The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Last night, without knowing how, Gu Yao fell asleep. She was a bit puzzled, but suddenly remembered that she had luckily purchased an item from the Green Glaze Master Shop yesterday. Her heart instantly filled with joy, and she wanted to confirm it again, only to find the card had disappeared. It was then she realized that it was a one-time consumable, meaning she could only use it once.

Gu Yao was a bit unhappy.

Why was it only once? Gu Yao lowered her head and pondered over the events that happened when she activated the viewing privilege yesterday, but her mind only held a pitch-black impression, nothing more.

Gu Yao: ”???”

What’s going on? Why can’t she remember what she saw? She was very puzzled and slightly uneasy—did she get scammed?

Could the Green Glaze Master also scam people?

As soon as this thought came up, Gu Yao shook her head vigorously, muttering to herself: ”Absolutely not, the Green Glaze Master is such a good person, how could they possibly deceive people? Even if they wanted to, why deceive someone out of just 10 credit points?”

That’s right.

To purchase this new item, Gu Yao only spent 10 credit points. This price made her unable to believe it and suspect she had been played.

The transaction details clearly stated -10 credit points, which reassured Gu Yao a little. She thought, what she bought must be useful, it’s just that she hadn’t figured out its exact use yet.

Then.

To verify her thoughts, Gu Yao returned to the Green Glaze Master Shop, hoping to find some people with the same doubts to exchange ideas and discuss.

But!

As soon as Gu Yao reached the street of the Qingyou Shop, she was shocked by the overwhelming crowd and traffic.

Moreover, what was everyone saying?

Everyone seemed angry and annoyed.

Gu Yao stood under a streetlamp by the side of the road, tilted her ear, and listened carefully—

”Does the Green Glaze Master not want to run the shop anymore? If so, then don’t run it, but why sell such stuff to mess with everyone?”

”Right, she’s a powerful soul artifact maker. If she wanted money, with a single call, there are plenty who would willingly offer credit points. Why would she do something so harmful to others and not beneficial to herself?”

”10 credit points, I can throw them away, whatever, but I just can’t tolerate such deceptive practices! The Green Glaze Master must give me an explanation.”

”Exactly! She needs to come forward and give us an explanation.”

”Green Glaze Master, come out!”

”If you keep hiding, that implies you’re guilty, admitting that you are secretly using your huge fame to do some scamming, right?”

”Let’s all take action and protest together!”

...

The protests grew louder and louder, crashing onto Gu Yao’s little heart like surging waves. She opened her mouth, her body shivering slightly.

”???”

”What happened?”

”Why are so many people out here denouncing the Green Glaze Master?”

Without answers to her doubts, suddenly someone squeezed forward, accidentally stepping on Gu Yao’s foot. Gu Yao winced in pain and heard the person turn around, saying, ”Sorry.”

Gu Yao quickly replied, ”It’s okay.”

It was a short boy with a face full of pockmarks, his black hair hanging down, covering half of his face. The exposed eye was narrow with a faint ominous glimmer, looking quite creepy. Gu Yao was startled and couldn’t help but step back a few steps.

Then that short boy, who had stepped on her foot, grinned and said hauntingly, ”Kiddo, I’m human, not a ghost, don’t look at me with that terrified expression.”

Gu Yao, hearing this, instantly blushed with shame.

Indeed, how could she judge someone by their appearance?

Moreover, this is just the person’s online avatar, which doesn’t mean they look like this in real life... cough cough... bad choice of words, it should be homely... no no no... it’s unremarkable.

Gu Yao felt embarrassed, and after the unimpressive young man finished speaking, he started squeezing into the crowd again. Gu Yao couldn’t resist asking, ”Brother, are you... also here to denounce the Green Glaze Master?”

The boy didn’t make a sound.

Still squeezing in, but the crowd was too thick, and he couldn’t get in, stamping his foot violently in frustration, cussing, ”These idiots can’t even back up a bit while cursing! They have to block the entrance to the shop too.”

Gu Yao couldn’t help but ask, ”Brother? You still want to buy the new product?”

The boy abruptly stopped, turned his head, and gave Gu Yao a creepy smile, ”Buy! Of course, I will buy. If I don’t, how will I know what these people are cursing about?”

Gu Yao said, ”Right, why are they cursing the Green Glaze Master? Buying and selling are free choices; no one forced them to buy.”

The boy jumped with a hiss, trying to hop onto someone’s head, but failed and was pushed away, landing on the ground awkwardly.

”...” Gu Yao opened her mouth but didn’t know what to say for a moment. After thinking, Gu Yao asked, ”Brother, if you buy the new product from the Green Glaze Master, aren’t you afraid of regretting it like these people?”

”Regret?” The incredibly ugly young man, upon hearing this word, immediately looked displeased, even spitting towards the ground with no grace, saying, ”Regret! Regret for what? If I don’t buy, how can I have a reason to join this group to curse that black-hearted swindler, Green Glaze Master?”

Gu Yao: ”...”

So, she misunderstood, this one is also a Green Glaze Master anti-fan, and a deeply committed one. Gu Yao thought for a second, blinked, and said, ”But the newly listed items haven’t sold out yet, have they? If you want to buy, you don’t need to forcefully squeeze into the shop.”

Perhaps realizing he couldn’t get in, this bizarre-looking short boy had to give up. Upon hearing the young girl beside him speak, he rolled his eyes ungracefully, saying, ”What do you know? Seize the advantage of proximity, understand? If you don’t squeeze into the shop, what if the Green Glaze Master shows up, wouldn’t you miss it?”

”Huh?” Gu Yao opened her mouth wide, ”You mean the Green Glaze Master might appear?”

The boy raised his hand, touched his chin, and struck a thoughtful pose, saying, ”Logically speaking, with such a big issue with the new product, the owner should come out to resolve it. Even if it can’t be resolved, they should come out to soothe the customers.” Then, as if suddenly enlightened, the boy slapped his thigh, saying, ”But come to think of it, the Master’s train of thought is different from others; they surely won’t appear.”

”Wow!”

”I’m off.”

The unsightly boy, after rambling to himself, suddenly turned and left, leaving Gu Yao bewildered, watching him walk away.

Vaguely, Gu Yao saw his online name was... Little Weak Chicken?
