Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 734: Chapter 731: Made of Glass?

Huo Sining followed behind Luo Jinzhi in silence.

Noticing that the girl named Yan Yurou had persuaded Luo Jinzhi in just a few words and, when Luo Jinzhi wasn’t paying attention, made a gesture to Shen Shanshan, Huo Sining found it amusing. She looked the girl called Yan Yurou up and down with interest and suddenly let out a soft chuckle.

”Who is this?” Sensing Huo Sining staring at her, Yan Yurou raised her head in confusion, glanced at Huo Sining, and suddenly asked.

Luo Jinzhi knew Huo Sining had come here to meet friends and hadn’t planned on introducing her, but Li Jie, who was out of place, chimed in: ”This is Jin Zhi’s friend from S City, named Huo Sining, and she is also a university student!”

Li Jie intentionally emphasized the word ”university student.” Hearing what Li Jie said, Yan Yurou appeared somewhat surprised and scrutinized Huo Sining discreetly, still smiling, and asked softly:

”So you’re Jin Zhi’s university classmate, Miss Huo? Are you from S City?”

Huo Sining had long noticed that the people in the room looked down on Luo Jinzhi. She also knew they all came from well-off families. As a girl from a fishing village, Luo Jinzhi would certainly not fit in with these people. Now, seeing how Yan Yurou asked her question, Huo Sining understood her implication and laughed:

”No, my family is from Bashu, and I also come from a rural area.”

Huo Sining deliberately emphasized her rural background, and as expected, as soon as she finished speaking, a few people in the room exclaimed in surprise, their gazes toward Huo Sining becoming somewhat peculiar.

Yan Yurou’s initially interested expression turned into one of contempt and disdain. Luo Jinzhi wanted to speak up in explanation, but Huo Sining quietly tugged at Luo Jinzhi’s sleeve, stopping her.

To Huo Sining, Luo Jinzhi’s classmates were just a group of strangers. Huo Sining had no intention of deepening her acquaintance with these people, so whether they looked down on her or despised her, it was all the same to her; she was indifferent.

Since it wasn’t yet mealtime, Luo Jinzhi’s classmates were chatting in the private room. When Huo Sining and her group entered, the people in the room glanced at the trio and greeted them, indicating nothing more.

”It looks like you didn’t have a good relationship with your classmates in high school,” Huo Sining started, stating the facts calmly.

Luo Jinzhi’s expression became a bit awkward: ”In high school, I only knew to study, and I was introverted, rarely communicating with classmates.”

Huo Sining knew Luo Jinzhi’s character. This girl had strong self-esteem, but at the same time, her poor family background had given her an intense feeling of inferiority, so she was distant with her classmates, focusing all her energy on her studies.

But her classmates were different. Most of them looked down on poor students like Luo Jinzhi because of their superior family backgrounds. They also believed that a child from a fishing family, even after graduating from college, would only be a poor worker with no great prospects. Therefore, very few respected her.

Huo Sining smiled and said, ”It doesn’t matter, you are doing well now, and things will only get better.”

Luo Jinzhi wore a faded denim dress to the meeting. No one noticed when she entered the private room, but after sitting down for a while, Shen Shanshan not far across glanced over, her gaze landing on Luo Jinzhi and suddenly noticing the transparent pendant around Luo Jinzhi’s neck.

”Wow, Luo Jinzhi, that pendant on your neck is really pretty! Nowadays, the imitations are getting so sophisticated, this glass workmanship isn’t bad at all. Where did you buy it?”

Shen Shanshan feigned surprise, but her eyes were full of disdain.

In Shen Shanshan’s opinion, a poor girl like Luo Jinzhi from a fishing village definitely couldn’t afford a real jadeite pendant worth tens of thousands, and Luo Family couldn’t possibly give her such an expensive jade pendant, so Shen Shanshan subconsciously assumed that the pendant Luo Jinzhi was wearing was definitely a counterfeit.

Having just lost face to Luo Jinzhi, Shen Shanshan felt annoyed, and she only wanted to regain her composure and vent her frustration. Seeing the jade pendant, she didn’t hesitate to make a loud fuss, so that everyone else heard, aiming to embarrass Luo Jinzhi, who was fond of vanity, and have her ridiculed by everyone.

Sure enough, Shen Shanshan’s words successfully shifted everyone’s attention to the jade pendant on Luo Jinzhi’s neck.

With few men and many women in Luo Jinzhi’s class, where there are women, there is inevitably gossip and controversy. Those women, upon seeing Luo Jinzhi’s jade pendant, became as excited as if they’d been injected with adrenaline, chattering nonstop.

Luo Jinzhi wasn’t familiar with those people, and she didn’t care much about the chatter of insignificant people, but when Shen Shanshan said the pendant was made of glass, her face turned extremely peculiar, and she subconsciously looked towards Huo Sining.

Huo Sining had a smile on her face, but a trace of indecipherable light flickered in her eyes.

Glass workmanship? The glass wasn’t false, but sadly, it was missing the word ”type.” Although there’s only a one-word difference, the two are as different as heaven and earth. Glass imitation and glass-type jadeite look similar, but their values differ by more than a thousand times, right?

This Little Colorless glass-type jade pendant was a gift from Huo Sining to Luo Jinzhi, given to her as a birthday gift a few months ago.

This Little Colorless glass-type jade pendant was crafted by Yan Feng out of jadeite offcuts. Little Colorless jadeite isn?t as valuable as colored glass-type jadeite, and as the pendant did not use a lot of material, its value wasn’t too high.

Even though its value wasn?t high, this pure glass-type Little Colorless pendant couldn’t be compared to an ordinary piece of jewelry. Even if it were to be put on the market, it would be worth tens of thousands.

Yan Yurou also noticed the jade pendant on Luo Jinzhi’s neck, her gaze flickering, seemingly deep in thought.

”It’s indeed beautiful, Jin Zhi, your pendant is a spitting image of the real thing. Where did you buy it? I’ll go buy one for my aunt’s kid to wear.” Yan Yurou smiled graciously, yet the smile didn’t reach her eyes.

Just as Luo Jinzhi was about to explain, Huo Sining spoke up directly, ”I bought it as a gift for Jin Zhi, from a jade store called ’Jade Beauty’ located on Jade Street in S City. Miss Yan, if you like it, you can just go directly to that store.”

One sentence was enough to attract business to her store, why not do it? Huo Sining’s eyes twinkled with amusement as she winked at Luo Jinzhi.

There were not many among the seated guests wearing jadeite, and since Jade Beauty had been open for less than a year, with shops only in S City and Imperial Capital, it wasn’t famous in the domestic market.
