Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2631: Chapter 2631: City Defense Force Notice

Behind him, there followed about twenty maids, all of whom looked quite decent. They must have been forcibly brought into the residence by him over the past few years, right?

”Ji’er, you’re just in time. Come with Consort Wen to have a look outside.”

Dowager Consort Yu saw her eldest son and reached out to pull him close. With him there, Prince Zhan wouldn’t dare do anything to them, mother and son. Prince Zhan wouldn’t possibly dare to kill the Retired Emperor’s own son, would he?

”Alright, Mother. I also want to see who is so bold. I shall eliminate his entire clan!” The Fifteenth Prince arrogantly placed one hand on his hip, shouting.

This phrase was something he often had on his lips because Consort Wen had told him that he would definitely ascend to the throne to become Emperor in the future. So, as Emperor, wouldn’t he have the power to exterminate entire clans?

Upon hearing her son’s words, Dowager Consort Yu steadied her heart once more.

Indeed, what was there to fear? Hadn’t the Retired Emperor promised her that once the great task was accomplished, her son would be the Crown Prince, and thus the future Emperor?

How could Prince Zhan dare touch her?

”Come, let’s go and see.”

She held the Fifteenth Prince’s hand and led a group of servants toward the gate.

...

Outside the gate of the Prince’s Mansion, it was already surrounded tightly.

Not only were there soldiers from the City Defense Force, but also commoners who came after hearing news to see what was happening. Those who could read were pointing at the announcement posted outside the gate.

”This says that the common people of Ying City, if anyone has had family members taken by the Prince’s Mansion, they can come here to register and be entered into the list. Then the authorities will follow the list to return them.”

”Is this true? This is the Prince’s Mansion, after all. The Prefectural Master couldn’t handle it for years, and now they can manage the people inside the Prince’s Mansion?” The commoners were amazed; the Prince’s Mansion was surrounded as soon as they said it would be. Could it be that their Prefectural Master had decided to resist?

Hardly possible. If the Prefectural Master intended to resist, he would have done so long ago. Why wait until now?

”Scholar Liu, tell us, what else does it say? Can’t be fooling us, can it?” someone questioned suspiciously.

”An official government announcement can’t be wrong. It’s definitely true.” The man referred to as Scholar Liu took a closer look at the notice before speaking.

Suddenly, his gaze fell to the bottom of the announcement, where the signature was surprisingly not from the prefectural office but the City Defense Force.

”Hold on, this is an announcement from the City Defense Force, not the prefectural office.”

What’s going on? The City Defense Force had always refrained from interfering with Ying City’s administrative affairs, focusing solely on the city’s security. So why did they suddenly involve themselves with the Prince’s Mansion?

”An announcement by the City Defense Force? What’s going on?” Upon hearing Scholar Liu’s words, the crowd was puzzled.

Could it be that those soldiers finally couldn’t tolerate Dowager Consort Yu and her son and mustered the courage to rebel against them? This would truly be a great news.

But something about this situation doesn’t seem right.

Even if the City Defense Force rebelled against the mother and son, why wouldn’t the prefectural office intervene? How could they let the City Defense Force surround the Prince’s Mansion?

”When did the City Defense Force start handling such matters? Might they be teaming up with the people in the Prince’s Mansion to harm everyone?”

It’s wise to be cautious. Naturally, some were suspicious, having already been deceived by Dowager Consort Yu and her son. If they hastily believed any small disruption, they’d perish without understanding how they died.
