Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2622: Chapter 2622: She Gave Birth to Two More Sons

”Yes, yes, I will speak. I will speak now.”

If we were to discuss the deeds of Dowager Consort Yu and the Fifteenth Prince in Ying City, it would actually take a whole day and night to cover, because there are simply too many.

Currently, the city of Ying is sparsely populated, with vacant houses, and even the number of businesses is pitifully few, only a handful remain.

The common people have been forced by Dowager Consort Yu and the Fifteenth Prince to pay various taxes under different pretenses, tributes, and so on, making it unbearable for them to remain in the city, so they had no choice but to return to their old homes, which means the countryside.

As for the merchants, the money they earn isn’t enough to fill the hole left by Dowager Consort Yu and her son. Who can tolerate that? They all scramble to other Prefectural Cities to do business instead.

Currently, the prefect of Ying City is entirely at a loss. Apart from field and land taxes, there’s no hope for business taxes, and even for the former two types of taxes, Ying City must be able to grow crops.

Just like now, a drought has struck, and the common people have hardly any grain stored.

...

The city still presents a desolate scene.

Because it rained, there’s hardly anyone on the streets, likely holed up at home storing water.

”Mother, this place is even more desolate than Black Flame City.”

Qian Yinuo glanced left and right as he walked and spoke to his mother.

”You still remember Black Flame City?”

An Jiuyue lowered her head to look at her son. Black Flame City was a city they had once visited in another plane.

A large city, but sparsely populated. It is said that people who live there for too long gradually become demonic, and can only survive in that city for three to five years at most.

Those residing in Black Flame City were typically those advanced in age, tormented by illness, and terrified of death. Living there allowed them to evade death and spared them from pain.

However, when they visited there, the little baby was only just learning to walk. She thought he wouldn’t remember.

”Of course I remember, there were so few people in Black Flame City, just like here.” Qian Yinuo said.

Upon hearing this, An Jiuyue’s gaze darkened.

It’s surprising that there’s a place in the Daqing Kingdom as forsaken as Black Flame City. It seems the lives of Dowager Consort Yu and the Fifteenth Prince should no longer be spared.

”Master, I have returned.”

The secret guard who was sent out earlier returned.

”Did you gather information?”

An Jiuyue raised an eyebrow, was it really this quick?

Could it be that the deeds of Dowager Consort Yu and her son weren’t numerous enough, so a few words were sufficient to cover them?

”Speak.”

”Well... Master, there’s simply no end to the wrongdoings committed by Dowager Consort Yu and her son. To sum it up in one sentence, in the eyes of the people of Ying City, it’s intolerable for them to remain unpunished.”

The secret guard reported.

Previously, he went to gather information, asking only a single question to the people in the city, claiming the royal court had sent people to punish the mother and son. Little did he expect, the people would become extremely agitated upon hearing this.

What was originally an empty street, he had no idea where the people came from, but they surrounded them, each speaking over one another, causing quite a commotion.

In any case, he didn’t clearly understand what the people said but arrived at one conclusion: Even if Dowager Consort Yu and her son died a thousand times, it wouldn’t be enough to quench the anger of Ying City’s people!

”There is another matter I overheard.”

”What matter?”

An Jiuyue asked, wondering what else could there be?

”It’s that Dowager Consort Yu, after arriving in Ying City, bore two more sons,” the secret guard said.

”Ha.”

An Jiuyue let out a soft laugh.

”It’s quite unexpected that the Retired Emperor is indeed fortunate to have gained two more sons.”
