Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 730: Chapter 727: Estrangement

Huo Sining went to the Imperial Capital this time for two reasons: firstly, to continue recording the show ”Folk Treasure Hunt,” and secondly, she wanted to talk to Gu Xu about the Bloodstone Vein she had discovered in Changhua.

”You mean to say you’ve found a Chicken Blood Stone mine?”

Upon hearing this news, Song Hui was extremely astonished, his mouth agape enough to fit an entire egg.

Gu Xu’s face also showed a rare sign of unrest, ”Are you certain? Are you the only one who knows about this?”

Huo Sining hesitated for a moment before recounting the situation at the time:

”At that moment, Liao Song and Zhong Zifan seemed to be in a hurry to find an exit and did not pay attention to the difference in the cave wall. It was only when I noticed a crevice in the wall revealing that the color of the rocks was off that I took the chance to check quietly while they were not looking. I am sure I wasn’t mistaken, those rocks were definitely bloodstones, and their blood content was at least fifty percent!”

As soon as these words were spoken, the expressions of the two became grave. Both Song Hui and Gu Xu were not ordinary scions; although they may not have full understanding of the intricacies involved, they knew quite a bit about the twists and turns. A Dahongpao bloodstone mine with a huge content, if discovered by the government or others, was definitely not going to stay unclaimed.

But currently, this secret was in Huo Sining’s hands, and if managed well, it wouldn’t be impossible to take the entire Bloodstone Vein for themselves. If someone else were to reap the benefits, not only would Huo Sining feel discontented, but so would Song Hui.

”If you can trust me with this matter, leave it to me to handle.”

After a moment of silence, Gu Xu stared at Huo Sining and spoke with a firm tone.

Huo Sining was looking for exactly those words from Gu Xu. She was well aware that she currently lacked any power or connections except for money, making it absolutely fantastical to take the mine on her own. Her only option was to seek a partnership.

And the most suitable partner she could think of was none other than Gu Xu.

With the influence of the Gu Family, a bit of effort should be sufficient to secure the vein.

Huo Sining had no intention of going it alone; since it was a partnership, then they should share the profits fifty-fifty. With the Gu Family receiving a substantial profit, naturally, they would have no objections.

”Gu Xu, I am not someone who overestimates my abilities. I know that I cannot handle this matter alone. Networking is something only you can handle. As for all expenses involved, including the costs of locating and mining the vein, I will bear them. Once we’ve extracted from the vein, we’ll split it evenly. What do you think?”

Huo Sining spoke earnestly, but Gu Xu’s expression suddenly turned somber.

Gu Xu originally wanted to secure the entire vein for Huo Sining, but now Huo Sining had turned it into a partnership.

Although a Bloodstone Vein was a novelty for Gu Xu, it wasn’t something he regarded highly, and he hadn’t considered it a big deal. However, with Huo Sining’s proposal, it was as if she was treating him like an outsider.

”Look, sister-in-law, your words are a bit over the top. Apart from not having the marriage certificate, what’s the difference between you two and a married couple? Do you really need to make such a clear distinction? Although a Chicken Blood Stone mine is worth some money, Xu Zi certainly doesn’t need your share! Besides, after you get married, isn’t all the money still yours? Does it make any difference who holds it?”

Seeing Gu Xu’s expression, Song Hui knew instantly that Gu Xu was displeased and quickly gestured to Huo Sining.

Yet Huo Sining remained firm, ”This is no small matter. To me, money is just a string of numbers, and its plenty or lack thereof is insignificant. But nobody would complain about having more money. Moreover, if I could secure this stone mine and accumulate more wealth, I might be able to pursue other endeavors I have in mind.”

”Since I’m here to seek your help, let’s talk business as collaborators. Otherwise, I would have sought assistance elsewhere, not come to you.” Huo Sining’s tone was full of determination and insistence.

Gu Xu felt uncomfortable but he clearly understood Huo Sining’s point.

If he didn’t agree to cooperate, Huo Sining would definitely not want to trouble him further. Now that Huo Sining had the protection of the Zhou and Lu families, he was indeed not her only choice.

Moreover, Gu Xu knew Huo Sining’s character well. Since they were not yet married and not truly family, it was only natural that the girl did not trust him fully. Her ability to clearly delineate the personal from the professional was reasonable and fitting.

With that thought, Gu Xu didn’t hesitate and nodded in agreement.

Receiving Gu Xu’s affirmative response, Huo Sining breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that this matter had at least a fifty to sixty percent chance of success.

”By the way, who did you go to Changhua with? Wasn’t it just to buy a gambling stone? How did you encounter danger? Who could be so blind as to lay a hand on you?”

Only then did Song Hui realize that Huo Sining’s discovery of the bloodstone vein was because they had been kidnapped and taken to an abandoned mine. If Huo Sining and her group had not been able to cut the ropes and find an exit, wouldn’t they have been trapped and likely died in that cave?

”This must have been the work of Zhong Zifan’s uncle. He has run into some trouble lately, and that uncle is relentlessly pursuing him. It looks like they’re ready to tear each other apart.”

Huo Sining briefly explained, then suddenly thought of something and asked, ”Oh, by the way, I also bought a high-quality piece of bloodstone in Changhua. If you’re interested, I can share some with you to make a seal for each of you.”

”What bloodstone? It sounds mysterious?” Song Hui’s eyes instantly lit up with curiosity.

Huo Sining smiled and took out a smooth bloodstone of about one kilogram from her backpack: ”This one!”

This bloodstone was the one Huo Sining had bought in Changhua, the one she had extricated from the discarded material. She couldn’t resist returning to the basement the night she arrived back in S City to extract the bloodstone.

When she saw it through her Heavenly Eye Skill, Huo Sining wasn’t particularly shocked, but after extracting the whole piece, the visual impact of the bloodstone was even more stunning.

In Peking opera face painting, one of the most classic lines goes: ”The blue-faced Dorgon steals the jade horse; the red-faced Lord Guan battles in Changsha. The yellow-faced Dian Wei and the white-faced Cao Cao; the black-faced Zhang Fei screams ha ha.”

And looking at this Liu Guan Zhang bloodstone was simply miraculous.

The vivid and rich tri-colors didn’t appear ostentatious, yet they clearly displayed their distinctiveness. The colors spread across the stone like colorful clouds, making it hard for one to avert their eyes once seen.

With such extraordinary quality, having a master sculptor craft this material into an ornament would command a price of at least ten million.

Huo Sining no longer needed to worry about finding a master sculptor, with Yan Feng around. As long as she extracted good material, transforming it into finished pieces was almost guaranteed.

However, her original intention was to gamble on a piece of bloodstone for Su Zhongqing. Now with such a fine specimen, turning it directly into an ornament would somewhat contradict her intention. But if she were to make seals, this large stone could yield at least five or six small ones; so there would be no problem in giving one to Gu Xu and one to Song Hui.
