Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 223: Chapter 222: Is She a Stand-In?

At the moment Xie Yunlu fell into the river, Ye Anxin felt a lightness in her body. Before she could react, she was already carried off the bridge by Mu Beiting, and the rope tied to her loosened and fell to the ground.

Ye Anxin quietly watched Mu Beiting, her eyes showing no emotional fluctuation.

Mu Beiting’s deep eyes examined Ye Anxin from head to toe, asking with concern, ”How do you feel?”

Ye Anxin still quietly looked at him without answering.

At this time, shouldn’t those who narrowly escape death with their beloved tightly embrace and pour out their hearts to each other?

But Uncle’s eyes are so calm; not only do they show no emotion, there isn’t even a hint of concern!

Mu Beiting reached out to touch her forehead, realizing just then that it was burning hot. He hurriedly bent down to carry her in a princess hold and strode down the bridge.

Pete, who somehow arrived in time, quickly helped Mu Beiting drive the business car, taking Mu Beiting and Ye Anxin straight to the hospital.

In the car, Ye Anxin sat quietly, not crying, not fussing, and not smiling, just like a statue, sitting there far away from Mu Beiting.

Mu Beiting’s long arm swept her into his embrace, holding her tightly, his warm breath brushing her forehead. His deep voice slowly resounded, ”Were you scared? Don’t worry, it’s all over now. I’ve got everything under control!”

Ye Anxin, who had not reacted until now, finally spoke faintly, ”You took me away, what about Miss Su?”

Mu Beiting frowned, ”Why are you mentioning her?”

Ye Anxin stared blankly at some spot, speaking mechanically, ”The weather is so cold, the river water even colder, she’ll be cold falling into the river!”

Mu Beiting’s brows furrowed tighter, a trace of displeasure appearing in his eyes.

Pete glanced at Mu Beiting and Ye Anxin through the rearview mirror, seeing the increasingly strange atmosphere in the car, he couldn’t help but speak up: ”Madam, rest assured, the police just called, Miss Su has already been rescued, and now she’s on her way to the hospital! She wasn’t in the water for long, she should be fine!”

Ye Anxin said indifferently, ”Then let’s go see Miss Su first!”

”Uh...!” Pete hesitated, unsure how to answer.

Mu Beiting remained silent, his thin lips tightly pressed.

Seeing none of them answering, Ye Anxin stubbornly insisted, ”Go find Miss Su!”

Pete looked helplessly at Mu Beiting through the rearview mirror.

Mu Beiting cast a cold glance at him!

Pete quickly looked away, continuing to drive forward.

Seeing no one speaking up, Ye Anxin also remained silent, quietly lying in Mu Beiting’s arms.

Gradually, perhaps too exhausted, her eyelids grew heavier, and unknowingly, she closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Feeling her even breathing with a bit of warmth, Mu Beiting gently took off his suit jacket and draped it over her.

Soon, the car arrived at the best hospital in the eastern district!

Mu Beiting carried Ye Anxin out of the car, heading straight to the internal medicine fever expert clinic.

Mu Beiting first asked Pete to disperse all the patients in the ward, then placed Ye Anxin on the only hospital bed in the clinic under the doctor’s disgruntled gaze.

Mu Beiting impatiently said, ”My wife has a fever, quickly check her out! She’s also pregnant!”

Upon hearing this, the doctor didn’t dare delay, hastily examining Ye Anxin!

First checking the fever, then using a stethoscope to listen to Ye Anxin’s chest, and flipping her eyelids.

During a series of examinations, Ye Anxin slept deeply, showing no signs of waking.

”Your wife has merely caught a cold, nothing serious! Normally, an injection would be enough! But since she’s pregnant, we can only lower her temperature physically and let her drink ginger tea! Physical cooling is simple, use alcohol to wipe the whole body, especially behind the ears, armpits, neck! Make sure to drink the ginger tea while it’s hot, to ward off the cold!”

Mu Beiting asked, ”How long before she can recover?”

”It’s hard to say! If the cold doesn’t cause a cough, she should be fine in three days! If she starts coughing later, it might take longer. During that time, give her stewed snow pear with fritillaria to drink daily, it could take anywhere from five to ten days to fully recover!”

Mu Beiting confirmed again, ”That’s all it takes?”

The doctor nodded, affirming, ”Yes, that’s all it takes!”

”Alright, I understand!” Knowing Ye Anxin wasn’t in life-threatening danger, Mu Beiting’s tightly knit brows relaxed quite a bit!

He carried the still-sleeping Ye Anxin in large strides out.

After Pete dropped Mu Beiting back at the hotel, he followed Mu Beiting’s instructions to buy alcohol, cotton balls, fritillaria, snow pear, and ginger!

Mu Beiting carried Ye Anxin back to the room, placed her on the bed first, then went to the bathroom to run the water! Once the bathtub was full, he tested the temperature with his hand and, assured, carried Ye Anxin back to the bathroom, gently stripped off her clothes, and placed her carefully into the bathtub.

Mu Beiting washed her very carefully and thoroughly, not missing a single spot, until he had cleaned every inch of Ye Anxin’s body; only then did he drain the bathtub’s water, dried her with a bath towel, carried her out of the bathroom, and laid her on the bed, covering her with the quilt.

Once Mu Beiting finished taking care of everything, the doorbell rang.

Mu Beiting opened the door, and Pete handed the newly purchased items to him, which Mu Beiting took over.

As Mu Beiting turned around, ready to close the door, Pete suddenly spoke, ”Boss, you haven’t rested for several days, now that madam is fine, I’ll ask the hotel to send some food for you! Then have a good rest! Otherwise, when madam wakes up, she’ll feel distressed seeing you like this!”

Mu Beiting’s tall figure paused for a moment, finally nodding as he closed the door.

Pete smiled and quickly went to call the hotel for room service.

Mu Beiting took the alcohol back into the room, poured it into a large bowl, grabbed a cotton ball, dipped it in alcohol, and began wiping Ye Anxin’s body carefully from the neck down.

The body he usually obsessed over, he felt no desire or impulse for at this moment!

His entire mind was focused on Ye Anxin’s health.

Especially the armpits, neck, and behind the ears, Mu Beiting repeatedly wiped those areas!

He used up more than half a bottle of alcohol, and finally, Ye Anxin’s fever dropped considerably.

Mu Beiting sighed in relief, tucked Ye Anxin back under the quilt, then opened the window slightly for ventilation, before leaving the room to take a fruit knife from the coffee table and carefully peel and slice the ginger, which he then placed on the stove to simmer over a low flame.

Fortunately, this was a presidential suite, so the facilities were complete, even though the study rooms in all presidential suites were ornamental and had no practical use, the hotel still always kept such a setup.

Since the hotel’s opening, this was the first time the stove was used.
