The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1470: Chapter 1470: Spicy Eye Outbreak

A black bear exploded.

Then, it was the second, third, fourth...

Ji You, Chu Jiaojiao, Shen Changqing... everyone watched helplessly as the black bears in front of them exploded, unable to do anything.

Yet, everyone’s mood remained relatively calm. Chu Jiaojiao clapped her hands and said, ”Case solved. We found the cause of these black bears’ deaths. The murderer is this black liquid.”

”So, what exactly is this stuff?” Ji You stroked her chin, just watching the black liquid disappear bit by bit made her feel a bit uneasy.

Only a few spots of black liquid remained, and in the distance, there seemed to be more black bears running towards them...

”Roar—”

”Roar—”

”Roar—”

Hearing the footsteps of the black bears getting closer, Ji You frowned and said, ”Jiaojiao, you and Shen Changqing should retreat for now.”

Although the gathering black bear group wasn’t very high level, getting entangled with them would be quite troublesome.

Moreover, having found the cause of the black bear group’s death, there was no need to stay here for now.

Chu Jiaojiao, Shen Changqing responded immediately, ”Okay.”

”We shall retreat at once.”

The two logged into their mechas, piloting them into the air. At that moment, the approaching black bears revealed themselves, they were three Level 1 black bears. By the time they arrived, the black liquid near the mine entrance had completely vanished, the three black bears stood near the entrance, looking bewildered.

They then circled a few times, still failing to find what they were looking for, but they refused to give up, continually loitering around the area...

Two of them jumped onto the pile of bear corpses, digging tirelessly, when suddenly, one bear stopped its movement. It found something, and in a swift motion grabbed a piece of rotten intestine and stuffed it into its mouth.

Ji You, Chu Jiaojiao, Shen Changqing, Liu Fufeng, Sheng Qingyan observed this scene clearly through the lenses of their detectors. Ji You, Chu Jiaojiao, Shen Changqing, Sheng Qingyan were expressionless, while Liu Fufeng seemed unable to bear it, suddenly covering his mouth to suppress the urge to vomit.

Ji You said, ”If you can’t take it, you can close your eyes, you don’t have to force yourself.”

Liu Fufeng’s complexion was pale, his body swaying, upon hearing, he suddenly released his hand from covering his mouth, straightening his back and staring at the screen without blinking.

Ji You: ”...”

Ji You murmured, ”Quite stubborn.”

Liu Fufeng heard Ji You’s muttering but didn’t respond, his face staying pale, stubbornly watching the black bear consume the bloody intestine completely clean, then its body started to collapse. The speed wasn’t as fast as directly licking the black liquid, but it was visibly collapsing bit by bit.

minute later.

Bang!

The bear’s body couldn’t hold, bursting apart.

The remaining two bears, however, seemed unaffected by the gruesome scene, continuing to dig through the corpse pile made of flesh and blood, trying to find something...

Ji You, Chu Jiaojiao, and others remained silent.

After a while.

Chu Jiaojiao frowned and said, ”What can be confirmed is, this substance has a fatal attraction to black bears, even making them lose their rationality.”

”Not even maybe,” Shen Changqing pointed out Chu Jiaojiao’s improper usage, saying, ”It’s certain this substance can make the black bear group completely lose rationality. The fear of death is an instinct for creatures, but the black bear group here has completely lost the instinct to fear death, despite witnessing their kind die, they ignore it and crazily compete for the black liquid. This is already enough to explain the problem.”

Chu Jiaojiao said, ”What on earth is this black liquid?”

Ji You frowned deeply, ”Now a different question runs through my mind, is this black liquid specific to the black bear group, or does it apply to all Star Beasts? Look here—”

She raised her hand to point to a hidden area on the screen, saying, ”Previously, we only focused on the black bear group and didn’t notice those tiny objects, here—there are several Carrion Rat corpses.”

The state of death was similar to the black bears, with bodies ruptured all over, only tails and fur remaining to reveal their original forms.

Shen Changqing, Chu Jiaojiao, and others were suddenly alert.

Chu Jiaojiao rubbed her eyes intensely, saying, ”I’m... feeling unwell now, do you think this stuff might also affect humans?”

With those words, Ji You and the others fell silent.

Then.

Chu Jiaojiao, Ji You, Liu Fufeng, Sheng Qingyan all anxiously watched Shen Changqing.

Shen Changqing held a bottle containing the black liquid.

Shen Changqing’s fingers tightened.

Sheng Qingyan immediately said, ”Throw it away!”

”Throw it away,” Sheng Qingyan repeated with a serious face.

Shen Changqing’s emotions were evidently stable, his voice still clear and clean, saying, ”It should be fine, if it were truly explosive, I would’ve felt it by now, but holding it now I feel nothing, and this substance, I think if we could research it, it might be very useful.”

Sheng Qingyan’s face darkened, staring stubbornly at Shen Changqing, eyes deep, ”Aqing, are you not listening to Brother anymore?”

Brother?

The amount of information was quite large, so, the obedient Xiaoqing has always called Brother La Yan? But Ji You didn’t have time for those thoughts, her voice dropped, ”Xiaoqing, let me think for 1 second before deciding.”

Throw?

Don’t throw?

Difficult to choose.

Shen Changqing felt a bit uncomfortable, turning his face away from Sheng Qingyan, but lifted his head to look at Ji You through the screen, remaining rational and calm, ”Ji You, this liquid gives me a strange feeling, there should be a remnant of a creature’s breath inside, but it’s very weak now. If I throw it away, it might instantly vanish. Moreover, the container for the liquid is of lab-grade material, effectively preventing human contact and infection. Haven’t you noticed? We watched the black liquid entirely just now but did not lose our rationality, but those black bears...”

”Look—” Shen Changqing raised his hand, pointing to the remaining two black bears circling around the entrance, explaining clearly, ”These two bears, without consuming or contacting the black liquid, had no issues at all.”

”This indicates, as long as we don’t whimsically consume it, or touch it, there should be no danger,” Shen Changqing said as he shifted his eyes from Ji You to the still very somber Sheng Qingyan, quietly reassuring, ”Ayan, don’t worry, I’ll be fine.”

If anything were truly wrong, he and Chu Jiaojiao would have encountered it when collecting the black liquid. Shen Changqing didn’t speak this sentence out loud.

Sheng Qingyan remained silent, his face somber.
