The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1344: Chapter 1344: Not Playing Along With Him

Captain Lou’s reaction was so intense that it stunned Wei Yun and the others. Wei Yun, with his mouth open, said, ”We need to prepare for battle now? But... why?”

Lou frowned deeply, feeling both angry and annoyed, somewhat frantically said, ”Charles wants to use me as a shield! Whose blade am I shielding from?”

Whose blade?

Wei Yun was startled. What blade could force Charles to mobilize his entire force?

Of course, it was the enemy camp.

The enemy camp’s forces were advancing!

Upon realizing this, Wei Yun felt extremely anxious. Their troops had just been given rations, and everyone was preparing to cook a hearty meal to replenish some physical strength...

This—

The pot hadn’t even heated up, and the enemy was already upon them.

The enemy was definitely prepared, dominating with a momentum that overshadowed their side. If the enemy appeared vigorous, our side would fall behind.

They came suddenly, and our side wasn’t fully prepared... falling even further behind...

...

The more Wei Yun thought about it, the more his scalp tingled.

Wei Yun was in a panic, running in circles. The others, upon hearing the news, also felt troubled. Seeing the team becoming unstable, Lou had already come to his senses, calming his mind. Looking at Wei Yun and others, Lou, with a stern expression but a relatively calm tone, said, ”Everyone, do not panic! The defense lines we set up before can be activated immediately. This is our home ground; they are at a natural disadvantage crossing into our territory. As long as we adjust quickly, repelling them will not be difficult.”

On hearing this, everyone’s heart eased a little.

That’s right.

Everyone had been setting up here for such a long time, from daylight into a 24-hour night, all taut with tension, not daring to slack for even a second, just waiting for the enemy to arrive.

Now that the enemy came—

Came to meet their doom.

What is there to panic about?

Looking at his gradually calming subordinates, Lou said, ”Relay my orders without delay! Quickly!”

”Yes.”

Wei Yun and others quickly arranged the orders to be sent.

After a moment of chaos, the entire team began developing a sense of order. Lou, holding his weapon, stood on the city tower, gazing into the distance—

He had a feeling that the one coming was Ji You.

This kind of situation would definitely have Ji You leading the charge.

It must be said that Lou had accurate predictions; earlier, he refused to rest and dared not let his subordinates rest, just sensing that Ji You would surely come, no matter how late, she would arrive before dark.

”Use the 5,000-meter earthen wall as the boundary. Everyone enter within the wall, complete the migration within 3 minutes. Anyone who fails to move by then will be deemed to have voluntarily abandoned rejoining the team, and there will be no aid if this occurs.” Lou commanded while looking at the silent, motionless darkness outside the city wall.

Wei Yun, puzzled, asked, ”Squad Leader, this means our forces will be confined within a 5,000-meter radius centered on the military base. Isn’t that too narrow and restricting?”

”Against Ji You and her forces—” Lou shook his head, saying, ”In terms of maneuverability, we definitely can’t match them, so we cannot disperse our forces; we must concentrate them to face outward.”

Due to outdated communication methods, where shouting was the only way to issue military orders, dispersing forces too widely would make delivering orders difficult, leading to a gradual internal collapse. Aware of the dismal situation, Lou had planned from the beginning to concentrate his troops to effectively issue commands.

Soon after Lou issued the order, his scattered forces swiftly withdrew inside the city wall.

...

Time was calculated in milliseconds, with everyone at Regiment 5’s garrison racing against the clock, fearful of falling behind by even a step. As the last small group entered inside the wall, Lou heard the report and sighed in relief.

Then—

Lou ordered everyone to be on high alert.

Wei Yun stood until feeling numb, she raised her head and looked around but still didn’t see the shadow of the enemy. She had the urge to ask Lou if he was mistaken.

Lou’s face was slightly dark.

Inopportunely, someone asked, ”Squad Leader, could the enemy not be coming?”

With a calm face, Lou replied, ”Impossible, she has definitely come.”

Not only came, but she must be hiding in the dark, waiting to strike at the moment of our relaxation.

Meanwhile—

Ji You, upon receiving reports from her troops near the enemy camp’s Regiment 5 location, couldn’t help but smile, ”Lou indeed pulled everyone back inside the wall?”

”Yes,” the returning male reported, ”Commander, the enemies are likely trying to concentrate forces to deal with us. Should we pick a place to break through?”

Ji You, leading her army on a long march, initially set a stance to encircle Lou and his warriors, forcing Lou to condense his battle lines.

”Break through?” Ji You raised a brow and smiled meaningfully, ”He’s curled up into a ball, hiding in his turtle shell. Why should we play his game?”

”Let’s go!”

With a commanding wave of her hand, Ji You decreed, ”Everyone, follow my order, head towards the enemy Commander’s base!”

The crowd: ”!!!”

Everyone was shocked!

Wait!

Weren’t we here to attack Lou and his forces?

The army was instantly in turmoil, but due to Ji You’s growing authority, her single word prompted everyone to follow her lead without question.

Thus, before the army even reached Lou’s base, it turned direction. During this time, since Lou had already withdrawn all his forces, it was as if the center gate was wide open, allowing Ji You’s army to march through like a walk in their own backyard, without any resistance.

The army approached quickly and retreated just as fast. In no time, they were far away from Lou’s territory.

Following Ji You, Liu Jia couldn’t hold back and asked, ”Commander, aren’t we going to eliminate Lou before leaving?”

Ji You waved her hand, stating, ”Why kill him? He’s holed up in his sturdy turtle shell; killing him would be tedious, time-consuming, and not fun. We don’t kill; we wait for him to come out of his shell, then it won’t be too late to finish him.”

”... You’re speaking as if he’d actually come out,” Liu Jia was a bit incredulous. If he were Louise Carter, facing someone like Ji You who didn’t follow convention, he too would pick a stronghold and hold fast, waiting for the enemy to attempt breaking his defense before considering venturing out for a battle.

Walking steadily and silently behind Ji You, Wang Xin couldn’t help but respond to Liu Jia’s words: ”Why wouldn’t he come out? He’ll definitely come out on his own; think about where we’re heading now.”

Liu Jia tilted his head, ”Charles’ camp?”

Seeing Liu Jia still in the clouds, Wang Xin shook his head, not saying any more. Next to him, He Yu couldn’t resist reminding him, ”What is there? Think carefully.”

Liu Jia tilted his head, ”???”
