Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 736: Chapter 733 Quadruple the Price

”I also attended the Imperial Capital Jewelry Exhibition. The Jade Beauty’s set of the Twelve Beauties of Jinling was truly stunning, unforgettable upon sight,”

”Recently, everyone in our circle has been talking about the Jade Beauty, expressing great admiration and curiosity about Miss Huo. They all hope to get an opportunity to meet you. I never expected to run into you here!”

Wang Kaiwen’s face turned bright red, yet his eyes were sparkling. Looking at Huo Sining, his gaze was filled with admiration and respect. Coming across Huo Sining in such a setting was an unexpected joy and shock to him.

Huo Sining, however, did not expect that Wang Kaiwen would be her fan. Seeing his excited demeanor, she quickly spoke up with a slight grimace, ”You flatter me. It was just luck on my part. But the way Miss Yan spent a fortune so generously was indeed admirable!”

Wang Kaiwen was caught off guard by Huo Sining’s words, ”What do you mean by that, Miss Huo?”

Huo Sining smiled faintly, ”Miss Yan Yurou took a fancy to Jin Zhi’s jade pendant and has promised to pay double the price to acquire it. I got that piece from Jade Beauty, and it was meant to be a birthday gift for Jin Zhi. Although it’s not extremely valuable, it has its significance. But since Miss Yan sincerely wants it and even promised to pay double the market price, we are not so petty. Given that, Jin Zhi is willing to part with it to give Miss Yan some face.”

Wang Kaiwen was in a romantic relationship with Yan Yurou, and the two had met each other’s parents and were engaged. When his own girlfriend made a social faux pas, even if Wang Kaiwen was reluctant, he had to clean up the mess for Yan Yurou, ”This... Miss Huo, my girlfriend was just joking with Jin Zhi. Please keep the pendant for yourself; we don’t want it.”

What a joke, although Huo Sining said it wasn’t expensive, Wang Kaiwen knew the truth about her.

In her gambling match with the Gambling King’s granddaughter, Huo Sining had won big, acquiring both the Heavenly Bead emerald and the imperial green piece. With such family wealth and ability, the gift she would give Luo Jinzhi was naturally no ordinary item.

Nobody else might understand the pendant’s value, but he could tell at a glance that it was indeed made of top-quality glass-type jadeite. Although Little Colorless did not compare to the value of colored jadeite, it certainly wasn’t cheap. A pendant of this material, even if small, would start at thirty to fifty thousand in a jadeite store.

Moreover, Jade Beauty was known for its handcrafted artistry, and each piece of jewelry was a unique masterpiece, so the price would definitely be higher than that of other jadeite stores.

If it really were sold at double the price Yan Yurou mentioned, the pendant would cost a hundred thousand to obtain.

Wang Kaiwen’s expression soured when he realized Yan Yurou had caused such a scene at a class reunion.

Yan Yurou herself didn’t realize the gravity of her mistake. Seeing Wang Kaiwen block her from buying a simple glass pendant, her pride was wounded, and her face instantly turned cold as she insisted, ”Who says I don’t want it? I’ll buy it! It’s just a broken pendant, I’ll offer four times the price!”

Upon hearing Yan Yurou’s brazen words, Wang Kaiwen felt like he was about to pass out from anger. This brainless woman was practically hurrying to give her money away!

”Four times? Are you sure, Miss Yan?” Huo Sining asked with a smirk.

Yan Yurou, with a look of disdain and a mocking smile, said, ”What’s there to be unsure about? Luo Jinzhi, I’ll take that pendant!”

”Enough, even your tantrums must have limits!” Wang Kaiwen slammed the table and stood up, his face iron blue as he glared angrily at Yan Yurou.

Miss Huo’s mouth curled into a slight smile, but her gaze toward Wang Kaiwen held little warmth, ”Since Boss Wang is a fellow insider, he should understand the rules of the jadeite business. This jade pendant isn’t something we’ve been pushing to sell. Now that you’ve taken a liking to it and we have agreed upon a price, your refusal to buy is akin to slapping my face or toying with us, isn’t it?”

Shadows filled Wang Kaiwen’s eyes, but Miss Huo’s words were indisputably true.

Jade antiques aren’t like other goods; once word gets out that you’ve backed out after agreeing to buy, it’s not only the reputation of this jade pendant at stake, but also that of Jade Beauty, which is why Miss Huo placed such importance on this matter.

Still, the thought of losing two hundred thousand just because Yan Yurou ran her mouth made him extremely unwilling to accept it.

”Boss Wang should feel fortunate. This Jin Zhi piece comes from the hands of Master Yan. It was never meant to be for sale—it’s a special piece that I personally requested Master Yan to design. Had Miss Yan not genuinely desired it, Jin Zhi would never be up for sale. Genuine glass-type Little Colorless, perfectly transparent without flaws, not something an ordinary person could necessarily obtain even if they wanted to. The original price is fifty-seven thousand, and since Miss Yan mentioned quadrupling the price, I won’t ask for more—two hundred thousand will do,” Miss Huo said indifferently as if two hundred thousand was no different than twenty.

”What did you say?!”

Yan Yurou, who had been adamant about purchasing the pendant, was dumbfounded and couldn’t help but ask Miss Huo again, thinking she had misheard.

The classmates seated around, who had been watching the excitement, were also stunned, their focus shifting to the pendant around Luo Jinzhi’s neck.

”Miss Yan, it’s not that I’m asking for the sky. If it were just a low-priced imitation glass pendant, Jin Zhi would not have asked you to buy it; she would have simply given it to you without such fuss over money. You may not be familiar with Jade Beauty, but your boyfriend surely knows that this pendant came from my shop. If it were auctioned off, it would fetch far more than fifty-seven thousand. If Miss Yan isn’t knowledgeable in the field, she’s more than welcome to find an appraiser to verify its authenticity,” Miss Huo spoke tranquil, her demeanor and tone both gentle, as if she was at a disadvantage in this deal.

Even if Yan Yurou was naïve, at this point she understood that she’d been played by Miss Huo and Luo Jinzhi!

Yet what Miss Huo said was also true. From start to finish, Luo Jinzhi had never offered to sell the pendant; it was Yan Yurou who had insisted on buying it, even boldly declaring her willingness to pay four times the original price.

Two hundred thousand! Even for the Yan and Wang families, who were considered wealthy, it was impossible to just come up with two hundred thousand on the spot.

Although she was of age, Yan Yurou hadn’t gotten involved in her family’s business and couldn’t possibly gather such a substantial sum as two hundred thousand. Even Wang Kaiwen couldn’t immediately produce ten million; a company transfer would be necessary.

Standing in front of Miss Huo, Yan Yurou felt the sting of embarrassment. Her cheeks flushed crimson, at a loss while staring at the transparent pendant around Luo Jinzhi’s neck, neither able to buy it nor walk away.
