The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1303: Chapter 1303: Mountain Peak

Ji You’s words had just fallen when Cheng Haoyue instantly shivered, thinking it’s finally here!

What was bound to come, indeed has come.

He felt it couldn’t be that simple; indeed, in the end, doing something in the enemy camp is Ji You’s style.

Although Cheng Haoyue didn’t know Ji You well and wasn’t sure what words to use to sum up her style, in short, he felt Ji You, from head to toe, down to her dandruff, was someone who wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to act in the enemy camp just for sightseeing.

Thinking so, Cheng Haoyue’s heart had a moment of excitement. He looked toward Ji You’s direction. In the pitch-black night, two dark eyes glinted: ”Squad leader, are we going to act now?”

His tone was full of unabashed excitement.

Ji You glanced at him, and continued to communicate using the Spiritual Silk Net: ”Don’t speak unless I notify you.”

Cheng Haoyue’s face tightened, nodding solemnly.

Ji You turned to He Nu and said, ”Later, you and Cheng Haoyue follow me and act accordingly.”

Cheng Haoyue: ”???”

He Nu nodded emphatically: ”Mm.”

Hey!

Aren’t you!

How come... you understood? Am I the only one who didn’t get it?

Cheng Haoyue stared blankly at Ji You and then at He Nu, who seemed to fully understand, and felt his head grow a size bigger.

He Nu noticed Cheng Haoyue’s spiritual fluctuations and sensed a hint of confusion, so he suddenly raised his hand, pulling Ji You at the front. Ji You didn’t look back and said, ”Goo—”

[Cheng Haoyue!]

Cheng Haoyue shivered all over, blinking hard, wanting to express his thoughts: [Here! Squad leader, are you planning to assign me a big mission? Don’t worry, I’ll definitely do my best!]

Be it killing one enemy, two enemies, or a group, he’d do it without hesitation.

The next second.

Cheng Haoyue heard Ji You’s bird-like voice coming over: ”No need, you don’t have to do anything; you’re just here to make up the numbers.”

Cheng Haoyue: ”...”

Cheng Haoyue’s face blackened instantly.

Ji You didn’t mean to comfort him, and said to He Nu: ”Speed up—”

With that.

Ji You took a step, pushing speed to the limit.

Whoosh—

Like a gust of wind, flashed by, disappeared instantly.

He Nu followed.

Although Cheng Haoyue was a beat slower, he wasn’t weak and quickly caught up.

Ji You’s target was clear, moving swiftly through the moist and uneven mountains, with He Nu and Cheng Haoyue following, without stepping into even one pit. Suddenly, the person in front, Ji You, stopped.

He Nu quickly halted.

Cheng Haoyue stopped hastily.

In the distance were several rolling mountains, a heavy shadow falling into the eyes, just a blur of black, masking the specific landscape... Cheng Haoyue focused, discovering the light clucking sounds that came from Ji You.

In the dark mountains, something moved.

Soon, Ji You decisively pulled the crossbow arrows from her back.

Huh?

Cheng Haoyue’s heart tightened as Ji You pressed the trigger on a nearby mountain.

One arrow.

Two arrows.

Three arrows.

In an instant, the arrow box was empty; then, there was a slight clicking sound as the box reloaded, and Ji You switched direction for the next shot.

Beside her, He Nu had also drawn his weapon.

Ji You suddenly said, ”One person coming from the upper-left front.”

He Nu drew his blade and moved forward.

Ji You spoke very low: ”Cheng Haoyue, 50 meters to the upper-left!”

Even if Cheng Haoyue were dimwitted, he knew what to do; he pulled the bow!

Whoosh—

Crack!

The arrow struck a stone, darn, it missed!

Cheng Haoyue’s heart tightened as panic arose, then he saw an arrow fly past!

Whoosh!

Hit right on the forehead!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

...

When no sound was left, Cheng Haoyue didn’t dare relax, hearing Ji You say beside him: ”Seven corpses, He Nu got 2, I got 5, Cheng Haoyue 0.”

Cheng Haoyue: ”...”

Embarrassment flooded Cheng Haoyue’s face.

Ji You said, ”Don’t just stand there, Cheng Haoyue, go grab the enemy’s weapons and equipment, hurry up.”

Cheng Haoyue dared not delay and quickly moved.

Very soon.

Following Ji You’s cue, he quickly found all the weapons and gear. After Ji You’s prompt, he luckily found a cookie the size of a fist, making Cheng Haoyue very pleased.

Though his stomach was growling, Cheng Haoyue didn’t eat it in one bite, but handed it to Ji You: ”Here.”

Ji You glanced at him, didn’t refuse, and put the cookie away.

Then.

Ji You said, ”Return.”

Once spoken, she left no time for them to hesitate, turned, and ran. In an instant, she was out of sight.

Cheng Haoyue took a deep breath. Sometimes, he even wondered how Ji You’s short legs managed to run faster than him? She seemed so weak, yet had expended a considerable amount of spiritual power and physical strength during the battle, as Cheng Haoyue felt Ji You’s figure slightly swaying, nearly falling at one point; yet she acted unaffected, still able to run that fast.

Even though He Nu only cut down 2 enemies, his energy was significantly drained too, he exhaled and started running.

Cheng Haoyue: ”...”

Cheng Haoyue chased after them.

But—

He gave it his all and couldn’t catch up, He Nu was okay, still within his sensory range, but Ji You had completely vanished, not a trace left.

He pursued.

Failed to catch up.

Cheng Haoyue: ”...”

These two, looking ready to drop dead any moment, yet remained uncatchable?

Cheng Haoyue gritted his teeth, running with all his might. Finally, within Ji You’s set time of 5 minutes, he returned to the center of the main legion, almost on the verge of tears on sighting He Nu and Ji You.

Finally caught up.

After Ji You and He Nu returned to the squad, they didn’t disturb the rapidly marching troops. Cheng Haoyue arrived, gasping heavily, attracting the curious glances of a few students nearby; Cheng Haoyue tried his best to act like nothing happened.

As the squad advanced, under Ji You’s prompt and orders, they erased all traces as much as possible. When approximately 1000 meters from the border river, Ji You suddenly called a halt.

The squad immediately stopped.

Ji You pointed towards the steep mountain across the river: ”Cross the border river from the direction of that mountain.”

With that said, Ji You took the lead towards the steep peak.

Though somewhat perplexed, the others followed suit.
