Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 238: Chapter 238: Why Are You Angry?

In his impression, the CEO has never been like this before! What’s wrong with the CEO? Is he troubled by the matter with his wife again?

Seeing Pete standing there staring blankly at him, Mu Beiting squinted his eyes and gave him a cold glance.

Pete shivered involuntarily and quickly turned to leave.

After Pete left, Mu Beiting’s gaze landed on the phone atop the desk.

Thinking for a moment, he picked up the phone and dialed the familiar number.

The phone rang for a long time but no one answered!

Only when the busy signal appeared did Mu Beiting slam the phone back onto the desk, his icy eyes narrowing into slits with a cold glint.

......

After school at four-thirty, Ye Anxin and Ling Yueyue walked hand in hand out of the school! Just as they exited the gates, they saw a business car parked not far from the entrance.

Ye Anxin’s face lit up with joy, quickly said goodbye to Yueyue, and then hurried to the business car.

However, upon seeing only the driver inside, her face fell instantly, ”Driver Uncle, why is it only you? Uncle didn’t come!”

She thought Uncle had come to pick her up! But unexpectedly, only the driver came!

Ye Anxin sighed helplessly, opened the car door, and sat in the back.

The driver explained, ”Madam, it was Sir who asked me to pick you up! At this time, Sir should still be at the company! There have been quite a few matters at the company recently!”

”Oh! Okay, I understand!” Ye Anxin nodded, holding the shopping bag tightly to her chest, unable to hide a sweet smile.

After returning to the villa, Ye Anxin went upstairs directly to hide the shopping bag, preparing to surprise Mu Beiting.

She thought Mu Beiting would be like before, leaving work on time, having dinner together, and then she’d cover his eyes, lead him upstairs, and finally present her gift! Uncle would surely be very happy.

However, by seven in the evening, an hour past dinnertime, there was still no sign of Mu Beiting.

Ye Anxin sat on the sofa in the living room, frequently turning to look at the door.

The butler came over from the dining hall and said with concern, ”Madam, it seems Sir is busy today and probably won’t be back for dinner! You should eat first! I’ve already instructed the servants to heat the food again! Eat while it’s still hot!”

Ye Anxin originally wanted to refuse, but thinking about the baby in her belly, she finally stood up, went to the dining table, sat down, and mechanically ate.

She finished a bowl of rice tastelessly.

Ye Anxin wiped the oil from the corner of her mouth, took out the phone from her pants pocket to call Mu Beiting! Only when she took out the phone did she realize there was a missed call!

The call was made at noon while she was dining with Ling Yueyue!

So Uncle called her at noon, but she didn’t hear it?

Thinking of this, Ye Anxin immediately dialed Mu Beiting.

The call connected but no one answered!

Ye Anxin, dejected, put the phone back in her pocket.

Could Uncle be angry because she didn’t answer his call at noon?

Thinking of this, Ye Anxin suddenly stood up, ”Butler, I’m going to bring Uncle some food! It’s this late, and Uncle is busy; I don’t know if he’s had dinner yet!” With that, she headed towards the kitchen.

”Madam, let me do it! You can wait in the living room!” The butler dared not let Ye Anxin do anything, quickly reaching out to take the food container she was tidying and cleaning.

Ye Anxin dodged the butler’s hand, smiling, ”No need, I’ll do it myself! Brother Pete is with Uncle, if Uncle hasn’t eaten, he surely hasn’t either! I’ll bring him a portion too! You go outside and tell the driver to wait for me at the entrance!”

”Okay, I’ll take care of that!” Seeing Ye Anxin’s determined attitude, the butler no longer insisted but directly went to call the driver.

Ye Anxin washed the thermal food container, then filled it with rice, and finally added the still steaming dishes.

The good thing is, this thermal food container’s capacity is large, it was specifically bought when Uncle got injured last time, and it’s plenty for two people’s portions.

Once the food was packed, Ye Anxin directly carried the container out the door, got into the business car that was ready, and headed towards the Mu Building.

It was after work hours now, and in the Mu Building, aside from a few security guards, all other employees had left for the day!

After explaining her intention, the security guard hesitated to look at her, then called Pete. Only after Pete gave the word did they let Ye Anxin in.

”Thank you!” Ye Anxin thanked them with a smile and quickly took the exclusive elevator for the CEO, headed straight to the top-floor CEO office.

Unfortunately, when she arrived at the CEO’s office, it was empty! Mu Beiting’s phone was quietly lying on the desk.

Just as Ye Anxin was wondering, Pete’s voice sounded behind her, ”Madam, the CEO is in the conference room, please wait a moment!”

”Uncle’s in a meeting?” Ye Anxin asked in surprise.

The employees of Mu Group had finished work, so why were they still in a meeting!

Pete nodded, explaining, ”Yes! It’s a video conference with the United States!”

Ye Anxin suddenly understood and nodded, ”Oh! Okay! Then, don’t worry, I’ll just wait for Uncle in the office. You guys carry on, don’t mind me! I’m familiar here!”

”Then I’ll head downstairs!” Pete glanced at the food container in Ye Anxin’s hand and then turned to leave.

Once Pete left, Ye Anxin walked into Mu Beiting’s office, placed the food container on the desk, and habitually found a book on the bookshelf, curled up on the sofa reading.

When Mu Beiting finished the meeting and returned, he saw Ye Anxin quietly reading on the sofa.

Ye Anxin was engrossed in reading and didn’t notice the approaching footsteps.

Only when Mu Beiting sat down on the sofa and cleared his throat did she snap back to reality, glanced at Mu Beiting, and sweetly smiled, ”Uncle, you’re done with the meeting?”

Mu Beiting nodded lightly, ”Hmm!”

Ye Anxin placed the book on the sofa and asked with concern, ”Have you had dinner?”

Mu Beiting’s eyes shifted, and he said faintly, ”No!”

Upon hearing this, Ye Anxin immediately wore a knowing expression, then got off the sofa, grabbed Mu Beiting’s hand, and led him towards the desk, ”I knew it, once you get busy, you’ll forget to eat! So I specially brought you dinner!”

Mu Beiting looked down at Ye Anxin, his deep eyes flickering twice.

Ye Anxin walked to the desk, let go of Mu Beiting’s hand, and as she placed the food on the table, she said, ”Call Brother Pete in to eat together! I brought some for him too! I know that when Uncle’s busy, he’s also busy, and when Uncle doesn’t eat, he surely hasn’t eaten either!”

Mu Beiting remained silent, his thin lips tightly pressed.
