Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 720: Chapter 717 Chicken Blood Stone Trade Fair

The Chicken Blood Stone trade fair was bustling with activity in the Changhua Bloodstone Trade Plaza early in the morning.

The fruits of the farmers’ labor over the past half year were all to be traded in this plaza.

The trade fair only lasted for three days, but there was no sense of confusion in the eyes of these people.

Because the price of Chicken Blood Stones had skyrocketed in recent years, they saw hope for the future. As long as the quality of the goods was good, there was no worry about not being able to sell them.

Uncle Qi arrived at the county town early in the morning and made his way through a secluded alley into a small house, knocking on the door and entering.

”Boss Zhong, those goods you wanted have been shipped to Shanghai by express delivery as you instructed, and the insurance value was filled out to the highest amount according to your instructions. Here’s the receipt, please keep it safe.”

Qi Daming breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Huo Sining and the other two safe and sound inside the house.

They had left from his place the day before, saying they were going to climb Yuyan Mountain, but by evening, all three had not returned. Qi Daming found both Zhong Zifan’s and Liao Song’s phones were turned off, which made him anxious like ants on a hot pan.

Though he didn’t know the specifics, on the night they checked in, their car had its tires removed while it was parked in his yard, which made Qi Daming feel something was not right.

The incident with the car happened in his yard, and although Zhong Zifan wasn’t happy about it, he didn’t pursue the matter with him. Instead, he entrusted him to help buy Chicken Blood Stones from the village, which gave Qi Daming a vague idea of what might be going on.

After the three went missing after climbing Yuyan Mountain, Qi Daming immediately realized they must have had an accident.

He couldn’t sleep all night and, with his wife and son, along with two nephews, went to the mountains to search for them. They searched until ten o’clock at night but found no one.

Qi Daming was just a farmer and had never dealt with such things. Common folk like him didn’t know the dirty secrets of the wealthy. He had thought about calling the police, but after thinking it over, he decided to wait and see.

The next day, early in the morning, he received a call from Zhong Zifan. Zhong Zifan’s voice was tinged with fatigue over the phone, but he made light of the disappearance, simply saying that Huo Sining couldn’t adapt to the food in the village, so after they came down the mountain, they stayed in the county town and asked Qi Daming not to reveal their whereabouts.

Qi Daming naturally wouldn’t say anything. He was just the guide who led the way for Liao Song and Zhong Zifan; even if he was curious about the guests’ secrets, he wouldn’t pry. Seeing that nothing had happened to the three, he was also relieved.

Later, Zhong Zifan contacted him again and asked him to ship all the Chicken Blood Stones he had purchased from the village back to Fuzhou, so after finishing this task Qi Daming came to find Zhong Zifan.

”Uncle Qi, I really want to thank you for this, for all the trouble you’ve gone through, and I need to ask you for another favor with today’s delivery,” Zhong Zifan said with a smile. ”This is a little something for you, please accept it.”

Before Qi Daming could react, Zhong Zifan had already stuffed a bank card into his hands. Qi Daming wasn’t a fool; he knew Zhong Zifan was trying to buy his silence. He politely said a few words, but he did not refuse the offer.

Just then, Huo Sining walked out from inside the house, placed a wig on Zhong Zifan’s head, and pulled out a makeup kit from her bag: ”Come on, put on a little blush for a more realistic effect.”

Speaking, she pressed the powder puff onto Zhong Zifan’s face.

Qi Daming watched from beside them, Zhong Zifan’s face showing some embarrassment. He turned his head, attempting to dodge Huo Sining’s ”claws,” but Huo Sining was relentless. She didn’t stop until the powder puff had left its mark on his face.

”Boss Zhong, could you please cooperate with the procedure? Those people might come back a second time. If you want this trade to go smoothly, you’ll have to listen to me!”

Huo Sining spoke with feigned calm, seemingly admiring her handiwork. She scrutinized Zhong Zifan’s outfit from top to bottom and then gave a nod of approval, ”Not bad, but a touch of lip color would make it even better!”

Zhong Zifan’s already slack face changed color as his entire mouth drooped, ”Lip color too?”

Huo Sining’s smile held a hint of mischief as she nodded, ”This is an opportunity for you to perform, playing the role of a woman. Mr. Zhong, it’s a test of your abilities, let’s see if you have any acting skills.”

Zhong Zifan’s lips twitched, wanting to retort, but ultimately he resigned himself to being manipulated by Huo Sining and Liao Song.

Throughout it all, Qi Daming sat to the side, acting as if he was oblivious to the actions of the three, with just the faintest twitch at the corners of his mouth.

Around nine in the morning, Qi Daming arrived at the Bloodstone Trade Plaza with three extravagantly dressed women.

Yes, three women. Huo Sining’s make-up skills were quite good. After her handiwork, Liao Song and Zhong Zifan were completely transformed into women. If not for their overly stiff facial expressions, they might have passed for stunning ladies.

The group of four browsed around the square, where many tents were set up for bargain hunters, each filled with an array of stones, mostly rough stones.

At the trade fair, it was mostly gambling on uncut stones, although there were also some half-gambled rough stones with a window cut into them, but such stones were rarer.

After all, these goods were mined by the farmers themselves. Cutting them open was too risky, so selling them as rough stones was safer.

Whenever they found goods they liked, Zhong Zifan and Liao Song were eager to close the deal. After each trade, Qi Daming would accompany the owner to deliver the goods to the designated truck.

The whole process was carried out swiftly and covertly. Zhong Zifan and Liao Song knew that they were under the watch of Zhong Zifan’s uncle, so the quicker the trades, the better. It would be ideal to complete all the intended purchases that day, a quick in and out.

Even though Liao Song had known Huo Sining for quite some time, he was unaware of her Heavenly Eye Skill, nor did he realize her extraordinary abilities in stone gambling. Therefore, it never occurred to him to ask Huo Sining for help. After cautioning her a few times not to take any action lightly, he split up from her.

Liao Song was in a hurry to collect goods, and Huo Sining naturally didn’t want to hold them back. With nothing to do, she started strolling around the venue by herself, leisurely examining the chicken blood stone roughs on the plaza.

After wandering for fifteen to twenty minutes, Huo Sining caught a glimpse from the corner of her eye of two people at a small stall nearby inspecting chicken blood stone materials. Her expression shifted subtly—it was Liu Yuxuan and her father, Liu Yunhui, haggling with the stall owner.

Seeing that the two were heading her way, Huo Sining’s mouth twitched, cursing inwardly: Talk about a narrow escape!
