Reborn As Super Heiress

”The family called the police, but those from the station just came to mediate, completely shilly-shallying and entirely siding with Boss De and those thugs.”

”People from the government stepped in to do some persuasion, even issued a notice saying that if anyone’s family caused trouble, even the land distributed to households would be taken back.”

”Everyone got scared, without land, how can we farm? And Boss De is very ruthless, who’s daring enough to offend him? So everyone reluctantly accepted their bad luck, obediently signed their names, and no one dared to object.”

Hearing about the origins of this tea garden, Wu Jun was already furious. If he hadn’t happened to return today, he wouldn’t have even known such a thing had happened in the village!

This bunch of scumbags, bullying ordinary people who are timid and afraid to speak up, and that’s why they are running wild and dominating the area!

Beside him, Yaya was more attentive to the details than Wu Jun, and asked curiously:

”Was everyone supposed to sign the lease contract? Why didn’t we know anything about it? My family’s mountain was also taken over by Boss De, even my parents’ grave is gone, yet we didn’t receive any news!”

Liao Agong was stunned for a moment, saying:

”Of course, each household had to send a representative to sign, and in that situation, no family dared not to sign.”

”Your family’s probably had your uncle and aunt sign on your behalf, but the fact that they didn’t inform you about it is really inappropriate!”

”And as far as I know, your family grew quite a few green pines on the mountain, all dug up and sold in advance by your uncle, didn’t you know about that too?”

Wu Ya’s face immediately changed, shaking her head and gritting her teeth she said:

”Brother, this is too much! Such a big matter they kept from us, even sold our trees, and needless to say, the lease money was definitely pocketed by them!”

”Back when our parents were alive, they supported them quite a lot, and now that they’re gone, they’ve done such despicable things, truly heartless ingrates!”

Wu Jun was also angry at heart, hating his uncle and aunt’s actions deeply, but he was clear-minded enough to realize that the money wasn’t the main issue. The priority now was to find out where his parents’ graves went.

”Agong, I remember there are quite a few family graves on this mountain, ancestors of the village have been buried here for generations, when the forest was cleared, with all trees dug up, what about those graves? Where did the graves go?”

Mentioning this, Liao Agong was quite furious:

”Boss De is a real bastard, in order to develop the forest early and plant his tea trees, he immediately used ten excavators to start work overnight, forcing all the graves on the mountain to be moved.”

”Those with connections quickly found a cemetery and reburied the graves, those without just gathered the bones and buried them in a pit on their own field ridges or courtyards.”

”Tampering with ancestral graves is an act against moral virtue, what Boss De did is morally bankrupt and will definitely be met with retribution!”

Wu Jun’s face grew colder. When this happened, he wasn’t in the village, and with his uncle and aunt’s morals, there’s no way they would suddenly become charitable enough to help gather his parents’ remains.

So where did his parents’ bones go? They couldn’t have been left to rot in the wilderness, crushed by those tea garden excavators, buried into the soil of the entire tea garden, could they?

Thinking of this possibility, Wu Jun’s eyes reddened instantly, filled with a fierce intent.

His aura when it emerged was naturally felt by Liao Agong beside him, who saw Wu Jun’s twisted face full of anger, was taken aback and hurriedly persuaded:

”Xiao Jun, listen to Agong, let this matter go, quickly take your sister and your wife and run, don’t stand here stupidly waiting. If Boss De brings people here, you won’t be able to run.”

In Liao Agong’s words, Wu Jun’s wife referred to Huo Sining, obviously misunderstood, thinking Wu Jun brought his sister and wife back home this time to pay respects to his parents.

But in this situation, no one would bother correcting this misunderstanding, Huo Sining didn’t even bother to explain her identity to the old man.

Seeing Wu Jun silent, Liao Agong continued to persuade:

”Don’t blame Agong for talking too much, a matter like this you can’t solve alone.”

”You were a soldier, Agong knows you’re capable, but you also need to consider your family, not to mention your uncle and aunty, what about your sister, do you have the heart to see this young girl take risks with you?”

”Years ago when you caused trouble outside, offended people, didn’t your parents lose their lives because of this? They died unjustly, haven’t you learned your lesson? A dragon cannot crush a snake in its lair, you’ve lost your parents, don’t drag your sister into this too!”

The grizzly retribution faced by the Wu Family Parents, getting their throats slit, was a sensation throughout the county, causing an uproar, so the villagers are aware of Wu Jun’s situation.

Although Wu Jun and Wu Ya left the village for many years and rarely came back, people in the village still occasionally mention the Wu Family’s affairs.

But the villagers didn’t know that it was due to Wu Jun’s anti-drug duties that led to the retaliation. After the incident, rumors flew around the village saying Wu Jun did bad things outside, offended people, and that’s why his parents were murdered.

Anti-drug missions were classified, not allowed to reveal a single word, so over these years, Wu Jun never explained, letting the villagers speculate and defame.

Thus, the villagers’ impression of Wu Jun wasn’t good, knowing he offended formidable enemies, fearing getting involved could implicate them.

No one wanted someone to suddenly come to demand their life while comfortably living at home, which is why people naturally avoided Wu Jun and Wu Ya, not daring to approach them.

This is also why, when Liao Agong mentioned Wu Jun is Big Wu Family’s soldier boy, those old men hurriedly found excuses to leave.

Under unfamiliar circumstances, avoiding risks is human instinct.

However, Wu Jun didn’t expect Liao Agong to risk offending Boss De to say such caring words to him.

This let Wu Jun, initially full of anger feeling his heart was burning up, unexpectedly feel a wave of warmth.

He lowered his head looking at this stooped old man, nodded slightly, smiled and said:

”Liao Agong, don’t worry, I won’t do anything imprudent. It’s you who should be careful not to get involved, now that those people haven’t arrived yet, go back first, once this is all settled, I will visit your home!”
