Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 463: Chapter 284: The Flower on the High Peak and the 3 Bastards

Whether it was the golf club, the security company, the media firm, or the retail business, they were all still a long way from going public.

The requirements for years of operation and stable profitability were natural roadblocks.

A hard requirement for going public was to have been in operation for over three years. Stable profitability, on the other hand, wasn’t much of a challenge; with enough investment, that could always be arranged.

In truth, time was his greatest advantage, but also his greatest disadvantage when it came to building a legacy.

His advantage was his youth.

His disadvantage, naturally, was also his youth.

Lin Chu had no particular obsession with taking a company public. After all, the main purpose of an IPO was to raise funds—or, more cynically, to rake in cash.

And he was long past the point of needing to resort to such methods.

Still, the act of going public itself seemed fun to Lin Chu. It was like a new toy—unplayed with, and therefore novel.

And it was prestigious.

For most companies and their owners, going public was the ultimate milestone that set them apart.

Of course, some companies were so successful they didn’t need an IPO to prove their worth. But companies like that—Huawei, for instance—were as rare as a unicorn’s horn, which was precisely why they were so widely lauded.

By society’s prevailing standards, being a publicly listed company was still pretty damn impressive.

”I’m interested. Tell me more.”

Lin Chu replied with a smile.

Just then, Lin Chu noticed Dongnya was acting like a playful kitten. She started by lightly scratching his chest, then grew bolder. She lifted his pajama top, kneaded his abs, and then tugged the elastic waistband of his shorts down an inch.

All of this, of course, was happening in the blind spot of the video call.

Licking his lips nonchalantly, Lin Chu focused his attention on You Shaoqiang’s reply.

You Shaoqiang, for his part, explained things at a measured pace.

The story wasn’t complicated. It was simply about a scion of a wealthy family wanting to prove to his old man that he had the power and skill to make waves in the capital markets.

It could be seen as the final test before he officially took the reins of the You Family empire.

His family had already provided him with some ”bullets,” and he had raised more from his circle of friends, but he still needed more firepower.

He was refreshingly candid, at least.

He was trying to be tactful about it, to maintain a sense of decorum, but he laid his thoughts bare without hiding anything.

That was the core of his request.

’It’s not so different from what I want, actually.’

Lin Chu listened with a faint smile, his focus unwavering. He merely felt a strange, thrilling sensation stir within him.

On one hand, he was directing the course of empires.

On the other, he was being gently caressed.

’This is the pinnacle of enjoyment,’ he thought.

”Sure, no problem. If you need money, just ask. How much?”

Lin Chu said, his tone utterly nonchalant.

There was so much money sitting in his accounts that Lin Chu genuinely didn’t know what to do with it all.

What You Shaoqiang was doing wasn’t exactly asking for a loan, nor was it a typical investment. It was more like a partnership, with him as the lead and Lin Chu just providing some backing.

Lin Chu didn’t think it was a big deal, though.

It was best not to put all one’s eggs in a single basket. Diversifying was key.

And given the You Family’s reputation, as well as his current impression of You Shaoqiang, he knew that while the venture could objectively fail, he wouldn’t be deliberately screwed over.

”Hahaha, you’re so direct... All right, I won’t beat around the bush then. The shortfall is about a billion. I’ll send you the project proposal in a bit. If you’re interested and have the spare cash, we can discuss the details.”

Even now, he hadn’t mentioned the specific investment target. He wanted to confirm Lin Chu’s interest first before diving into the particulars.

”Okay, sounds good. Send it over and I’ll take a look.”

Lin Chu said with a smile before hanging up.

At that moment, Dongnya opportunely ceased her ministrations. She looked up, her eyes sparkling and her lips glistening, a picture of captivating charm.

Tsk.

”Don’t stop now. Keep going,”

Lin Chu said with a grin.

Her long eyelashes fluttered twice before she lowered her head once more.

...

「One day later.」

In a world of ice and snow, a figure in camouflage fatigues, shouldering a rifle and a thirty-kilogram tactical pack, strode purposefully through an obstacle-laden snowfield.

It was Lin Chu.

This was his self-arranged ”discharge assessment.”

It was about time to leave.

He was tired of playing.

Truly exhausted.

He had been at this paramilitary training for twenty-three days now. He’d benefited greatly and learned everything he could. The rest was just a matter of practice makes perfect.

At the same time, his willpower and physical stamina had reached their limits.

Besides, it wasn’t as if he had to reach a specific goal or level of proficiency. And since something new had come up in the real world, Lin Chu decided to wrap up his training.

In the future, if he ever got tired of the debauchery of city life, he could always come back here for a dose of austere, arduous training. It would be a good way to balance things out.

Before leaving this military camp experience behind, Lin Chu wanted to go out with a bang. It would serve as both a final test and a memento.

And so, today’s ”mission” was born.

He’d merely floated the idea, and the experienced veterans at the base had turned it into a reality, even writing a script for it.

The script was as follows:

Three bandits have broken into your home without your knowledge and kidnapped your wife. They have fled into the icy, uninhabited wilderness. Your mission is to track them down and rescue the ”hostage.”
