The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1479: Chapter 1479: Honey Trap

Yu Song has always been steady in his work. After accepting the task, he was the first to enter the spaceship cockpit. Although the spaceship had not officially taken off, the cockpit’s course had already been set, and autopilot would initiate in about 4 minutes and 50 seconds.

Yu Song looked over the course map and rechecked the set route. After confirming there were no issues, he shifted his focus to other matters.

Principal Hong had only given him three teammates, which meant that the work of navigation and defense would fall to him, Sheng Qingyan, Liu Fufeng, and Yue Qiguang.

When the team set off, Yue Qiguang was responsible for piloting the spaceship, of course, he only handled the front section. However, this was not a problem; it at least showed that Yue Qiguang was already experienced.

Hmm.

He could appoint Yue Qiguang as his co-pilot, so that in case of any emergencies, Yue Qiguang could assist with advice.

The spaceship pilot was settled, next was the defense issue.

Here, two people were needed.

One to scout the situation, another to attack.

Yu Song hardly knew anything about Liu Fufeng, just that Liu Fufeng had exceptionally good luck. Whether it was the internal school competition for selection or Lu Yu’s competition among a thousand schools, Liu Fufeng seemed to rely on top-notch luck to secure advancement.

Yu Song does not believe in luck; he thinks there is no such thing as luck in this world, only ability.

Is Liu Fufeng really lucky?

If you think so, you’re probably a fool. Yu Song does not consider himself a fool, so there is only one conclusion—Liu Fufeng is quite strong.

But!

What’s strong about him? In what areas?

Yu Song once privately thought about this and eventually concluded that Liu Fufeng must be a person with extraordinarily keen spiritual power. Only with such sensitivity could he get out of danger again and again.

Just right, the investigator position requires someone with great sensitivity, and the role could not be more suitable for Liu Fufeng.

That leaves the attack position.

Naturally, this job should be given to Sheng Qingyan.

No second-year student on Lanyue Star dares to claim they can surpass Sheng Qingyan in shooting skills.

Ji You can’t either.

Ji You and he are at most evenly matched, but if we consider only shooting skills without other factors, Sheng Qingyan’s shooting skills slightly surpass Ji You.

Thus, the sniper position is most fitting for Sheng Qingyan.

...

After weighing his options, Yu Song perked up and dialed Sheng Qingyan’s communication number.

”Bee~”

”Bee~”

”Bee~”

After three rings, the communication was finally connected.

”What’s up?” Sheng Qingyan’s voice sounded full of yawns, not happy at all.

”Here’s the situation.” Yu Song, with his excellent temperament, didn’t mind at all. He patiently explained the background to Sheng Qingyan.

Upon hearing this, Sheng Qingyan jumped up, ”What the hell! When did I agree to this? I don’t want to; is sleep not cozy enough? Is sleep not sweet enough? Why should I keep doing these thankless tasks?”

Yu Song was slightly helpless and whispered, ”It’s the principal’s directive.”

Sheng Qingyan exploded, ”I don’t care! Anyway, I’m not doing it. Otherwise, let him personally notify me.”

Afterward.

Sheng Qingyan directly hung up the call, buried his head, and fell into the quilt. Then, with a narrow squint, he glanced at a message from Principal Hong, roughly suggesting he could act up, make Yu Song’s job a bit more difficult.

Act up?

He’s the best at that.

He didn’t want to do this crappy task anyway; he really wanted to sleep. So, Sheng Qingyan confidently refused Yu Song.

...

Yu Song stared at the terminated communication in a bit of a daze.

Rejected.

Unexpected, yet reasonable.

Yu Song set his slight disappointment aside and proceeded to contact Yue Qiguang.

In Yu Song’s mind, Yue Qiguang is a very difficult person to deal with and very prone to exploding at the slightest dissatisfaction. When faced with such people, Yu Song had his methods: he kept a straight face, neither flattering nor pleasing, but instead explained clearly that it was Principal Hong’s arrangement.

Unexpectedly, Yue Qiguang agreed at once, ”Okay.”

Yu Song was stunned, ”Really?”

”Of course.” Yue Qiguang glanced sideways, ”How could Daddy not listen to Principal Hong’s orders?”

Yu Song felt relieved, smiled, ”That’s good.”

Yue Qiguang suddenly raised his voice, ”But, Daddy has no interest in being a subordinate to weaklings. If you can defeat Daddy, Daddy will head over immediately.”

Yu Song: ”...”

Currently, Yu Song indeed cannot beat Yue Qiguang, so—

He had to temporarily give up.

The call was disconnected, and in the next moment, before Yu Song could dial Liu Fufeng, he received a call from Liu Fufeng. Yu Song answered.

”Yu... Yu Song, I... I received the ar... arrangement, cough! cough cough... I... I’m very happy to join... you... you in fly... flying the spaceship, cough cough! cough! cough cough cough...” Liu Fufeng’s voice sounded particularly exhausted and weak, as if he was about to pass out. He sputtered sentence by sentence, and after a while, managed to say a complete sentence.

Yu Song listened and felt quite worn out as well.

The first two teammates were unwilling to cooperate, while this one was cooperative, but his Physical Strength was too poor and he couldn’t sustain his effort for long.

For a moment, Yu Song was at a loss.

Then.

Yu Song thought it over, suddenly remembering Ji You. Principal Hong only mentioned teammates numbered three, but didn’t say helpers can’t be found, did he?

Once thought, Yu Song made contact with Ji You privately, shared his troubles, and said: ”Ji You, given the current situation, what should I do?”

Yu Song was genuinely seeking advice.

Sheng Qingyan and Yue Qiguang are tricky; they don’t listen to good words, but when it comes to a strength contest, Yu Song can’t win over them.

It’s difficult.

Yu Song looked at Ji You with hope, ”Ji You, I genuinely can’t think of a good way for now, would you mind helping me come up with a solution that works?”

Ji You saw his expression and confirmed he was truly in a bind.

Thus, Ji You smiled faintly and said, ”What’s so difficult about it? To deal with them, use simple and direct methods: directly propose to Principal Hong that if they don’t cooperate or shirk their tasks, all their academic points, each person’s scholarships, and all the reward points for this time should be deducted.”

Yu Song: ”!!!”

Of course.

Why didn’t he think of that?

”Thank you. Thank you very much.” After thanking Ji You repeatedly, Yu Song went straight to request permission from Principal Hong.

Principal Hong, upon hearing this, immediately granted authorization.

Then—

When Sheng Qingyan, Yue Qiguang, and Liu Fufeng received notifications from Yu Song, they were all dumbfounded: ”Damn!”

”Got tricked?”

”Is this a scam?”

...

On the one side, they were told to act up and not agree, while on the other side deduct so many academic points, including points! Forcing them to go.

Infuriating!

What else is this but a scam?
