The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1473: Chapter 1473: Might As Well Go Scavenging

Pa!

The smack from Dr. Luo was quick and loud, making even Chu Jiaojiao and the others take a sharp breath.

Ouch.

”Cough, cough...” Ji You held her head and rubbed it vigorously, looking aggrieved, ”Dr. Luo, how could your smack hurt more than Teacher Mu’s?”

Withdrawing his hand, Dr. Luo smiled gently, his tone both soft and gentle, ”I can’t help it, I’m strong, can’t control the force.”

Ji You scratched her head, feeling extremely wronged, ”Didn’t you say I should name a number? You hit me without agreement; that’s not right! Totally not right.”

”Oh?” Dr. Luo elongated his tone, ”Seems like I didn’t hit hard enough.”

”No, no, no...”

”Definitely not.” Ji You hurriedly shook her head, ”How about giving us 100000 points?”

Dr. Luo cast a sidelong glance, too lazy to respond.

Ji You changed her tune, tentatively whispering, ”10000?”

Dr. Luo immediately said, ”Okay.”

”Ah?!!!” Dr. Luo agreed so quickly, Ji You was caught off guard and immediately regretted it, knowing she named the wrong price and should have asked for more.

Seeing Ji You’s look of deep regret, Dr. Luo’s mouth curved slightly upwards, ”I haven’t finished; a total of 10000 points.”

Ji You: ”...”

Chu Jiaojiao and the others also suddenly looked crestfallen.

Ji You argued reasonably, ”No way! 10000 points each! We won’t accept any less.”

Chu Jiaojiao immediately echoed, ”Yes, we won’t accept it.”

Shen Changqing gritted his teeth, ”Too low.”

Sheng Qingyan shook his head, ”Cheap, oh~ Cheap, oh~ Might as well go scavenging, oh~”

Liu Fufeng looked left and right, sneaked a glance at Ji You, then summoned his courage and said, ”Let’s go scavenging.”

Dr. Luo: ”...”

Dr. Luo looked at this group of students, especially Liu Fufeng, who was originally as calm as a breeze, now also stirring things up, suddenly feeling a bit of a headache.

This group of unruly ones.

Dr. Luo was very straightforward, ”That’s all there is; take it or leave it.”

With that said.

Dr. Luo turned and left.

Walking away decisively, without a pause for even half a second, in the blink of an eye he was inside the spaceship cabin.

Ji You and Chu Jiaojiao exchanged glances, Ji You smiled brightly, ”10000 isn’t bad.” Although the work was done by Ji You and four others, they were a group of ten, working together as a team, which is why they made an unexpected gain, and so the earnings must be split evenly among the ten, with each person getting 1000 points, which was ten times what Dr. Luo originally promised.

Chu Jiaojiao laughed, ”Better than nothing.”

Shen Changqing’s eyes sparkled, ”Contentment brings happiness.”

Sheng Qingyan raised his eyelids, giving a dismissive glance at these three satisfied ones, muttered, ”Satisfied with 1000 points? A bunch of clueless ones, hurry up and go scavenging.”

As soon as these words were spoken, Liu Fufeng turned to leave.

Sheng Qingyan’s lips curled wryly, ”Hey, where are you going? Where did this Iron Fool come from, actually going scavenging?”

Liu Fufeng turned back, ”I’m going to the restroom.”

Sheng Qingyan’s mouth twitched.

...

The sun was high.

The spaceship’s maintenance work was nearing completion; it was time for Ji You and Chu Jiaojiao and the other four to rest, while Yue Qiyuan, Yue Qiguang, Lou, Lance, and Yu Song were responsible for the spaceship and everyone’s safety.

Those black bears that suddenly emerged all died due to the black liquid.

Yue Qiyuan, accompanied by Lou and Yu Song, piloted the Mecha and circled the entire 381 garbage planet, finding no further trace of black bears.

They appeared suddenly and died suddenly, if not for A Ke, Liu Ming, and others having bad luck and arriving on this abandoned planet right at the time of the black bears’ outbreak, the events of the black bears’ outbreak and sudden death on 381 garbage planet might have gone completely unnoticed.

It might have happened quietly and ended quietly.

No one would know.

...

After the patrol ended, Yue Qiyuan, Lou, and Yu Song returned to the abandoned docking port, Ji You and Chu Jiaojiao and the others had just woken up from a nap, everyone walked off the spaceship, and Ji You saw a wisp of smoke rising from a vacant lot by the dock, which was a fire lit by A Ke and Granny Chen.

A Ke saw Ji You and cheerfully waved at her, ”Sister, come here.”

Ji You approached.

A Ke pointed at the big pot on the makeshift stove, eyes sparkling, ”Sister, Principal Hong gave me a few pounds of rice, it’s pure natural rice, and Granny and I made porridge, you, Sister Jiaojiao, Spicy Eye, Brother Changqing... can all have some later.”

Waking up to have porridge was fulfilling for Ji You, especially since the food came from Principal Hong’s hands, that was even more surprising.

Bear in mind, during this journey, all ten students had to bring their own food, even for a low-level nutrition solution, Principal Hong charged extra.

Hmph~

Who cares for his low-level nutrition, huh.

Ji You squatted down, adding a stick of firewood to the stove, smelling the fragrant porridge aroma, she smiled, ”Smells great.”

A Ke swallowed saliva and laughed, ”The taste must be good.” The best food he’d had was an oil pancake made with synthetic flour by Granny Chen, its aroma and crispness were unforgettable, but the scent of this porridge already made him hungry with anticipation.

Ji You and A Ke and Chu Jiaojiao and the others all gathered around the porridge pot, gazing eagerly.

Granny Chen stirred the porridge with a ladle, preventing it from sticking to the bottom, facing this group of kids who looked at her with longing eyes, she smiled, ”Wait a bit; it must be simmered till soft and just right to taste the best. It’s a pity there’s no green onion; a sprinkle of green onion and a drop of sesame oil would make it taste even better.”

Granny Chen spoke with a nostalgic look, ”In the past, my family used to run a small porridge shop, but as the environment worsened, raw materials couldn’t be bought, synthetic ingredients made poor-tasting porridge, and the business couldn’t continue. By my generation, I only learned a bit of the basics.”

”This is my second time making porridge from natural rice.” The first time was on the day her grandson was born, she had gritted her teeth and spent thousands of credit points to buy several pounds of natural rice, that porridge, to this day, remains a cherished memory for Granny Chen, reminiscing not just the taste but also the warmth and joy of family gathered together.

Now...

Things aren’t the same.

A Ke whispered, ”Granny, things will surely get better.”

Looking at the group of young, passionate teenagers beside A Ke, Granny Chen smiled and nodded gently, ”Mm.”

As the saying goes, surviving a great ordeal brings blessings. Her only wish is for A Ke and her two grandchildren to be safe and healthy.
