Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 271: Chapter 209: A Gathering of Elites, a Meeting of Beauties

Of course, there was a teasing undertone to his words.

’Came all this way.’

’How about signing up for a membership?’

’Want to learn about golf?’

’Who cares if she’s some celebrity.’

’When you own a business, the boss should be the best salesperson.’

Seeing Lin Chu’s reply, Li Fangfei quickly sent a smiling response: ”Sure, President Lin. Where are you? Which course? I’ll come find you.”

She had actually agreed in the group chat.

Of course, this could just be pleasantries, or she could be serious. He wouldn’t know until they met.

During the class elections, he had been chosen as class president, Li Fangfei had been chosen as a vice president, and the other two vice presidents were Chen Yuanxing and Zhang Xiao.

They happened to be the first four names on the Excel spreadsheet of the class roster.

This, naturally, was no coincidence.

They had all been strangers before, but everyone had made their own judgments based on the personal profiles. What Kong Qi had said about game theory had a point.

In social situations, even among strangers, those with real power will inevitably have status.

If you lack fundamental strength, it’s hard to command respect even if you’re pushed into that position.

After all, a class is just a loose organization, not a rigidly structured and hierarchical one like the government or a corporation.

Moreover, an MBA class was nothing like one for college freshmen, where being handsome, having high emotional intelligence, being a smooth talker, or being good at sports, music, or dancing could all become unique advantages.

After slugging it out in the real world for a few years, the weight of such traits diminishes again and again, until only two vulgar but glittering words remain: Wealth and Power.

”Let’s meet in the lounge in the clubhouse lobby. We can have some tea, and I’ll treat you to lunch.”

Lin Chu replied casually in the group chat. The shuttle cart started moving, and the cool breeze on his face felt wonderfully refreshing.

...

”Bring your classmate and your idol to the lounge for tea. Introduce them to me.”

Sitting in the cart, Lin Chu sent another message to Zhou Luan. His tone was direct, almost an order.

He definitely wanted to meet them. 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

But there was no need to orchestrate some elaborate scenario. ’This is my turf. If I don’t even have that much swagger, what kind of boss am I?’

Zhou Luan quickly replied: ”Huh? We’re watching the tournament.”

Lin Chu glanced at the message and didn’t reply. ’It’s up to her to weigh her options and decide whether to come. I can’t be bothered to come up with another reason.’

He returned to the clubhouse lobby.

He found a lounge where the central air conditioning evenly distributed cool air throughout the room. He lit some incense, brewed a pot of tea, and drank it leisurely.

He looked at a draft on his phone.

Classes started tomorrow.

Kong Qi had sent him a message. A lot of heavyweights would be at the welcome reception tomorrow, including bigwigs from politics, business, and academia—most of them names he often saw in the news.

As the ”class president,” he would also be giving a speech on behalf of the new students.

Kong Qi had thoughtfully prepared a draft of the speech for him. Of course, it was probably based on a previous template, with only a few simple changes.

These were all tedious procedures, but they were still necessary.

Whether it was him or these ”bigwigs,” they all had to follow an unwritten code. The prestigious name of Peking University wasn’t just for show.

Taking a sip of tea, Lin Chu shook his head with a smile and continued reading the draft.

He was suddenly reminded of an interview he’d seen in college. It was with a man named Li Ao who, when invited to speak at Peking University, had openly discussed some incredibly audacious topics. The Peking University leaders in attendance turned pale on the spot, looking like they wanted to run up and stuff a toilet plunger in his mouth.

’That guy was a real badass.’

KNOCK KNOCK.

A knock on the tearoom door suddenly interrupted Lin Chu’s wandering thoughts.

”Come in!”

Li Fangfei entered in a gust of perfume. Behind her was a rather beautiful girl in her twenties, who he guessed was either an assistant or a subordinate.

Li Fangfei was over forty, and her figure had admittedly lost its shape, but she had the distinct air of a wealthy madam. She had even changed her clothes into a casual-style evening gown and high heels—an outfit clearly not meant for the golf course. She must have just changed.

’Classy.’

”Chairman Lin, hello. I’m Li Fangfei.”

After entering, she took a step forward and extended her hand.

Lin Chu stood up, walked out from behind the tea table, and shook her hand with a smile. ”Welcome, welcome. Please, sit. You’re a big star. I never expected you to suddenly show up at my place today.”

”I happen to live nearby and heard about this, so I came to take a look. It’s quite a grand affair. Are the member benefits at the LC Club always this good?”

Li Fangfei replied with a smile, taking a seat and motioning for the girl she brought with her to sit as well.

The girl displayed a cautious demeanor, giving Lin Chu a polite, sweet smile and a slight nod, but said nothing.

She probably felt that in a setting like this, it wasn’t her place to speak until Li Fangfei introduced her.

Lin Chu placed a teacup in front of each of them, poured tea, and smiled casually. ”We’re just having fun. Most of the members are friends. They give me their business, so I spend a little money to let everyone have a good time.”

”Business is so tough these days. If you don’t provide good service, you won’t make it.”

”And you? So busy, yet you have the mind to go back to school. Are you planning to become a boss, or are you one already?”

Lin Chu spoke quickly, his words carrying a swift, decisive energy and a subtle, commanding pressure.

’As for an imposing air, I’m not lacking in that department either.’

’I’ve even managed to act the part.’

’The price is that I can’t be as flippant as before. Otherwise, I’d definitely be cracking dirty jokes left and right.’
