Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2649: Chapter 2649: Opportunists Who Judge by Appearances

”Your Majesty...”

Eunuch Fu saw the Emperor coming out and stepped forward.

He had also heard the shouting inside and couldn’t help but wonder, what had the Emperor said to the Retired Emperor that caused him to be so enraged and want to execute all the Yu Family members?

Isn’t the Retired Emperor currently relying heavily on the Yu Family?

”Back to the imperial study room.”

The Emperor had no desire to linger here and immediately raised his foot to leave.

Once the Emperor departed, the numerous palace maids and eunuchs in the Regency Hall dared not enter and risk angering the Retired Emperor.

To enter now would undoubtedly be seeking death; in his fury, the Retired Emperor might just order them to be beaten to death with random sticks, which they couldn’t afford to provoke.

Moreover, the Regency Hall is hardly attended to by the Emperor anymore, so they have no need to be so obliging to the Retired Emperor; unless he called them, they naturally wouldn’t go in.

The Retired Emperor waited in the hall for a long time, not seeing a single palace maid or eunuch come in, which made him even angrier.

”These damned slaves, truly they’ve grown tired of living!”

He knew these slaves were all cunning, people who chose their actions based on the situation; now seeing him lose power, they no longer took him seriously.

”Hoo!”

He exhaled heavily, pressing a single hand to his chest, which throbbed with pain.

”Brat, don’t let me catch you, or I will surely tear you to pieces, along with those wretches from the Yu Family, I won’t spare a single one!”

The urgent matter now was to deal with the people from the Yu Family; they’d kept secrets from him for so many years, allowing Dowager Consort Yu to birth two sons in Ying City, apparently living quite contentedly.

He must make the Yu Family pay the price.

No, the Yu Family must be dealt with; if the Yu Family finds out that he already knows about Dowager Consort Yu’s betrayal and they side with that brat, spilling his plans, it would be a huge problem for him.

He closed his eyes, planning to contact his trusted aides tonight to handle everyone in the Yu Family.

...

The Emperor, coming out of the Regency Hall, returned to the imperial study room and saw Minister Gong waiting outside.

”When did Minister Gong arrive?”

”Your humble servant pays respects to the Emperor.”

Gong Jian turned to look at him and knelt down.

The young eunuch outside the imperial study room had told him the Emperor wasn’t inside, but he couldn’t believe it; turns out it was true.

But why did the Emperor walk back to the imperial study room, where had he been?

”Minister, rise.”

The Emperor stepped forward and helped Gong Jian up.

He wasn’t in the best mood, thus wanted to walk alone; as for the Retired Emperor, no matter how angry he was, the Emperor couldn’t find joy in it, as there was still a pile of issues in the Northern Lands waiting for him to resolve.

”Minister, come with me.”

”Yes, Your Majesty.”

Gong Jian responded, following the Emperor into the imperial study room.

”Minister Gong, you have journeyed back from the Southern Lands with much toil; how have matters been handled over there?” the Emperor asked as he sat down and allowed Gong Jian to find a seat.

”In response to Your Majesty, matters in the Southern Lands have been settled; regarding Imperial Censor Feng’s land-grabbing case, the entire Feng Family has admitted guilt and has been imprisoned, along with all other officials headed by Imperial Censor Feng, whose families have all been thrown into prison as well, awaiting Your Majesty’s judgment.”

Gong Jian replied.

The land-grabbing case by Imperial Censor Feng was extensive, causing a stir not only in the Southern Lands but in other regions as well.

Clearly, he was merely an imperial censor, who could easily become an upright official, famous throughout history; yet, Imperial Censor Feng turned it into a corruption-laden scheme.
