Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2617: Chapter 2617: Easy on Them

She smiled and looked at Mr. Shen, and said.

“You… What exactly are you… Uh!”

Before Mr. Shen could ask his question, Qian Jiyun had already snapped his neck, preventing him from speaking further.

“Instruct men to seize Shen Mansion, confiscate all the money and fill the treasury, and report to the royal court.” Qian Jiyun ordered into the air, and the secret guards outside were about to receive orders and leave.

“Wait a moment.”

An Jiuyue opened the door and called the people back.

“Master, what are your orders?” The secret guards returned and knelt down to ask.

“Delay the matters here until the grain issues are resolved, then seize Shen Mansion.” An Jiuyue ordered.

She had managed to exchange her grain for money at a high price, and couldn’t let Shen Mansion scare those people away.

Moving against Shen Mansion would surely involve the Imperial Kinsmen. With the arrival of the Imperial Kinsmen in Guangye City, even the most capable person must remain quiet for a while.

“Yes, Master.”

The secret guards received the order and proceeded to detain the people of Shen Mansion for now.

…

Three days later.

The horse caravans came from Wuwang County and entered Guangye City.

Informed beforehand by the guards at the city gates, they were let in without further questions.

Of course, to let in such a large caravan, some money had to be spent. The guards at the gates received quite a few benefits, approved by their superiors, allowing the soldiers to reap profits.

“Ha, they’ve really benefitted this time.”

Sheng Qingyu sat at the tea stall beside the city gate, watching the caravans enter, handing several money bags to the guards.

“Lord, the guards at the gates are hardworking too. Subordinates heard that, lately, they go to the mountains to hunt and gather wild vegetables whenever they have time and are searching for water sources everywhere.”

The attendant beside Sheng Qingyu spoke favorable words for the guards.

Lately, everyone is struggling, unable to eat well or sleep well. Who among them has had a peaceful sleep or a full meal?

“Why are you in such a hurry? I didn’t say they couldn’t accept those benefits.” Sheng Qingyu laughed.

Receiving benefits should be selective, shouldn’t it? If it were poor folk, of course, they couldn’t accept them, but for people like Steward Hao or Lord Qi, he thought it was reasonable to collect as much as possible.

“How many horse carriages are there?” he asked.

“In response to the lord, over a hundred carriages have passed.” The attendant replied.

Lord Qi and the others were really swimming in wealth, able to gather so much money in such a short time, demonstrating their considerable strength behind the scenes.

This isn’t silver certificates, but actual money, which can be easily tucked into one’s chest.

“Count them here. I’ll be leaving now. Oh, go and tell Master Ji to keep track and not let these people have it too easy.”

…

“Already arrived? So soon?”

Master Ji was at the granary when Sheng Qingyu’s attendant came over, prompting him to come out.

Upon hearing the Qi brothers’ silver had arrived, although this batch wasn’t his share, he was genuinely delighted.

Selling grain at 100 copper coins per jin, and then making them sell at a reasonable price, would be wonderful news, surely bringing joy to the populace, celebrating with their families if they knew.

“Just perfect for making this transaction today, saving tomorrow’s warehouse rental costs.” He rubbed his palms and smiled even more jubilantly.

This warehouse was rented by them, originally used for grain storage among other things. Now with grain prices soaring, it stood empty.
