Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 748: Chapter 744: Asking for a Little Extra

However, Huo Sining had already set her sights on two pieces of rough jade, and naturally, she wouldn’t let anyone snatch them away. So she said with a smile:

”Boss Qi, even clothes can be haggled over, and your price is too high. I won’t cut it down too much, just 10,000 yuan per kilogram and it’s a deal. What do you say?”

Not too much? Not only the shopkeeper but also Yue Meijun standing nearby had her expression turn a bit peculiar, let alone Wang Kaiwen who never haggled when shopping. Huo Sining had cut the price from 20,000 to 10,000 yuan straight away; she was indeed ruthless.

”Miss, cutting the price by so much at once, I’d be selling at a loss. 10,000 yuan is really too little; 15,000 is my rock-bottom price.”

The shopkeeper was somewhat bemused; he had thought Huo Sining was a novice unaware of the market, where he could take the opportunity to make a good profit, but never expected that Huo Sining, not only clueless about stone gambling, was even more skilled at bargaining than he had imagined.

”15,000 is truly too expensive, 12,000 at most.”

Huo Sining shook her head, casually picked out a square cut piece of rough jade from the pile, moved it aside, and said with a smile:

”Stop it, boss. If it’s 12,000 yuan per kilogram, I’ll buy this piece. If you raise the price again, I won’t take it.”

Boss Qi glanced at the stone, pretending to be heartbroken: ”At 12,000, I really am selling at a loss. If it weren’t for the fact that you’re giving my business a try for the first time with Boss Wang, I definitely wouldn’t sell it at this price. Let it be, let it be, 12,000 it is then. I wish you a winning start with a booming opener. Xiao Liu, come help this miss carry the stone there for weighing.”

The assistant sitting nearby heard this and quickly came over to lift the stone Huo Sining had picked out and placed it on the scales nearby.

The stone weighed five kilograms, and after the shopkeeper crunched the numbers on the abacus, he looked at Huo Sining and asked with a smile, ”120,000, miss, will you pay with cash or card?”

Of course, by card; who carries around more than 100,000 yuan in cash? Huo Sining had cash in her storage ring, but she was afraid of frightening people by taking it out.

After following Boss Qi to the counter and swiping her card, Huo Sining suddenly went back to the pile of stones, picked up a less than one-kilogram, dark and slick stone, lifted it in her hand, and, smiling at Boss Qi, she said:

”Boss, how about you gift me this stone as a little extra?”

Uh...

Boss Qi’s face twisted into a frown as if he was about to squeeze out bitter tears.

All the deals made at his shop involved tens of thousands yuan. Previously, the men who did business with him never bargained even if he quoted astronomical prices, but this girl not only bargained when buying rough jade but also wanted a bonus.

Having been in business for so long, it was the first time Boss Qi had heard of someone asking for something extra in stone gambling. Was this even a way to do business?

Yet Huo Sining was rather insistent: ”Look, this stone is so small, it’s even less than one kilogram. I and Boss Wang have done business with you for more than a million yuan, giving me such a small stone as a gift wouldn’t be too much, would it?”

Boss Qi looked at the rough stone in Huo Sining’s hand, then at Huo Sining herself, and couldn’t fathom why such a delicate-looking girl, dressed decently, would haggle over a stone to the point of even asking for a little something extra.

The keen-eyed employee beside him noticed the moment Huo Sining picked up the rough stone that it had been flipped out from behind the warehouse door. He immediately sidled up to Boss Qi and whispered in his ear.

”Boss, that stone was originally used as a doorstop, it fell out of the batch of bricks that were in the warehouse previously, not from the shipment we got this time.”

As he spoke, the employee also winked at Boss Qi, making a face.

To Boss Qi’s surprise, he indeed had a batch of brick stones in his warehouse that had been sitting there for several years without selling much. Recently, a friend had opened a stone gambling shop and was collecting brick stones everywhere, so Boss Qi decided to offload his stock in one go, selling it to that friend for fifty thousand yuan.

The stone in Huo Sining’s hand did indeed look like one of those brick stones, distinctly different from the batch that had just been shipped back.

A brick stone’s cost was only a few tens or hundreds of yuan. Boss Qi really didn’t care about such small items, and since the appearance of the brick stone didn’t seem at all like it could yield any green, Boss Qi didn’t mind at all.

Huo Sining’s persistence annoyed Boss Qi somewhat, but since one of the brick stones was going as a gift, he was, after all, a businessman. Even if he didn’t care inside, he had to put on a show of immense reluctance, and after much hemming and hawing, he finally waved his hand and said:

”Alright, alright, miss, you’ve scared me into submission. For the sake of Boss Wang, I’ll give you this stone. Business is about repeated interactions; you should come back to do more business with old Qi.”

Huo Sining was immediately delighted upon hearing this, quickly picking up the stone and tossing it into her backpack, as if afraid Boss Qi might change his mind, the very picture of someone from the lower classes pleased with getting a bargain.

Since nobody here recognized Huo Sining or knew her identity, seeing her exhibit such a penchant for petty gain, they took her at face value and their looks towards Huo Sining suddenly flashed with contempt and disdain.

Kaiwen’s expression, however, was quite strange; while others were ignorant of Huo Sining’s true situation, he knew it very well.

Without mentioning the value of the Emerald Heavenly Bead and the exorbitantly priced imperial green, just the wealth that the Jade Beauty brand brought to this woman was enough for her to squander away.

Kaiwen had initially found Huo Sining’s sudden change odd, but now he understood that this woman, by posing this way, was actually playing possum.

If we were to really talk about net worth, Huo Sining might be counted as the wealthiest here in Boss Qi’s place.

Both Boss Qi and Yue Meijun had been fooled by her act, and while Wang Kaiwen couldn’t help but shake his head in private, what he cared about at the moment wasn’t Huo Sining’s act, but the two pieces of rough stone he had purchased.

”Qi Ge, I’ll have my stone cut here.” After putting away the receipt, Wang Kaiwen pointed to the two stones he had bought and said.

”Of course, Xiao Liu, help Boss Wang move the stones to the stone cutting machine,” Boss Qi said with a smile in his eyes, directing the workers to move Wang Kaiwen’s newly purchased rough stones outside the warehouse.

Seeing that Wang Kaiwen was eager to have his stone cut, Huo Sining’s lips curled up slightly, revealing a faint smile, and then she bent down to pick up the all-gamble rough stone she had bought, following behind Wang Kaiwen out of the warehouse.
