Sweet Rebirth: The Little Healer

”Yes, he’ll definitely be able to. Xiaohua’s physical condition is even better than before. Once he can move freely, he’ll be even more agile than he used to be. This is what I find so surprising, and I still haven’t found a logical explanation for it,” Sun Haoran said confidently, though his tone was also filled with confusion.

Gu Qingyu wasn’t concerned with such puzzles. All he cared about was that Hua Yusen could wake up and return to his former self. The fact that he was now in even better shape than before was simply perfect.

The road ahead was still long, and many difficulties awaited. To blaze a trail for his future endeavors, Gu Qingyu still needed many fiercely loyal people to follow him.

”Excellent! That’s wonderful! Keep up the good work on your research.” Gu Qingyu roared with laughter, feeling utterly elated.

Zhao Nuanyue was also overjoyed. Although she had known from Little Red Carp that Hua Yusen would wake up, the moment he truly did, Zhao Nuanyue felt a happiness so immense it was as if she had gained the entire world.

Just then, Feng Wanru and Hua Zhiqiang, having been notified, arrived at the hospital.

Seeing their son awake, Hua Zhiqiang and Feng Wanru burst into tears of joy, completely overcome with emotion.

Their son had finally woken up!

Gu Qingyu and Zhao Nuanyue didn’t try to comfort Hua Zhiqiang and Feng Wanru. They were Hua Yusen’s parents; their love for him was no less than theirs. Moreover, Hua Yusen carried the hopes and future of the Hua family.

It was safe to say that Hua Yusen’s awakening brought immense comfort and benefit to everyone in the Hua family.

After a moment, Hua Yusen said softly, ”Father, Mother, I’m sorry for making you worry.”

”As long as you’re awake and can recover your health, everything was worth it,” Hua Zhiqiang said, his voice choked with emotion. ”Don’t worry, don’t be upset. Just focus on your recovery. Everything will be all right.”

Feng Wanru gripped her son’s hand tightly. ”Oh, Yu Sen, you scared your mother to death. You can’t be so naughty in the future, sleeping in and refusing to wake up.”

”Alright.” Hua Yusen smiled. Looking at his parents, who had aged so much, he knew what a terrible blow they had endured for more than half a year. ”I’ll be good from now on. No more oversleeping.”

Zhao Nuanyue watched from the side as Hua Yusen spoke with his parents, feeling deeply moved.

She had no birth father, and while she had a mother, she had never received much affection. She envied Hua Yusen for having such a family and hoped with all her heart that she and Hua Yusen could one day build such a wonderful family of their own.

Little Red Carp looked up at her older sister’s tear-streaked face and grumbled inwardly, ’Jeez, my silly sister is always getting emotional.’

She was very worried that now that Hua Yusen was awake, the Hu Family wouldn’t acknowledge his previous engagement to Zhao Nuanyue.

If they dared to do so, Little Red Carp would risk all her cultivation to punish the Hu Family.

Hua Yusen looked up and saw Zhao Nuanyue standing against the wall, her eyes red. She had given her spot to his parents, and his heart ached for her.

During all the days he had been in a coma, the person who had spent the most time with him wasn’t his parents, nor his brother and sister, but Zhao Nuanyue.

This woman he loved so deeply, this kind young lady, had stayed by his side without fail, even when he was in a coma, a vegetative state.

Hua Yusen felt he could never repay such deep affection in this lifetime; the only thing he could do was be twice as good to Zhao Nuanyue.

Thankfully, he and Zhao Nuanyue were engaged. In just a few more months, they would be married.

How wonderful!

This was perhaps the one silver lining to his long coma: he wouldn’t have to persuade his parents himself.

When Zhao Nuanyue saw Hua Yusen looking over at her, she quickly wiped away her tears. But her red-rimmed eyes and the tip of her red nose only made her look all the more endearing.

If there weren’t other people around, Hua Yusen would have kissed Zhao Nuanyue fiercely to make this sweet, silly woman understand just how infatuated and fond he was of her.

Feng Wanru and Hua Zhiqiang’s emotions gradually stabilized as they accepted the reality that their son was awake.

Just then, Feng Wanru noticed her son’s gaze resting on Zhao Nuanyue. She smiled and said, ”Yu Sen, this is Nuanyue. She’s your fiancée now. Elder Gu himself was the witness for the engagement. All this time, it’s been Nuanyue taking care of you, keeping you company. When the rest of us had already lost hope, she was the one who kept believing you would wake up. She’s such a good girl; you must treat her well in the future.”

Feng Wanru’s words made both Zhao Nuanyue and Little Red Carp breathe an inward sigh of relief.

’At least Feng Wanru acknowledges the engagement for now.’

Hua Zhiqiang looked at Zhao Nuanyue, then at Elder Gu. Although he said nothing and offered no rebuttal, it was taken as his tacit approval.

However, this silent approval rubbed Little Red Carp the wrong way.

’But it’s fine. Everything is under my control. I won’t allow anyone to bully my sister.’

Gu Qingyu smiled and said, ”This is what you’ve always longed for. Besides, Nuanyue is loyal and deeply devoted; she’s worthy of you cherishing her for a lifetime.”

Hearing the words from Gu Qingyu and Feng Wanru, Hua Yusen smiled blissfully. ”Actually,” he said, ”even though I was unconscious and couldn’t move, I’ve recently been able to hear sounds from the outside world. I know that during my coma, Nuanyue was always encouraging me, always by my side. I even remember all the newspapers and books she read to me. Thank you, Nuanyue.”

”Don’t thank me, you don’t have to,” Zhao Nuanyue said, waving her hands, not daring to bow. ”Everyone was so worried about you. I just did a few small things; it’s nothing worth mentioning.”

”Heh, don’t be so modest,” Hua Yusen chuckled. ”Listening to your voice made me want to wake up every single day, and today, I finally did. I can see everyone and talk to all of you. My body is still a little stiff, but I’m confident that I’ll be able to stand up before long.”

Hua Zhiqiang might be indifferent toward Zhao Nuanyue, but he couldn’t be indifferent toward Hua Yusen. He was especially thrilled to hear his son say he would soon be able to stand.

”Yu Sen, you’re looking good. Get some rest now, don’t talk too much,” Hua Zhiqiang said with a smile. ”I’ll wait for the day you can stand up, and we’ll throw a proper celebration for you. As for Nuanyue, she’s a good girl; you don’t need to keep stressing the point.”

Zhao Nuanyue was delighted to hear Hua Zhiqiang’s praise.

Little Red Carp, however, wasn’t happy. ’Why does it feel like Hua Zhiqiang was forcing himself when he said that?’ she thought.

’But whatever. After all, Gu Qingyu was the witness.’

’As long as Gu Qingyu is around and my sister doesn’t mess up, Hua Zhiqiang can be as unhappy as he wants, but he won’t be able to change the engagement.’

’Besides, my sister got engaged to Hua Yusen while he was in a vegetative state. If the Hua family dares to break off the engagement, they would surely be scorned by all of society.’

Hua Yusen was indeed getting tired. Hearing his father’s words, he looked at everyone in the room and slowly closed his eyes.
