Reborn As Super Heiress

Wu Ya was ultimately young and hadn’t seen such a scene before. Moreover, her parents were harmed in this village, so she naturally harbored a negative shadow against it. In the face of such a sudden change, she became incredibly anxious. She nervously watched those thugs while also worrying about her brother.

”Bro, should we just go back? What if we can’t beat that Brother De, who’s so formidable?”

On the side, Huo Sining had already positioned Yaya behind her when the conflict began. Though she hadn’t acted, her eyes remained vigilant, fixed on everything around, ready to respond to any sudden situation.

Wu Ya’s concerns weren’t unfounded. Wu Jun, having a background in special forces, had strong combat capabilities. However, a pair of fists were no match for multiple hands. Given Brother De’s numerous men and his local reputation, it was hard to say if just the three of them could gain any advantage should a fight break out.

However, Wu Jun was stubborn by nature and proud, unwilling to tolerate injustice. One could see from the time he took down those drug traffickers that he acted rashly and assertively. Therefore, he didn’t take his sister’s words to heart.

This time he returned with the intention of properly settling his parents’ graves. He had even thought of entrusting a villager to help him maintain the graves and offer incense annually. Unexpectedly, in just a few years, home had undergone such change, and his parents’ graves had disappeared.

This made Wu Jun extremely angry and guilty. His parents had been innocently killed because of him, and his sister suffered greatly due to him. The debt he owed his parents could never be repaid, nor did he have the opportunity to make amends. So he could only give his all for his sister.

He thought, having made something of himself, he could finally return home in triumph, provide an explanation to his parents resting underground, and bring them peace. But little did he expect that even after death, his parents couldn’t rest easily, with their graves being dug up.

Moreover, he had seen the dodging and fearful eyes of tea-picking women who gathered to watch the commotion. Given Brother De’s influence here, these women working in the tea gardens were likely coerced.

The whole village was probably under Brother De’s control. Otherwise, those security thugs wouldn’t have said such beastly things like widows and young girls weren’t fun.

These scumbags were utterly lawless, unspeakably brazen!

If one can tolerate this, what can’t be tolerated? If he, Wu Jun, could overlook such things, he wouldn’t be worthy of being part of Falcon!

However, he knew his sister was timid. Encountering something like this, she certainly couldn’t handle it adeptly. So he didn’t forget to ask Huo Sining on the side:

”Miss Huo, if any conflict arises later, don’t worry about me. But I entrust my sister’s safety to you.”

Huo Sining understood Wu Jun’s intention. While she wasn’t capable of handling all those thugs, she could certainly protect Wu Ya. So she nodded immediately, smiled, and said:

”No problem, Yaya is my sister too. Who else would take care of her if not me? Rest assured, if anything happens, go ahead and do what you wish. If necessary, we’ll find help. Though this isn’t our primary battleground, we can still find some people if needed.”

Wu Jun knew what Huo Sining’s suggestion of finding help meant. Given her current status, if she really wanted assistance, just a phone call would likely bring countless insiders rushing to handle it.

However, Wu Jun was aware that Huo Sining chose this discreet outing with them, not wanting to draw the attention of local figures. Hence, unless absolutely necessary, he indeed didn’t want to make a scene.

So Wu Jun smiled gently, shook his head slightly at Huo Sining, and said, ”Let’s first see the situation; if we can’t handle it, you can step in.”

Huo Sining chuckled, didn’t speak. She saw Wu Jun clearly didn’t want her intervening.

Therefore, she didn’t rush to express her stance, thinking a mere local bully couldn’t cause much trouble. But her gaze slowly swept past the timid tea women, dimming her eyes slightly.

In her eyes, a local bully wasn’t much of a concern. But to these ordinary folks, such a person was a tyrant, to be feared without challenge. If one ran into trouble, they could only swallow the injustice, with resisting likely resulting in injury without recourse.

Such matters are everywhere. With distance from authority and prevalent police-gang collusion, these thugs with some manpower and money can dominate locally, nobody daring to speak out.

Where there’s sunlight, there’s bound to be shadows. Such matters are numerous. Huo Sining knew she couldn’t manage all of them given her capacity, nor did she have the energy.

But having encountered this matter today, to ignore it would certainly be impossible.

True to her nature, she couldn’t just turn a blind eye, especially since this issue concerned the Wu elders’ graves and the forest lands under Wu Jun and Wu Ya’s names. She couldn’t just let it pass.

So she signaled to Wu Jun, allowing him to cause a stir. If the situation became unmanageable, she’d step in to pick up the pieces. A test to see what Brother De’s true capabilities were—could he really obscure the sky?

During the wait, some old men carrying hoes, who were working in the tea garden on weeding and maintenance, seemed to hear the commotion and cautiously approached.

A group of tea-picking women couldn’t help but gossip, crowded around the old men, describing the previous events while murmuring among themselves and pointing nervously at Wu Jun, their eyes filled with unspeakable tension and worry.

Huo Sining and the others didn’t speak, letting the villagers talk. Unexpectedly, at that moment, one raggedly dressed old man’s body suddenly stiffened, his gaze falling on Wu Jun and Wu Ya, showing an astonished look.

Soon, unsure, the old man took a few steps forward, closer to Wu Jun, and cautiously asked in a tentative tone:

”Are you... that Jun Zi from the Wu family?”
