Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 735: Chapter 732 Money is Not a Problem

The home turf of Jade Beauty is in S City and the Imperial Capital, and those seated here have never heard of the brand; naturally, they wouldn’t know that Jade Beauty sells high-end jadeite in S City and the Imperial Capital, and there are hardly any ordinary jade ornaments.

”I have never been to S City, so I don’t know where Jade Street is. I think it would be better if, Jin Zhi, you part with your beloved pendant and let me have it. I’ll pay double the price, how about that?”

Yan Yurou didn’t outright say she wanted it but instead mentioned paying double the price, clearly intending to shame Luo Jinzhi in line with Shen Shanshan’s thought.

In her view, a broken glass pendant, at most, would only cost a hundred bucks or so; paying double for it was an honor for Luo Jinzhi.

Double?

Huo Sining almost couldn’t help but laugh out loud— even a standard jadeite pendant starts pricing in the thousands, let alone a Glass-Type Little Colorless. This was no ordinary Jade Pendant. Yan Yurou, with her frail guise akin to a white lotus, sure had a bold price to announce.

Perhaps to others, a Glass-Type Little Colorless might seem like high-end jadeite, but to Huo Sining, it was just a commonplace item.

In the basement now, there were over a hundred kilograms of raw Glass-Type Imperial Green, and she really didn’t value such a small Glass-Type Little Colorless pendant.

However, if a big fool was ready to come knocking on her door, she had no reason to push business away, right? Since Yan Yurou was sincerely interested and willing to pay double the money, Huo Sining, adhering to the principle that the customer is always right, had to satisfy the customer’s request.

”Miss Yan, are you serious about paying double the price for this pendant?” Huo Sining raised her eyebrows, watching Yan Yurou with a smile, her face showing not the slightest hint of annoyance.

Yan Yurou had originally just wanted to give Luo Jinzhi a bit of embarrassment, as she did not really value a mere few hundred dollars, but now that Huo Sining sounded so serious, she felt like she was on the back of a tiger, unsure of whether to proceed.

Turning her head, she saw that many in the class were paying attention to the situation here. Yan Yurou hesitated for a moment. After all, she had initiated today’s gathering, and as the saying goes, monks fight for incense, and people fight for a breath. She couldn’t afford to have her classmates think less of her.

With this thought in mind, Yan Yurou nodded, setting her mind on buying that broken pendant off Luo Jinzhi’s neck: ”Jin Zhi, I am sincere, I really fancy your pendant, please sell it to me. Money is not an issue, I’ll pay double the price, what do you think?”

Money is not an issue? A smile bloomed on Huo Sining’s face instantly, with double the price, Luo Jinzhi could make nearly a hundred thousand in profit. But attending a class reunion and stumbling upon such a windfall, who wouldn’t be happy?

Huo Sining turned to Luo Jinzhi and said with a smile, ”Jin Zhi, since Miss Yan is so sincere, it would seem affectatious to decline further. Miss Yan seems to appreciate beauty as well, so why not sell it to her? When we get back to S City, I’ll give you another one.”

Luo Jinzhi looked at Huo Sining and then at Yan Yurou, hesitated for a moment, and finally nodded.

”Miss Yan is a straightforward person, but I reckon you probably didn’t bring that much cash with you. I think it would be best to do a direct bank transfer,” Huo Sining suggested. ”Since Miss Yan wants to buy it, you should exchange money for goods directly—you hand over the cash, and Jin Zhi will hand over the goods.”

With these words, Huo Sining gave Yan Yurou a seemingly harmless smile.

This comment sounded a bit odd, not just to Yan Yurou, but even the others at the table showed a hint of disdain and scorn.

A glass bangle, no matter how expensive, wouldn’t cost more than a hundred dollars or so. Even at double the price, it wouldn’t exceed a thousand dollars. Could Yan Yurou really not have a thousand dollars in cash on her?

Yan Yurou naturally noticed the peculiarity in Huo Sining’s words, but she didn’t give it much thought. All she wanted was to regain her face in front of her classmates. Seeing Luo Jinzhi agree to sell the bracelet, she breathed a sigh of relief and without a second thought, said:

”There’s no need for a bank transfer, and I won’t haggle with you either. I’ll give you a thousand yuan right now—I have cash in my bag.”

Yan Yurou didn’t even ask the price of the bracelet and even thought to herself that a thousand yuan was a bargain for Luo Jinzhi. She immediately took out her wallet and started counting cash.

”What are you guys talking about?”

As they were discussing, the door was suddenly pushed open from outside, and a man walked in.

Yan Yurou looked up, her face broke into a beaming smile, and she hurriedly greeted him: ”Kevin, you’re here?”

Wang Kaiwen nodded and casually wrapped his arm around Yan Yurou’s waist, sweeping a glance over everyone in the room: ”Have all your classmates arrived?”

Yan Yurou smiled and said, ”Almost there, but it’s still early. Let’s chat for a while, and we can eat in half an hour. How does that sound?”

Wang Kaiwen nodded indifferently: ”You’re the host today, so it’s your call. I’m just here to pick up the tab. What were you talking about?”

Wang Kaiwen’s words were a boost to Yan Yurou’s ego. She beamed with pride, unable to conceal her sense of triumph, and pointed at Luo Jinzhi with a smile: ”I saw the pendant around Jin Zhi’s neck and thought it was beautiful. I want to buy it from her. I was about to pay when you came in.”

Wang Kaiwen wasn’t much interested in women’s topics, but since they were Yan Yurou’s classmates, he couldn’t be too casual. He feigned interest and asked: ”What pendant? If you want a pendant, can’t I just buy you one from a jewelry store? Why bother buying it from your classmate?”

Yan Yurou laughed, a hint of mockery flashing in her eyes: ”The pendant from a usual jewelry store can’t compare. That one Jin Zhi brought back from S City, she said she got it from a store in Jade Street called Jade Beauty.”

Yan Yurou’s tone was sarcastic, obviously intending to mock Luo Jinzhi. However, as soon as her words were out, Wang Kaiwen was taken aback: ”What did you say? Jade Beauty?”

Yan Yurou hadn’t noticed the change in Wang Kaiwen’s expression and nodded: ”Yes, that’s what Jin Zhi’s college friend just said. Is there a problem?”

Yan Yurou casually pointed to Huo Sining standing next to Luo Jinzhi. Wang Kaiwen’s gaze followed Yan Yurou’s direction, and upon seeing Huo Sining, his expression changed dramatically. He stared at Huo Sining, looking somewhat incredulous: ”Huo... You’re Miss Huo Sining?”

”You know her?” Yan Yurou, upon hearing Wang Kaiwen address Huo Sining by name, immediately became wary, her eyes fixed on Huo Sining with a sharp and hostile gaze.

Huo Sining was also surprised, but more than that, she was puzzled: ”Sir, have we met?”

Wang Kaiwen, hearing Huo Sining’s response, knew immediately that this was indeed the mysterious Miss Huo from Jade Beauty. He became exceedingly excited:

”Miss Huo, you may not recognize me, but I recognize you. A few months ago at Ruili Plaza, I personally witnessed you cut the Emerald Heavenly Bead. It was truly spectacular!”
