Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 481: Chapter 291: Left Foot on Right Foot, to the Sky

Still, the money he’d earned from his spending was very real.

After buying the full set of gear, his initial one million euros had more than doubled. His balance was now 2.32 million euros.

It was a real-life infinite money glitch, a classic case of pulling himself up by his bootstraps and soaring to the heavens.

Lu Ming’s arms were laden with shopping bags, big and small, and the two bodyguards behind him were nearly at their limit as well. When he heard Yang Huixian’s teasing remark, he felt a pang of guilt.

At the same time, he couldn’t help but want to laugh.

’Shit!’

’Brother Chu’s mind truly isn’t something an ordinary person can figure out.’

’Who the hell knows what he’s thinking?’

’I don’t even know myself.’

’But we’ve been put on the spot. He already bought them, so we can’t just refuse, can we?’

Looking as if he’d just gotten away with a heist, Lu Ming took a deep breath and then let out a long sigh.

”I swear, there’s absolutely nothing going on between Brother Chu and me!”

”Maybe this is just your guys’ little kink!”

”What do you take me for?!”

Lu Ming retorted with an exaggerated expression and tone. It was all he could do—use humor to defuse the awkwardness.

Lin Chu shot them both a look, then waved his hand dismissively, not bothering to explain a thing.

’Do I fucking need to explain myself?’

’Let’s go!’

’Onward!’

’Next stop!’

Time to start the shopping spree.

’Still, just buying stuff at these places... the average sale price is too low. Compared to my goal, it’s just too inefficient. I need to find a way to buy some big-ticket items.’

”Has the local team from the security company’s Dubai branch arrived?”

Lin Chu turned to a bodyguard and asked with a smile.

He’d already informed Gao Haitao of his travel plans, so a local team should have been arranged.

When you’re traveling, it’s always better to have a local expert showing you around.

”President Lin, they’re already here. They arrived right after the plane landed. The car is ready and waiting in the underground garage. I saw you were shopping, so I told them to wait.”

the bodyguard replied courteously.

”Hey, why didn’t you say so sooner?”

”Let’s go. Head to the garage. Time to inspect our Dubai branch.”

”Go!”

Lin Chu gave a jaunty wave and strutted toward the underground garage.

On the way, they passed a Patek Philippe store.

”How many of them are here?” Lin Chu asked again.

The bodyguard replied, ”Four of them are here right now.”

Nodding, Lin Chu ducked into the store, picked out seven more watches, had them boxed up, and left with the whole lot, continuing toward the garage.

’There’s one good thing about the luxury shops here,’ Lin Chu thought.

’They don’t have purchase limits.’

’And you don’t need to build a purchase history or anything.’

Lin Chu figured they’d probably been trained by the whales. After all, the way those big-time spenders shopped was likely pretty similar to how he was shopping now.

’Unlike back in China.’

’They’ve been spoiled rotten over there!’

”You two pick one for yourselves. Whichever you like.”

As he walked out, Lin Chu casually handed the shopping bag to the two bodyguards behind him and said with a smile.

’I may not have the headdress, but I’m still loaded!’

’Share the wealth. Everyone gets a piece!’

The two men: ...

They had never witnessed such extravagance. A single one of these watches, given away so casually, was worth hundreds of thousands.

They recalled what President Gao had told them before the trip: ”Brother Chu... well, he likes to spend money, and he especially likes spending it on his people. If he buys you any little gifts, just take them. Don’t be a buzzkill. Your job is to serve the boss well, so just count your lucky stars.”

At the time, they hadn’t thought much of it.

But now, they could only think, ’President Gao, you were being conservative.’

’Is this a fucking ”little gift”?!’

...

Back when he was negotiating the acquisition of Shield Guardian with Yuan Fang, Lin Chu had made a decision. The domestic branches were a tangled mess of interpersonal relationships and bloated with all sorts of hangers-on. Therefore, he adopted a strategy of purchasing their shares in batches, a gradual takeover that would play out over time.

The overseas branches, on the other hand, he had acquired all at once. They were now all subsidiaries of LC Security.

Due to the nature of their work, the guys at these overseas companies were all solid, hardworking professionals with top-notch skills.

Compared to its competitors, the company wasn’t very large; for now, it could only be considered a small-scale operation.

After all, security companies are highly dependent on high-level connections and resources. The previous leadership lacked those, so the business never really took off.

But for his current needs, it was more than enough.

「The underground garage of Dubai International Airport.」

Inside a spotlessly clean Toyota Land Cruiser, Ma Teng was leaning against the door, leisurely smoking a cigarette.

He stood nearly six-foot-three, with a muscular build and a massive tattoo on his arm. He wore a pair of sunglasses, a roguishly handsome smirk playing on his lips.

Ma Teng was the head of the local branch.

He used to be in South Africa.

After President Gao took over, he visited the local branch on an inspection tour, took an immediate liking to Ma Teng, and transferred him to Dubai to run this branch.

That had only been a few months ago.

He had heard a thing or two about the big boss of the parent company, Lin Chu, who was about to arrive. He’d even watched some of Lin Chu’s live streams.

Only one word could describe him: Badass.

No question about it.

’From the streams, he seemed like a pretty good-tempered guy, not too hard to please. I just hope he’s the same in person. As long as he doesn’t run us ragged, we’ll be fine.’

Although, from the looks of it right now, he was certainly putting on airs.

The guys upstairs had just reported that President Lin was shopping.

’So we just have to fucking wait.’

’What else can we do?’

It had been almost an hour.

”Ma Teng, we’re downstairs and heading to the underground garage. ETA five minutes. Over.”

His phone chimed.

Ma Teng glanced at the message, quickly stubbed out his cigarette, popped a piece of gum in his mouth, and strode toward the elevator bank.

”Let’s go, boys!”

”The boss is here!”

The three men behind him instantly snapped to attention and followed him, quick-marching toward the elevators.

As Lin Chu stepped out of the elevator,

he saw four men in black suits lined up in two rows, waiting for him.

There were other tourists in the elevator with them. Seeing the scene, one woman let out a terrified shriek, as if it triggered some kind of PTSD.

Lin Chu: ...

He glanced at her but said nothing, simply taking Yang Huixian’s arm and striding briskly out of the elevator.

”What’s with the big production?”

”You’re scaring people.”

”Let’s go, let’s go.”

Lin Chu said nonchalantly as their group swept past.

The woman in the elevator watched them go, covering her face, her heart still pounding with fear.

’What kind of people *are* they?!’

’So much pomp and circumstance!’

”You’re Ma Teng, right?”

”I just bought a few watches upstairs. Hand these out to the guys.”

Lin Chu clapped him on the shoulder, grinning. ’This guy is really tall,’ he thought, ’a good half-head taller than me. He gives off a real sense of security.’

”Huh?”

”Th-Thank you, President Lin.”

When he saw the Patek Philippe logo on the shopping bags, Ma Teng’s surprise turned into delight, and a brilliant smile spread across his face.

”Don’t mention it. Get in my car in a bit. I have a few things to ask you.”

Lin Chu said nonchalantly.

’My ”act” has become completely natural now,’ Lin Chu mused. ’It’s not even an act anymore. It’s just... me. It’s like it’s been integrated into my very bones—the aura of a multi-billionaire.’

The two vehicles slowly pulled away.

Ma Teng drove, with Lu Ming in the passenger seat. Lin Chu and Yang Huixian sat in the back.

The car was a few years old, but the interior had the faint, pleasant scent of air freshener, a clear sign of their meticulous preparation.

Lin Chu didn’t bother with small talk and got straight to the point.

”Check for me, are there any auctions in Dubai in the next three days? I want to go take a look.”

’The best way to burn through money is, of course, an auction.’

’The prices per item are high enough.’

’Which means the rebates will be huge.’

Although Lin Chu wasn’t a fan of auctions—he found them rather moronic, often just elaborate scams set up to fleece the ”fat sheep” who wandered in, with all sorts of shady backroom deals—right now... it was a means to an end.

It was the most convenient and fastest method available.

After all, he still had to spend a ton of money on his upcoming trip to France.

”Okay, President Lin. I’ll ask around right now. There should be something. There are a lot of auctions around here.”

”I should be able to get invitations, but some might require proof of funds.”

”Let me ask around first.”

Ma Teng said with a smile.

”Ask now. We’re on a tight schedule. I’m not here for long,” Lin Chu urged.

Ma Teng smiled again, then dialed a contact and quickly began making inquiries.

’This new boss really is... extravagant.’

’He’s even in a hurry to spend money.’
