well-being, didn’t object, apologized to the fans behind her, and then left.

In the car, Kong Yanzi asked Mu Yan, ”During this time, you should stay at the Kong Family’s villa in Upper City.”

Mu Yan shook her head, ”No, I want to go home.”

Kong Yanzi frowned, ”He’s missing now, it’s not safe for you to stay there.”

”No, it won’t be.” Mu Yan said firmly.

”Hmm?”

”He will protect me.”

Seeing the determination on her face, Kong Yanzi frowned but said nothing.

At Jinxiu Villa, Mu Yan opened the door and went in. The house was spotless, it seemed Yu Ma had been coming to clean every day.

Mu Yan invited Kong Yanzi to sit in the living room, then went upstairs to her room.

In the bedroom, the previous mess was gone; the floor was shiny as new, and the quilt neatly folded, matched with pink curtains, giving off a fresh and clean vibe.

This gave her an illusion that the chaos she saw before was just a dream.

She stood by the bed, looking at the painting of blooming sunflowers on the opposite wall.

When he first hung this painting, she felt embarrassed, given his collection included many treasures.

But now, she realized he genuinely liked this painting, liked it so much he wanted to see it every day.

No, what he liked wasn’t just the painting but that first love, it was her.

In the past, it was him protecting her, keeping her safe under his wings. Now, she must also learn to protect him, to protect this love.
