Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

176: This is the first time this guy has taken the initiative.Above the Sky Curtain protective shield, Luo Sen and Si Nan immediately jumped down after firing the second wave. Si Nan was quickly led away from the Residential Area by Luo Sen.

No matter how sturdy, explosion-proof, and fireproof the Sky Curtain was, it couldn’t withstand repeated attacks from malicious shells. The power of any Rocket Launcher was not to be underestimated; they could even pierce the hulls of an Armored Vehicle. They were afraid the houses wouldn’t hold up, and they absolutely could not let the homes they lived in be destroyed.

Luo Sen was too fast, flickering frequently while holding Si Nan. As long as he was fast enough, the shells couldn’t hit him, which infuriated the people in the helicopters overhead who were dealing with them.

“Blast him! I don’t believe we can’t blow him to death.” Half of their helicopters had already been destroyed. What was infuriating was that they hadn’t managed to do anything; they could only watch the villas below. The firepower from below was so fierce they couldn’t descend at all.

Judging by the current situation, they couldn’t complete the mission at all. It was like seeing a ghost; had everyone from the previous wave under the Black Boss died out?

Not a single word of information had been reported to them. The situation below remained unclear; currently, only two people with two Rocket Launchers were participating in the battle.

“Nan Nan, hold me tight.” Before a barrage of attacks fell, Luo Sen told Si Nan to hug his waist tightly so he could free his hands to fire the Rocket Launcher with peace of mind.

“No, I’ll be a burden to you like this. I’ll drive the Armored Vehicle.” Si Nan suddenly let go of Luo Sen, released an Armored Vehicle amidst the thick smoke, jumped inside, loaded a shell, and aimed at a helicopter in the sky—bang, bang, bang—

Along with Luo Sen, the two of them took out five helicopters in one go. Explosions echoed across the land, the earth shook, and the surrounding zombie horde was affected, with many being blown to pieces.

“One, two, three... there are four left. Again!” Si Nan locked onto another helicopter and fired.

In the process of reloading, she was instead locked onto by two shells.

“Don’t even think about it.” Luo Sen was quick-eyed and deft-handed, intercepting them in front of the Armored Vehicle. He fired two shells in succession, blowing up one of the incoming ones, but another was about to hit the Armored Vehicle.

In the nick of time, a small shell flew out from the Residential Area to intercept the enemy attack. Si Nan and Luo Sen’s speed below wasn’t slow either; the Armored Vehicle had already fled its original position.

If it exploded, the Armored Vehicle might suffer heavy damage, but the two of them would definitely be fine. This move thoroughly provoked Luo Sen. “Drive into the Sky Curtain, leave the rest to me.”

“Okay.” Si Nan was determined not to be a drag. After Luo Sen got out, she immediately accelerated toward the back gate of the rear area. Jian Bing and Song Yuan were not far from the back gate; seeing the Armored Vehicle driving over, the two immediately opened the gate to let Si Nan in smoothly.

Luo Sen only felt relieved after seeing Si Nan enter safely. He looked up at the remaining three helicopters changing positions.

“Phew!” After getting out of the vehicle, Si Nan let out a long breath of turbid air. She loaded a small shell, shouldered her Rocket Launcher, and squinted to lock onto the helicopters in the sky. There were exactly three left; she, Luo Sen, and Jian Bing each aimed at one. “Boom!”

“Bang, bang, bang!” After three loud explosions, the two waves of enemies were finally dealt with.

Song Yuan and Guan Xiaoning were responsible for cleaning up the battlefield. Looking around, the white snow had diminished significantly. Areas like the golf course and the race track no longer needed manual tilling; the soil had been completely blasted up.

They picked up some enemy equipment. Unfortunately, although two waves of people had come with so many helicopters, not a single one was left intact.

From the enemy cell phones they picked up, they learned some details. Combined with some internal information Jian Bing had obtained from Ji Yan, Si Nan identified the three major families that had attacked her.

That night, Si Nan made a decision. “Counter-attacking is the best defense. They won’t give up so easily, but having just suffered a failure, they won’t be able to send more people after us immediately. This is our best chance for a counter-strike.”

Jian Bing frowned. “True. Giving them a fatal blow right now would mean they can’t jump around anymore. But we don’t have a helicopter; that’s the only feasible and safe means of transportation right now.”

Luo Sen spoke up calmly, “Who says we don’t have helicopters? We do! There’s one in this villa, and another hidden in the Residential Area. When we go out this time, I hope to bring back a few more.”

“Really?” Jian Bing asked excitedly.

“Really, would your Apprentice lie to you? We’re taking them from that first wave of enemies; it’s time to fulfill that promise. The first wave was a wealthy tycoon named Yao from G City. It’s said he emptied several supermarkets; I’m going to take a look.”

“There are still three hours until dawn. Master, Luo Sen, and I will go rest. After dawn, we’ll eat and drink our fill and set out immediately. I’ll leave the villa to Song Yuan and Bai Zichuan. No matter who comes, don’t hesitate to fight back.”

“Don’t worry, Sister Nan. As long as we’re here, the villa stands,” Song Yuan and Bai Zichuan vowed.

“Good. Dismissed, rest.” Si Nan stood up, her walk full of momentum.

Covered in snow and blood from the explosions, Si Nan took a hot bath after returning and went to bed. She fell asleep so quickly that by the time Luo Sen finished washing up and came out, she was already in a deep sleep. Even if Luo Sen wanted to do something, he had no chance.

Outside the window, mountains were broken and the world had changed. The roars of zombies were as terrifying as the heavens collapsing. The vast land was plunged into boundless darkness, with the faint morning light in the east alternating with the night; it was the moment of transition between the world that was passing and the world that was coming.

At first glance, the darkness still seemed infinitely powerful and boundless, but in the blink of an eye, the winter dawn arrived, and the eastern sky turned into porcelain-blue clouds.

Suddenly, a thin parabola rose from the ink-blue clouds. This line was transparently red and shimmering with golden light, like boiling solution being splashed up, then it shot into the clouds like a rocket.

Luo Sen watched all this, watching the bright day burst out from the night in an instant, too fast to catch. But looking at this light, he hadn’t felt like cheering since the Apocalypse began.

Light arrives so quickly, but when will this era of zombies end? Probably no one knows.

He kept his eyes open, staring out the window until Si Nan turned over and startled him. Looking at the quiet sleeping face beside his leg—the sleeping face he loved—his heart, which had been chilled by the desolate world, suddenly warmed up again.

He was actually satisfied; having Si Nan was enough. He leaned down and pressed his thin lips against Si Nan’s sleeping ones. Fearing he would wake her, it was just a light touch like a dragonfly skimming the water before he immediately pulled away.

“Whoosh!” Si Nan opened her sleepy eyes and looked at the face close at hand. “Are you sneak-attacking me?”

As their eyes met, Luo Sen laughed heartily. “Hahaha, you caught me. Still sleeping?”

“Not sleeping anymore, but I’m hungry.” Si Nan reached out and smilingly cupped Luo Sen’s face.

Luo Sen held her hand, his long fingers dotingly tapping Si Nan’s delicate nose, and chuckled helplessly. “Alright, sleep a bit more, I’ll get up and make breakfast for you.”

“Then I’ll have a little snack first.” Si Nan suddenly pulled Luo Sen’s head down with force, her pink lips actively pressing onto Luo Sen’s thin lips.

“Boom!”

Luo Sen, who already had zero resistance against her, felt a surge of joy in his grey-blue eyes. He then closed them to enjoy Si Nan’s initiative—it was so rare. This was the first time this guy had initiated; how could he not seize the opportunity?

As a result, it only lasted a few seconds. Just as his blood was burning and flowing in reverse, Si Nan suddenly pushed him away. “You can go make breakfast now. We’ll set out early and fight a beautiful counter-attack.”

Luo Sen, burning with desire: “...”
