Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 289: Chapter 216: Go for It, Lin Yingxiong

”Do all girls really like scumbags?”

She didn’t even close her door, so of course Lin Chu wasn’t going to have another crisis of conscience.

’One bout of conscience was enough. I gave her a chance, but she didn’t take it, choosing instead to follow her own heart and desires.’

And so, a little after three in the morning, their physical communion came to an end. Because the sheets were soiled, they moved to the bed in Lin Chu’s room to begin their spiritual one.

Gu Jiayan’s brow was furrowed, and tear stains still marked the corners of her eyes. When she heard Lin Chu’s question, she looked at him with a heart-wrenching vulnerability, though the blissful afterglow in her expression hadn’t yet completely faded.

Talking about this now was a bit of a mood killer.

But she didn’t seem to mind, replying with her head still in a bit of a fog, ”No. Don’t talk about yourself like that. That word has nothing to do with you.”

Huh?

Lin Chu was baffled.

’Seriously? Where’s your moral compass?’

’How the hell am I not one?’

”What I see is an ambitious, enterprising, brilliant, and caring man.”

Gu Jiayan gently caressed Lin Chu’s face as she spoke.

Lin Chu: ?

’The hell you did!’

”A bunch of adjectives, and not a single one I wanted to hear. Like ’devastatingly handsome’ or ’rich and well-endowed’... Tsk, you still don’t get me.”

Lin Chu said with a grin.

Gu Jiayan: ...

’He was impossible.’

She couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh.

”Handsome, handsome, handsome. You’re so handsome. The most handsome man in the world.”

She even said it with a doting tone.

Lin Chu: ...

’Is she feeling motherly now? What the hell is this?’

’This is a new one for me.’

’But after being with so many women, I can spot it and identify it clearly.’

’This ”maternal instinct” thing... it’s when a girlfriend starts treating you like her son. It means she’s given you her absolute, unconditional approval.’

’The most typical sign is that she starts to feel for you, her heart aching on your behalf.’

’Then again, it makes sense. She has a heart of gold, after all. She’s so loving toward those kids at the orphanage.’

”Then can you call me mommy?”

Not knowing how to respond, Gu Jiayan decided to just get playful.

Lin Chu: ...

”You’re getting kinky. Quick, tell me who you are! What seductive vixen possessed you? Give me back my secretary.”

Gu Jiayan burst out laughing again, playfully pounding on Lin Chu’s chest.

She threw a couple of mock punches before stopping. Then she rolled over to face him, her gaze calm and serious as she stared into his eyes.

”I don’t regret it. I don’t regret it at all.”

”I don’t care about the past. As for the future... I just hope you’ll be straight with me, Mr. Lin. Even if... there’s really someone better than me, at least let me know why I wasn’t enough.”

She wasn’t stupid at all.

In fact, she had a pretty good idea of what the future held.

But this was her choice, and she didn’t regret it.

Lin Chu was genuinely moved when he heard that.

’Holy shit?’

’Is she really that enlightened?’

”Why would you think that way?”

Lin Chu couldn’t resist lighting a cigarette, his interest piqued as he asked.

”One’s mind should arise without abiding in anything.”

”All desires are attachments, and all attachments are delusion.”

Gu Jiayan said casually.

Lin Chu: ...

’A Female Bodhisattva!’

’She’s here to save me!’

’Saving me by riding her lotus throne!’

The thought was too blasphemous—not toward her, but toward the divine. It flashed through Lin Chu’s mind, but he didn’t dare say it aloud.

’Lin Chu didn’t fully understand those two lines, but he got the gist of the literal meaning. They were probably about letting go of attachments, as well as greed, anger, and delusion.’

’Of course, that’s just the advice.’

’Anyone who could actually do it would be a Buddha.’

”Alright, alright, you’re on a higher plane. You’re the Female Bodhisattva. Not me. I still have to toil in the mortal realm with my flesh and blood, earn some hard-earned cash so you can go help those poor kids.”

Lin Chu said nonchalantly.

Gu Jiayan flashed a radiant smile and couldn’t resist pinching Lin Chu’s nose. ”I knew it. You’re the one on a higher plane! As Romain Rolland said, ’There is only one true heroism in the world: to see the world as it is and to love it.’”

”Keep it up, Lin Yingxiong!”

’Women... they’re really something else.’

’Some hurt you, some arouse your desire, some inspire you, and some heal a part of your wounds.’

’Of course, it’s never all the same person.’

’Only with a large enough sample size can you experience all the different varieties.’

’But seriously, you can’t paint them all with the same brush.’

’Don’t miss out on the good girls, and don’t let the bad ones go to waste. Is that it?’

’Lin Yingxiong?’

’That’s a pretty good nickname.’

Lin Chu liked it a lot. He pulled her close and drifted into a deep sleep.

...

”Brother Chu, the headcount is in. We have class this afternoon, so let’s go register the company this morning. A total of 41 people have joined, and all the money has been transferred. That should be everyone. We’ve even thought of a name: Alibaba and the Forty Thieves. The next Alibaba is about to be born!”

「The next morning.」

Reading Lu Ming’s message, Lin Chu was both speechless and amused.

’This guy would brag about anything.’

”There’s no way that name will get approved for registration.”

Lin Chu typed back a quick reply.

After all, the original is a massive corporation. They’ve long since defensively registered anything and everything related to the name.

Lu Ming quickly replied: ”That name was a joke. You got any ideas?”

Lin Chu thought for a moment before typing back, ”How about Bandit Think Tank?”

It carried on Lu Ming’s idea while also incorporating the company’s core focus.

Lu Ming: ”Fuck, that’s badass! ’So long as the sages do not die, the great thieves will not cease.’ We’re even more badass than the sages, right?”

Lin Chu: ”Lay off the fucking fantasy novels! That’s the name. Talk later.”

Lu Ming: ”Hahaha, you got it.”

Ending the chat, Lin Chu couldn’t help but smile. He was in a really good mood today; his whole disposition felt different.

He had class at two in the afternoon.

Two class periods.

The first was Corporate Strategy.

The second was Business Case Study Analysis.

The classes ran from two to five.

Even though it was a full-time program, the schedule was quite reasonable. Instead of fragmented periods, it left large, unbroken blocks of time for the students.

The total number of credit hours wasn’t any less than an undergraduate program, either.

”Let’s do lunch. No drinking. I want to talk about your project.”

Lin Chu sent a quick message to Chen Yuanxing.

He didn’t need to worry about the club for now; the Old Friends Tournament and the Gold Tournament were both running smoothly.

It was time to think about his next goal.

He still had 1.8 billion in his account.

If he didn’t spend it, it was meaningless—just a string of numbers.

The most important thing for him to do now was to convert his on-paper wealth into tangible assets and social influence.

After messaging Chen Yuanxing, Lin Chu sent another quick message, this time to Zhou Ming.

”President Zhou, let’s get ready to start the construction phase for that plot of land in Zeng City. You’re in real estate, so you know this business better than I do. The design needs to be for a nursing home. Can you find a team to handle it for me? Or at least introduce me to someone reliable.”

’The land was already bought.’

’The deal was done.’

’The charitable foundation was still waiting on government approval.’

’I’ve already slept with the girl who’s so passionate about charity.’

’Time to get a move on.’

The message had barely been sent when Zhou Ming called.

”President Lin, you’re a real lifesaver! I just had an old friend in my office, pleading poverty. He’s on the verge of going under, can’t even make payroll, and was asking me if I had any projects. I had nothing for him, but now... this comes along.”

”He’s a contractor I’ve known for years, and he’s worked with Famous Group for a long time. I can vouch for the quality of his work and his efficiency. He’s absolutely reliable. When are you free? I’ll have him host a dinner so we can discuss this properly.”

In these situations, the contractor always foots the bill.

The client is, in every sense of the word, your daddy.

After all, there are too many contractors out there. Without a connection to the client, it’s nearly impossible to land a job. It’s a murky business, all based on personal favors and networking.

Even with projects that go to public tender, it’s the same story behind the scenes.

”Tonight works. Six-thirty. He can pick the place. But I’m not drinking. I drank way too much last night.”

Lin Chu said with a casual laugh.

Zhou Ming: ”Great, no problem. It’s a plan. I’ll send you the location in a little while.”

He hung up.

Lin Chu immediately got out of bed, showered, ate, and got ready to head out.

And so began another happy and fulfilling day for Lin Yingxiong.
