Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 485: Chapter 294: Lin Chu’s Flamboyance and Antics, Buying Out the Auction

Evening is when life in Dubai truly begins.

After all, with daytime temperatures that easily exceeded forty degrees, only the beasts of burden and low-level laborers from other countries were out and about. Locals and most tourists certainly couldn’t stand it and would never subject themselves to such suffering.

It was much more comfortable now.

A cool breeze was blowing.

The tide ebbed and flowed.

At the Marina, two luxury yachts were already waiting in the twilight. Not far off stood the city’s most famous landmark, the Burj Al Arab Hotel.

Looking out at this stretch of sea in the middle of the desert, Lin Chu once again felt the immense power of money.

Even for someone like him, who had seen and experienced his fair share, it was still a powerful, shocking sight.

The azure sea stretched to the horizon, dotted with the world-renowned ”World Island”—three hundred artificial islands shaped to mimic the continents, collectively forming a miniature Earth. A true man-made marvel.

’The things rich people do!’

Lin Chu even felt that he had been too conservative.

’Far too conservative!’

Living in his home country for so long had skewed his perception of what money could do. There was a fundamental difference in mindset.

It was like the Filipino maids who knelt to change your shoes for you at the door. Back home, no amount of money could buy that kind of service.

But here, money wrote all the rules.

You didn’t have to consider anything else.

Those who came before had already laid all the groundwork for you.

A parade of gorgeous, long-legged women from all over the world boarded the yacht, their laughter and graceful figures making it seem like a grand fashion show.

Rashid slung an arm around Lin Chu’s shoulder, squinting like a provincial nouveau riche. ”Chu, welcome to Dubai!”

Lin Chu clapped him on the shoulder, his own mood somewhat infected by the atmosphere, and let out a whoop.

’The party’s starting!’

He really couldn’t handle this kind of sugar-coated cannonball. It was just too damn unrestrained.

In comparison...

...the time he went out on the water at Dapeng Bay with Liu Junfeng and the others felt like kids playing house.

Tsk.

’There goes my composure.’

Lying on the yacht’s deck, feeling the wind, was Lin Chu’s last rational thought.

But he had completely stopped overthinking it.

’Time to get wild!’

「...」

The presidential suite of the Burj Al Arab Hotel.

Yang Huixian was alone in her room. After a shower, she sat by the window, gazing at the night view.

She, of course, had no interest in the men’s debauchery and had chosen to leave early.

The security company’s base was empty, so it wasn’t suitable for her to stay there. A hotel was the natural choice.

A thought crossed her mind... ’What is Lin Chu doing right now?’

But she just shook her head with a smile and quickly cast the thought aside.

POP!

She quietly opened a bottle of red wine and poured a glass. The crimson liquid swirled in the goblet as she took a small sip, then lounged lazily on the sofa.

Dubai was a great city. Its consumer spending power was astonishing, and it was highly modernized.

A few days ago, during a meeting with retail executives, Lin Chu had mentioned expanding their chain of stores, and that this place could be one of the potential locations.

While shopping during the day, she had been paying close attention to the foot traffic and spending power.

’There’s no problem at all!’

’Let’s open one here!’

The loneliness of an empty room was best dispelled by ambitious professional aspirations.

Yang Huixian was also very interested in Lin Chu’s idea of acquiring the LV Group.

At first, she thought it was a pipe dream, something out of a fantasy.

But once she realized how determined Lin Chu was, she began to seriously consider its feasibility.

’Where there’s a will, there’s a way.’

’It’s worth thinking about, at least.’

For the past two days, she had been researching all sorts of information on the LV Group.

In fact, the LV Group wasn’t founded by its current owner, Arnault. Rather, it had gone through a series of extremely complex mergers and acquisitions before he ultimately brought it under his control and developed it to its current scale.

Arnault’s slick maneuvers to acquire Louis Vuitton were once called the greatest business battle in Europe.

He was once just a minor second-generation heir from the construction industry.

When the Dior Group was facing bankruptcy, he used his lobbying skills to secure a two-billion loan from the French Government to buy the Dior brand, which was his first step into the luxury industry.

The second step...

...was when the LV Group’s stock price was low and it was plagued by internal strife. He seized the opportunity to make a strategic investment, acquiring 13.5% of the shares.

At the same time, the old fox played his hand. Playing dumb to get the upper hand, he secretly established an investment bank and used various means to buy up 24% of the shares, ultimately pulling off a grand deception to become the largest shareholder.

And so it remains to this day.

Of course, Arnault’s business acumen could also be described as truly exceptional.

Afterwards, he began a massive acquisition spree. Using Dior and Louis Vuitton as his twin pillars, he gradually acquired other luxury brands until he had formed the behemoth that exists today.

Theoretically, now wasn’t a good opportunity. The capital costs would be extremely high.

After all, circumstances make the hero.

Many opportunities, once missed, are gone forever.

But thinking of Lin Chu’s determination, she knew that since he had decided to do it, she had to seriously figure out a way.

Opening her laptop, Yang Huixian continued to look up various materials.

Currently, the LV Group had many well-known subsidiary brands.

Louis Vuitton, Dior, Bulgari, Fendi, Guerlain, TAG Heuer Watch, Hennessy Cognac... and so on. They covered almost every aspect of the consumer lifestyle goods sector.

It wasn’t just about selling a specific product, but rather selling a way of life.

Such a rich product line was certainly worth studying.

Even if there were obscure sub-brands, some even operating at a loss, this near-complete product range was its deepest moat.

Now, if Lin Chu wanted to make a move on the world’s number one luxury goods group, there were two paths he could take.
