Reborn As Super Heiress

Early in the morning, Huo Sining and the others walked out of the hotel. According to the customs of the hometown, Wu Jun bought incense candles, paper money, and paper-made lanterns, houses, cars, and other items from a shop in town to use for the mountain rituals.

In addition, he also bought a curved knife and a hoe, ready to repair his parents’ graves on the mountain, and clear nearby weeds and trees so the entire grave mound wouldn’t be buried.

Then, the three of them headed straight to the village. Although the place was poor, it wasn’t as Huo Sining thought; there was at least a cement road from the town to the village.

Huo Sining was still grumbling inside, but at this moment, Wu Jun, who was looking for the road, suddenly had a strange expression, and even Yaya looked confused.

”When we left a few years ago, these were all gravel paths. You had to be very careful riding a motorcycle, how come there’s a cement road now?”

Yaya couldn’t help but ask.

Huo Sining was taken aback, but didn’t overthink it, just turned back and cheerfully said to Yaya, ”That’s a good thing. The government must have funded it. Nowadays, to get rich, you first build roads. Your village is ahead of most rural areas in the country.”

However, Wu Jun frowned and was not as optimistic as Huo Sining:

”No, this road definitely wasn’t built by the government. It’s only three meters wide, can’t accommodate vehicles, and the government wouldn’t build a road like this. Plus, if you look ahead, the road leads straight to the village but doesn’t extend to other villagers’ homes.”

Following Wu Jun’s words, Huo Sining looked at the newly built cement road, and was speechless upon seeing it. Indeed, if this road was funded by the government, there was no reason to build it so narrow, failing to meet vehicle specifications, and it didn’t benefit each villager’s home. Instead, it stretched all the way into the deep mountains.

”Maybe someone from your village became wealthy and funded the road construction?”

Huo Sining laughed.

This is quite usual. Many successful people tend to come back to their villages to initiate construction, build a villa in the mountains, and lay out a road. In such cases, whoever builds the road takes charge, without needing to consider other villagers, so narrowing the road is understandable.

However, Wu Ya, standing nearby, opposed Huo Sining’s statement.

”Our village doesn’t have rich tycoons; we’re all farming people.”

Upon hearing this, Huo Sining couldn’t help but chuckle: ”But you have been away for several years; isn’t it possible for someone to emerge as an influential person during these years?”

The siblings didn’t reply, but Wu Jun’s pace started to quicken; they hurried home eagerly, no longer delaying.

Walking forward along the cement road for another two to three miles, they finally reached the village. Huo Sining was about to ask Wu Jun for directions when unexpectedly, Wu Ya suddenly exclaimed:

”Brother, look over there!”

Huo Sining was stunned and instinctively followed Wu Ya’s finger.

Behind the mountain village was a series of mountains that had been bulldozed and flattened; the entire mountain transformed into several small mounds. Now, those mounds are covered with rows of tea trees. Although it was deep winter, Yun Province’s warm and humid climate allowed those tea trees to remain lush and green, with many tender tea buds growing, hence many people were working in the mountains.

Huo Sining suddenly understood the reason for the newly built cement road. It wasn’t because some wealthy individual built a villa, but because the village had developed a tea plantation.

Given the size of the tea plantation, it could produce significant amounts of tea throughout the year, and without a road, transporting the processed tea would be impossible, so this isn’t surprising.

However, Huo Sining was puzzled over why Wu Ya was so shocked, and when he turned to look at Wu Jun, he saw this usually calm and steady Soldier King tightly clenching his fists, veins bulging, eyes glaring fiercely at the tea plantation, full of anger and fury.

Huo Sining’s eyebrows knitted unconsciously; she instinctively sensed that this trip might stir up some minor incidents.

”Yaya, what’s wrong? What happened?” Noticing Wu Jun’s mood was off, Huo Sining hurriedly asked Wu Ya.

The little girl was so angry that her face turned red and her body trembled, her small face filled with urgency:

”The tea plantation, it used to be my family’s mountain! My parents’ grave was built there!”

”What?!” Huo Sining was shocked after hearing this, immediately raised her head and looked in the direction Wu Ya indicated, but there were only tidy rows of tea mounds left; the grave mound was nowhere to be seen.

Huo Sining suddenly had a bad feeling: ”Could you be mistaken?”

Wu Ya stamped her foot angrily: ”How could I be mistaken? When the land was divided, my brother and I were both here. The village secretary measured it right in front of us with a ruler!”

”There were over a hundred pine trees in the mountains, planted by my father before. When my parents were buried on the mountain, those pine trees were already as thick as bowls!”

”But now it’s all gone; those trees have vanished, replaced by a tea plantation. Where are my parents’ graves then?”

Wu Ya’s eyes were filled with panic, and Wu Jun’s face was also somber. He didn’t bother speaking to Huo Sining, and directly strode towards the tea plantation.

A row of iron fences surrounded the tea plantation, equipped with several surveillance cameras, looking quite professional. However, such installations were nothing to a Special Forces Soldier King.

Wu Jun ignored the old man guarding the gate, stepped over the iron fence, and sprinted toward the mountain.

The elderly guard naturally noticed the anomaly on the monitor, quickly poked his head out and shouted upward:

”Hey, you brat, what are you doing? Who told you to climb? You know this is off-limits, so come out! Hey, hey, hey... what do you intend to do?”

Seeing Wu Jun ignoring him and rushing forward, the old man grew anxious. He pulled out his walkie-talkie to call in the security patrol team for backup while charging into the tea plantation, trying to stop Wu Jun.

With the guardroom vacated, Huo Sining and Wu Ya naturally sneaked into the tea plantation through it.

Once inside, Huo Sining realized she had underestimated the size of the tea plantation; looking around, it spanned at least a hundred acres, and the entire series of hills behind the village had been leveled and planted with tea trees.
