Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 2467: Chapter 2370: Provocation Strategy

Not only Saiji, but the seed of hatred towards the Dongyang people still remains deeply rooted in the hearts of the Hua people, because the atrocities committed by these invaders in Hua Country years ago were too notorious.

Although most people understand that the Dongyang people living today are not the same group that invaded China back then, what does it matter? Those crimes are indelibly imprinted on the Dongyang people.

Huo Sining is not a nationalist. Initially, when she went abroad to Dongdu and saw the polite and respectful demeanor of the Dongyang people, she couldn’t help but admire the high quality of this nation.

But does that negate the bloodshed and brutality of this nation seventy years ago? No, at least, when Huo Sining entered the Dongdu Museum and saw the countless Hua artifacts stored in its warehouse, the hatred and indignation in her heart erupted.

Those artifacts are the most compelling evidence of this nation’s invasion of Hua Country, yet this nation feels no shame but takes pride in it!

Exactly because of this, it was in Dongdu that Huo Sining impulsively decided to reclaim that batch of Hua artifacts to teach the Dongdu Museum and the Dongyang people a lesson.

In fact, if it weren’t for her storage ring not having enough space, Huo Sining might have emptied out the entire museum warehouse, but with limited space, she could only take as many items as possible.

So to this day, Huo Sining still regrets not being able to take the remaining artifacts from the Dongdu Museum.

She knows well that such theft tactics were actually very reckless, and were it not for good luck meeting Hattori Keiko’s group that day, her operation wouldn’t have succeeded by luck, and she might have been exposed.

Such an operation can only happen once, and cannot be done a second time.

Due to this lesson, the Dongdu Museum will definitely strengthen its security, and its security system will surely be upgraded repeatedly, to the point where not even a mosquito could get in.

Facing this situation, Huo Sining certainly wouldn’t foolishly walk into a trap, and it’s not like she would pick the same target for revenge, even if she wanted to steal artifacts, she would target other Dongyang museums and strike when they are least prepared.

Of course, that’s later talk, because after Huo Sining stole a batch of artifacts in Dongdu, some suspicion fell on her from the East Ocean Police Bureau, at least from the information Gu Xu later relayed to her. On her way leaving Dongdu and flying back to Hua Country, several police officers were secretly investigating her, clearly doubting her identity.

But even if there’s suspicion, what does it matter? They can’t get evidence, so they can’t do anything about it.

However, Huo Sining is certain that she is now on the blacklist of the East Ocean Police Bureau, and once she sets foot on Dongyang territory again, it’s highly likely a red alarm would go off in the police bureau, quickly drawing undercover police surveillance.

Under such circumstances, openly entering Dongyang and attempting to steal artifacts is certainly impossible, so such matters need to be considered long-term.

Now the focus is still on Saiji; her group is gone, leaving Saiji as a lone figure, no different from a lonely ghost, naturally feeling down.

Huo Sining tried comforting for a while but saw no effect, so she changed her thinking, recalling the Green Feng Line Snake she stored in Space, and with a thought, she waved and released the Old Snake.

The snake had initially planned to ambush Huo Sining, but before it could act, Huo Sining captured it. Now suddenly released, it had no time to react, feeling as if one moment it was frolicking in the sea, and the next appearing on the reef, bewildered by the sudden change.

When Saiji saw Huo Sining’s action, she understood what had happened in the sea earlier, and seeing Grandfather Jiashu thrown on the reef looking puzzled, she forgot her sadness and hurriedly comforted the old man:

“Grandfather Jiashu, don’t be nervous, these people are my friends, they mean no harm.”

The snake instinctively curled up on the reef, forming a circle, but hearing Saiji’s words, it paused, and flicking its tongue, turned its eyes towards the trio.

It seemed to sniff the special scent from the trio, cautiously examining while inching closer to sniff the trio’s scent.

Huo Sining and the two allowed the Old Snake to inspect, and after a while, it turned back and hissed at Saiji, seemingly asking something.

Saiji paused, then nodded: “You smelled it? That’s amazing; yes, they are Jiaoren (Merfolk), pure, unlike me.”

The snake appeared somewhat surprised, turned back with a peculiar gaze and glanced at the trio again, then slightly shook its head and body, continuing the conversation with Saiji.

“I and Siren were captured by a Taoist, Siren…was killed by that Taoist…”

“I was locked in an ancient tomb, that Taoist used me as the core to activate the array, I was trapped in that array for seventeen hundred years. Had I not met these folks, I would still be confined in that tomb.”

“Don’t be fooled by my unchanged appearance from seventeen hundred years ago; back then, trapped in the tomb, I cried out to the heavens and the earth but received no help, seeing no end. I never imagined I would see daylight again.”

“But unexpectedly, after managing to return, fate plays such a huge joke on me.”

“Grandfather Jiashu, I don’t feel fortunate at all…Rather…I would prefer…like Siren, to die directly, better than to live like this, a walking corpse…”

Though none understood the hissing of the Old Snake, from Saiji’s replies, one could glean much of what was being discussed.

Huo Sining felt the deathly aura in Saiji’s words, feeling uneasy, she couldn’t help but open her mouth:

“Are you really content? Those Dongyang people harmed your people, won’t you seek revenge? Your people endured so much pain before death, and surely died with unresolved grievances. Don’t you want to avenge them?”

Huo Sining knew that using conventional methods to revive Saiji’s spirits would be fruitless, hence she took a different approach, using the extermination of her people to provoke her.
