Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2607: Chapter 2607: Isn’t He Afraid of Being Impeached by the Court Officials?

Even the concubines sent to the Cold Palace get three meals a day, even if it’s just leftovers. There’s no reason not to send anything and let them starve, right?

Though he spoke pleasantly, saying the Retired Emperor was growing various vegetables and raising poultry, whether he can actually grow and raise them is uncertain. If no food and money are sent, people might truly starve to death!

But since the Emperor has given the order, he dares not ask anymore.

“Yes, your servant will attend to it right away.”

As long as the one starving to death isn’t him, it doesn’t matter who else. Moreover, this was personally ordered by the Emperor, so he just needs to follow the Emperor’s instructions.

…

Soon, news reached the Regency Hall.

With a crashing sound, all the teaware on the table was swept to the floor, and the Retired Emperor’s eyes were bulging with anger.

“How outrageous! To dare act in such a manner, simply insolent!”

He is the father of that insolent wretch, not only has he cut off his meals, but dares to cut off his money too. That unfilial child wants his life, utterly deserving of death!

“What does that unfilial child want to do? Though I am now downfallen, I am still his father. He dares to cut off my provisions, isn’t he afraid that the people will call him unfilial? Isn’t he afraid the civil officials will impeach him?”

He cursed angrily towards the hall’s entrance. If he weren’t stuck in the Regency Hall and unable to leave, he would surely find that unfilial child and scold him thoroughly.

In the mess on the ground, the servants and Palace Maids were all kneeling.

In the hearts of all the servants and Palace Maids was silent resentment. Nowadays in the royal court, who would impeach the Emperor? Everyone knows the Emperor favors the generals and respects the civil officials; apart from a few with ulterior motives, who else would have complaints against the Emperor?

Even if there are complaints, as soon as they hear the name of Prince Zhan and Prince An Yang, who would dare?

Moreover, the so-called crime of great unfilial piety, the Retired Emperor is deep within the palace, served by servants and Palace Maids. Who dares to speak ill of the Emperor outside?

Besides, even if those words were spoken, there must be someone who believes them. Who didn’t know that the Emperor previously indulged the Retired Emperor a lot?

“Go, summon that unfilial child here. I must personally ask him, what exactly he intends to do?” The Retired Emperor angrily ordered the servants and Palace Maids outside the hall.

The servants and Palace Maids felt a jolt in their hearts, a bitter feeling inside.

“Yes, your servant will go now.”

To invite the Emperor here, will he come? A few years ago, the Emperor came often, but the Retired Emperor never saw him, always making the Emperor wait outside the Regency Hall for a long time before sending word that he wouldn’t meet.

Now the tables have turned, the Retired Emperor sends people to plead with the Emperor; will the Emperor still come?

Even if he comes, it might take three to five days, putting these servants and Palace Maids in a difficult position, really… they don’t know what to say.

Forget it, forget it, just go as they must, they are servants and Palace Maids, born to labor; they do as the masters order them.

Once they all left the hall, the Regency Hall echoed with the sound of heavy things being thrown and the curses of the Retired Emperor, unceasing.

Outside the Regency Hall, the servants and Palace Maids stood with their necks shrunk, none dared to speak.

And similarly outside the Regency Hall, those concubines of the Retired Emperor craned their necks to look inside, not knowing what had happened. Several concubines gathered together, whispering to each other.
