Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 743: Chapter 740 Blood Coral

Seeing Huo Sining safe and sound, Qin Shui and Luo Jinzhi finally let out a sigh of relief. They waited until Huo Sining came ashore before Luo Jinzhi asked with a hint of reproach,

”Didn’t you say you were just going to look for shells near the bay? How come you swam so far out of bounds? That area is the deep sea zone. What would we have done if something had happened to you?”

Huo Sining apologized, ”Sorry, I was having so much fun in the water that I forgot for a moment. It wasn’t until I had swum quite a distance that I remembered.”

Although Luo Jinzhi was scolding her, the worry and anxiousness in her eyes and eyebrows gradually faded. She looked Huo Sining up and down a few times to ensure Huo Sining was unharmed. Finally, she relaxed. Her gaze then shifted and suddenly noticed something held in Huo Sining’s hand. Her figure stiffened, and surprise flashed across her eyes, ”Ningning, where did you find this?”

Huo Sining was stunned for a moment and looked down before realizing she was holding a bunch of red coral algae that she had casually pulled from beneath a coral reef before she swam back to the coast of Youming Island.

”You mean this? I just pulled it from the seabed over there. Isn’t it beautiful?” Huo Sining smiled and proudly lifted the bunch of coral algae.

Since red coral algae was rare, Huo Sining was very fond of it. Therefore, when she left the coral reef, she specifically pulled off a bunch to take back as a souvenir.

However, Huo Sining clearly misunderstood. Indeed, Luo Jinzhi and Qin Shui were attracted by the coral algae, but not because of its beautiful appearance. Instead, it was due to the origin and value of the coral algae.

”You’re saying, you found this coral algae under the water?” Luo Jinzhi was astonished, her gaze toward Huo Sining filled with surprise and disbelief.

Huo Sining nodded, ”Yes, just about a kilometer away in that direction. There is a wide coral reef down there, covered with this kind of coral. I stumbled upon it while chasing a huge lobster, which looked to weigh at least fifteen pounds or more. But that creature swam too fast, and I couldn’t catch up before it got away!”

Huo Sining explained at length, but Luo Jinzhi and Qin Shui were not really listening to the rest of her words. When they heard Huo Sining mention that there was a large patch of such coral algae a kilometer underwater, both women immediately turned to look in the direction Huo Sining had pointed, their eyes gleaming.

Noticing the shock and delight in Luo Jinzhi and Qin Shui’s eyes, Huo Sining realized something was amiss and instinctively asked, ”What’s the matter?”

Trying to control her inner joy and excitement, Luo Jinzhi turned back to Huo Sining. ”Ningning, do you know what this in your hand is called?”

Huo Sining nodded, ”I know, it’s coral algae, right?”

Luo Jinzhi nodded, ”This is certainly coral algae, but it’s not ordinary coral algae. This algae has a more special name—it’s called Blood Coral.”

”Blood Coral?” Huo Sining looked puzzled. ”The color of this coral does indeed resemble blood, very vibrant. But, does this Blood Coral have some history or significance?”

Luo Jinzhi laughed, ”Its origins are mostly related to legends. It is said that Blood Coral grows by absorbing the dragon blood of the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea, and eating it can grant immortality. Although this is just mythology, the stuff of fairy tales, Blood Coral is indeed a wonderful thing.”

”Blood Coral is a type of tropical seaweed with very high nutritional value, forming under extremely harsh conditions; it grows in the untainted waters of the Southeast Sea where the temperature remains between 25-32 degrees Celsius all year round.”

”This seaweed contains a variety of natural, noble, and precious nutritional components, rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber, high-quality natural collagen, and marine enzymes, making it the most precious of seaweed ingredients.”

”The effective components of Blood Coral are several times higher than that of regular corral algae. Due to the stringent conditions required for its formation, it’s extremely rare, the finest among corral algae.”

Huo Sining looked down at the clump of seaweed in his hand, both surprised and astonished, ”So, this means Blood Coral isn’t cheap, right?”

Luo Jinzhi nodded, ”That’s also why I asked you so many questions just now. Blood Coral is in high demand on the market and is scarcely available; it’s typically priced at more than a hundred per pound. I have never gathered fresh Blood Coral Algae, but just by looking at the one in your hands, its quality is evidently good. Such coral algae definitely command a high price.”

Understanding Luo Jinzhi’s point, Huo Sining suddenly laughed, ”Well, in that case, tell your dad and Elder Sister Luo quickly. I reckon your second sister and Uncle Luo should be arriving soon too. In a while, I’ll lead the way, and you all can bring your tools to gather the coral algae together.”

Luo Jinzhi suddenly looked up at Huo Sining, ”But, this patch of Blood Coral was discovered by you, Ningning...”

Huo Sining immediately became amused, ”So what if I found it? It grows in the sea, and I can’t possibly take it back by myself. Jin Zhi, I know what you mean, but, don’t worry about it. Even if I knew what this stuff is, I wouldn’t think too much of it.”

Seeing Luo Jinzhi still hesitant, Huo Sining playfully winked at her, teasingly said, ”If you really feel bad about it, how about after we collect all this Blood Coral, you get your Elder Sister to cook me a few Blood Coral specialty dishes? I’m really impressed by your sister’s cooking skills; the Mindong specialty dishes are so authentic!”

His words were indeed truthful as Huo Sining loved Mindong seafood, and Elder Sister Luo’s cooking was extraordinary. These past few days, he had become addicted to eating seafood, and hearing about the benefits of fresh coral algae, his cravings surged; he couldn’t help but set his sights on Elder Sister Luo’s cooking once again.

Luo Jinzhi, who had been hesitant, couldn’t help but laugh at Huo Sining’s words, feeling very grateful to him in her heart; she then cheerfully responded, ”That’s absolutely no problem. It wouldn’t be difficult for my sister to prepare a coral feast for you, let alone just a few dishes!”

After Luo Jinzhi relayed the news of the Blood Coral discovery to the others, Luo Jinling and Uncle Luo, who had come by boat to transport fish, were also astonished. Very quickly, after transferring all the fish from the nets back to the big boat, everyone, without pausing to rest, geared up in full excitement, ready to plunge into the sea to harvest Blood Coral.

Huo Sining led the way, taking the five members of the Luo family and Qin Shui to the coral reef. All of them were skilled swimmers, diving down, holding their breath.

After busying themselves underwater for nearly an hour, when everyone was worn out in body and spirit, the ripe patch of Blood Coral Algae was finally harvested clean from the ocean floor.
