Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 257: Chapter 204: Mr. 1.8 Billion’s Prestige

Lin Chu’s tone was scolding, as if he were reprimanding an employee.

Hearing this, and seeing such an attitude, President Li shot to his feet and questioned angrily, ”President Lin, what is this attitude? Is this how you treat the club’s members?”

Lin Chu stared right at him, a defiant glint in his eyes.

”Aren’t you about to not be one anymore?”

”Why should I be nice to someone who wishes me ill?”

”But sit down first. No rush. You can at least have a sip of tea.”

Lin Chu’s first sentence was a question, as was his second, but he delivered the third with a smile before sitting down himself.

Then he looked to the other side.

”You two over there. Come on, spill it. Who sent you?”

”A national team member and a top-tier amateur. Here to shark the rookies?”

”Looking to fleece the flock, huh? No problem. I’ve got money to burn. Tens of millions? That’s nothing. How about this: you tell me who sent you, and I’ll give each of you a top-tier annual membership, free of charge. Getting a secondhand one is so tacky, it’s beneath the status of you two.”

When in doubt, Lin Chu’s first move was to let out his inner rogue, tinged with the extravagance of a multi-billionaire.

For a moment, everyone in the lounge, including Xin Fu, frowned slightly, considering how to respond.

”I want to transfer my membership!”

”I want to transfer it now!”

”It’s my legal right as a long-standing member!”

President Li suddenly shot up again and shouted, looking very agitated as he tried to apply more pressure.

Lin Chu watched him, his expression blank. ”Fine. But will it be sold at a premium? If so, that’s equivalent to a commercial sale, which involves tax issues. I need to be clear on that.”

President Li was stunned into silence.

It was a possibility he hadn’t even considered.

He couldn’t help but glance at his ”buyer.”

Lin Chu followed his gaze.

Yuan Cheng was a tall, tough-looking young man with an American-style muscular build and tattoos on his arms. With his arms crossed, he lazily watched the scene unfold and said with a calm smile, ”President Lin, you’re holding a competition with a huge prize pool. It’s all just to make a name for yourself, right? What’s the point of watching a bunch of rookies peck at each other? You need a few masters to liven things up.”

”You can’t keep me from playing just because I’m too good, can you?”

”What’s the point of running a golf club then?”

Lin Chu glanced at him, returning an identical smile. ”Oh, we’ll play. In fact, let’s play a bigger game. I’ll set up a Gold Professional tournament. I’ll let all of you register. The champion’s prize is one hundred million. You in? Or don’t you dare?”

It was a flash of inspiration, a genuine brainwave.

Any problem that money could solve wasn’t really a problem at all.

Besides, if he could really pull this off, the prestige would be immense. It would create a system running parallel to the Old Friends Gold Tournament.

With a prize of one hundred million, Lin Chu didn’t believe for a second that the pros wouldn’t be tempted.

Hearing this, Yuan Cheng’s lips twitched. For a moment, he was speechless, his brow furrowing slightly.

After a moment, he scoffed, ”You’re full of it.”

Lin Chu couldn’t be bothered to argue with him.

’Little punk. You know nothing about the power of money.’

He turned to Xin Fu. ”Old Xin, let’s do it. Draft up the detailed regulations. The LC Club is hosting a professional Gold tournament. If the venue isn’t big enough, I’ll contact Mission Hills to co-host. This is the inaugural year, so there’s no budget limit. I want a top-tier lineup for the opening ceremony. If you can get Tiger to come, whatever his asking price is, we’ll pay it.”

”We’ll need to invite at least two reigning world champions, right? Money is no object. The budget is unlimited.”

”And for the opening ceremony, we have to get a girl group to do a hot dance number, right? No problem, book them. I talked to them about this before at Mission Hills, but Xiaozhu was reluctant, thought the budget was too high. Over here, though, we’re not short on that kind of cash.”

”A hundred million for the champion’s prize. Make a huge spectacle of it. We can just treat it as a show for our long-standing members. We’re just having fun, right? It’s only money.”

”And one more thing... make sure the regulations are solid. Don’t let every Tom, Dick, and Harry come here stirring up trouble.”

”That’s the plan. I’ll leave the rest of the details to you.”

His train of thought now completely clear, Lin Chu spoke with a breezy confidence, then lit a cigarette and stood up.

”Gentlemen, you can take your time chatting.”

”I have other business to attend to. Don’t waste my time.”

With that, Lin Chu turned and walked briskly out of the lounge.

Watching his retreating back, Xin Fu’s prominent Adam’s apple bobbed, and his eyes shone with a brilliant light.

It was the first time he’d ever thought a man could be so damn cool.

’President Lin, you’re a fucking legend!’
