Reborn As Super Heiress

The majority of the police force from Dali City had already assembled, and each officer was fully armed. The officers at the forefront were wearing bulletproof vests, looking extremely tense.

But for Lei De, this seemed quite normal because he had already received intelligence from Ye Yuhai. The woman standing in the center holding a gun was a wanted fugitive responsible for several murders, classified as a top-level terrorist.

Facing someone like this, who also injured others with gunfire, it was entirely reasonable for the police to treat the situation as if they were confronting an enemy to prevent any riots.

However, when Lei De saw several military trucks arrive, and squads of SWAT officers, armed to the teeth, jump off the trucks, he was utterly shocked.

Damn, there were at least fifty SWAT officers, each equipped with the standard Type 95 automatic rifles, and they all had a menacing demeanor.

After a brief assembly at the tea garden entrance, the leading SWAT officer made a gesture, drawing a circle and then signaling strangely. The SWAT squad swiftly dispersed and surrounded the tea garden, covering all possible escape routes.

Witnessing this, even Lei De was left agape with astonishment, internally cursing, ”What on earth is going on? Mobilizing such a large SWAT force, this is way too much!”

Isn’t it just about capturing two hoodlums? Even if they have a handgun, there are only two of them, is all this fanfare really necessary?

This is like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut!

As Lei De counted them, he felt there was something wrong.

So many SWAT officers who seemed like elites—has the Dali City’s entire Armed Police brigade been summoned?

Damn, this woman must be extremely formidable to force the Public Security Bureau to mobilize the Armed Police. Could she be an exceptionally dangerous terrorist?

The more Lei De thought, the more plausible it seemed—damn, the way the woman fired the gun so calmly, killing like it was child’s play.

Her indifferent and cold demeanor, and those eyes filled with killing intent—just thinking about it made Lei De shiver with fear; a chill ran up from his feet, causing a moment of panic.

Lei De internally lamented, ”Damn it, this Zhao Jie brought nothing but trouble—what kind of crazy woman did he bring here?!”

At this moment, the SWAT officers had already noticed Huo Sining standing in front of the yard. Upon seeing her holding a gun and hearing Lei De shout that the woman had killed someone, they immediately grew anxious.

A sound of clattering ensued as the SWAT officers loaded their weapons and aimed at the central figures, Huo Sining and Yu Fei’s group.

Since Du Wenfeng and Tan Minghui didn’t anticipate such a situation beforehand, they had instructed the SWAT team to address a riot in Xiakan Village. Therefore, the SWAT officers were unaware that they were actually dispatched to protect Huo Sining.

”Don’t move! Put the gun down!”

The armed police officers yelled at Huo Sining, treating her as a threat.

Seeing this, Lei De, bolstered by the morale, became invigorated, disregarding his leg wound and loudly commanded:

”Officers, that’s the woman, and those beside her are her accomplices! They are the ones who shot and injured people; arrest them quickly! That woman kills without batting an eye, and the man in black beside her claims to have countless murders to his name. Surely, they are all fugitives; arrest these dangerous people...”

Lei De hadn’t finished speaking when suddenly a cold gun muzzle was pressed against his head, and a SWAT officer demanded coldly:

”Hands on your head, against the wall! Don’t move!”

Lei De was a bit bewildered, but being held at gunpoint made him nervous. He shivered all over, obediently leaned against the wall, and raised his hands to clasp his head, yet he was still unwilling to relent, continuing to explain:

”No, officers, you’ve got it wrong. I’m a victim, too! The woman and her accomplices are the killers—I’m here to help capture fugitives...”

”Shut up!”

The SWAT officer maintained a bureaucratic demeanor, glaring at him without listening.

Seeing this, Lei De dared not utter another word, promptly shutting his mouth.

Yu Fei and the others, upon seeing the SWAT forces arrive, armed and ready, were momentarily stunned.

They hadn’t fully grasped the situation and assumed that these officers were summoned by Lei De’s associates to harm Huo Sining.

As members of Falcon, they had faced numerous dangers. Instinctively, they prepared for combat under such circumstances.

No matter what, Huo Sining was their captain’s wife. With their captain absent, they absolutely couldn’t allow her to be bullied by these local henchmen!

Before Yu Fei and the others could act, Huo Sining and Wu Jun stopped them. Huo Sining even cooperatively laid her handgun on the ground, indicating she posed no further threat.

”What’s going on, sis? Where did these guys come from?” Yu Fei quietly inquired.

Huo Sining simply smiled, remaining silent.

She and Wu Jun immediately recognized the scale of the deployment meant the secretary and his assistant must have arrived.

There was no way Luohua County had this many police and SWAT officers; Lei De might be in cahoots with a few local officials, but summoning such a heavily armed SWAT force wasn’t possible.

Not even Lei De could do it—without an order from the provincial authorities, the Dali City Public Security Department couldn’t deploy the armed police.

Such a situation needed an emergency order from the top, coordinated directly by provincial leaders, to achieve such precision and rapidity.

That’s why Huo Sining calmly laid her gun down, knowing these must be allies.

Huo Sining turned to the leading SWAT officer, raising her voice:

”Officers, those thugs in black suits across are the actual criminals. Look at their weapons, they attacked us with steel pipes and machetes—I only used a gun to protect myself.

”I am Colonel Huo Sining of the Imperial Capital Military Region’s 24th Corps, and these beside me are active-duty officers from the Falcon Team of the 27th Group Army.”

Upon hearing this, the SWAT officers at the front exchanged bewildered looks, and the SWAT team captain instinctively asked:

”Do you have any identification?”
