Urban Martial Saint

The Black Dragon was pierced through, and immediately let out a howl of pain, struggling with all its might.

Fu Qingping seized the opportunity, burst out from the middle, then swept his hand— the Giant Sword cut across the sky and hacked straight into the Black Dragon’s midsection.

The Black Dragon roared deafeningly, its waist almost severed. Dragging its mangled body, it fled at once, not daring to linger here for even a moment.

This scene left everyone below stunned. Especially the people of the Wanyan Family—who could have imagined that even when Fu Qingping was already on the verge of death, he could still grievously wound this Black Dragon?

While everyone was still in shock, Fu Qingping directly descended from the sky with the Giant Sword. The Giant Sword swept across, directly clearing out a swath of the Long-toothed Rat Swarm behind Ye Qing and the others. With such overwhelming power, no matter how many Long-toothed Rats there were, they were completely useless, and he simply carved out a path!

”Run with me!” Fu Qingping shouted loudly. As he rushed down, he grabbed Ye Qing in one hand. The Giant Sword opened the way ahead; he followed behind, dragging Ye Qing as he sprinted outward.

Everyone here might have been shocked, but they did not dare hesitate in the slightest. Opportunities like this vanished in a blink. So they immediately followed the path carved by Fu Qingping’s Giant Sword and charged outward. With Fu Qingping’s Giant Sword opening the way in front, they had nothing to worry about, and they broke through the encirclement of the Long-toothed Rats all the way.

Behind them, Wanyan Second Master bellowed in fury, commanding the Long-toothed Rats to attack. However, in front of the power of Form Transformation, these Long-toothed Rats were utterly useless, as Fu Qingping forcefully swept out a way through them.

Everyone dashed along the route Fu Qingping had cleared, and before long they had broken out of the Long-toothed Rats’ encirclement. Yet Fu Qingping did not stop; he led them in a mad sprint, leaving the area of Swallow Sea Valley altogether. The Wanyan Family’s people behind them roared madly as they gave chase, but there was nothing they could do. After all, the ones left on Ye Qing’s side still weren’t weak, so how could the Wanyan Family possibly catch up? Besides, even if they did manage to catch up, who among them could possibly fight Fu Qingping? So they chased for a while and then gave up.

Wanyan Second Master was the most enraged. He smashed his fist hard into the rock beside him and roared, ”******, how did we let that bunch escape?”

”How could Fu Qingping still have the strength to fight back?” Wanyan Hongsheng was also astonished, and asked from the side.

”Just what is the Corpse Ghost Dragon doing?” someone looked up toward the sky and asked in surprise. Under the Corpse Ghost Dragon’s duel, Fu Qingping actually managed to come down and lead those people in breaking through. That was truly strange. What on earth was the Corpse Ghost Dragon doing?

After a while, the Corpse Ghost Dragon also slowly descended from the sky. As soon as it landed, the Corpse Ghost Dragon coughed up a mouthful of fresh blood; it clearly had not suffered lightly. In its hand it was holding a scabbard—none other than the scabbard of the Minghong Knife!

”The Corpse Ghost Dragon is injured too?” Everyone was shocked.

”The Corpse Ghost Dragon’s strength is so much greater than Fu Qingping’s; how could it be injured?”

”I think Fu Qingping must have used a ruse just now. He must have deliberately let the Black Dragon swallow him, then counterattacked inside the Black Dragon’s belly. That Black Dragon is the Corpse Ghost Dragon’s Form Transformation power—if the Black Dragon is struck and wounded, the Corpse Ghost Dragon will be injured as well!”

Everyone speculated nonstop, but their guesses were more or less on target. Fu Qingping had indeed deliberately allowed the Corpse Ghost Dragon to swallow him, then used the chance to defeat it. And in fact, although the Corpse Ghost Dragon was injured, Fu Qingping was hurt even worse. After all, being swallowed by that Form Transformation power was not something one could bear lightly. Moreover, Fu Qingping had just unleashed his Beyond The Pinnacle-level power, and without the Minghong Knife’s scabbard, he was sure to draw Heavenly Retribution. So, as far as the Wanyan Family was concerned now, Fu Qingping was no longer a real threat!

After cursing furiously a few times, Wanyan Second Master finally calmed down. He ordered the Long-toothed Rats to withdraw, and at the same time instructed his subordinates to bring back those who had previously defected to them. Even though Ye Qing and his group had broken out, there were now only a scant few people left on Ye Qing’s side, utterly incomparable to the Wanyan Family’s formidable power. Thus, Shenchuan City could be considered to have completely fallen into the Wanyan Family’s hands.

Of course, even if they went to Shenchuan City now, they wouldn’t find much. Ye Qing had already sensed that this battle would be dangerous, and had arranged for his close associates to leave. Not only Ye Qing—even the Shen Family, Wanyan Family, Wu Family, and people from Sha Men, including those from Twelve Green Halls and the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, had all evacuated. In today’s Shenchuan City, they had no ties left, so they had no need to fear whatever the Wanyan Family might do.

Ye Qing’s family and friends had long since been taken by Li Lianshan and Black Bear to a safe hiding place. In this way, even if the Wanyan Family wanted to capture the people around him to use against him, it would be impossible. As for Zhao Chengshuang, he still remained in Shenchuan City. He was not afraid of the Wanyan Family; after all, he now held a high position and great power. No matter how great the Wanyan Family’s influence, they would not dare openly move against a police chief.

Just as the Wanyan Family’s people departed, there were still four men sitting in standoff on the mountaintop above Swallow Sea Valley. These four were Shijia Wuji and the two beyond peerless masters from the Sword Saint Sect. After they ascended the peak, they had never actually fought; instead they sat facing each other here, surprisingly at leisure.

Seeing the Wanyan Family’s people leave the foot of the mountain, the Third Sect Master of the Sword Saint Sect immediately gave a faint smile, looked at Shijia Wuji opposite him, and said, ”Looks like your people lost pretty miserably this time!”

”Really?” Shijia also smiled, slowly stood up, and said, ”Our people lost miserably, sure. But your Sword Saint Sect didn’t win either. We still had people break out, whereas your entire Sword Saint Sect has become someone else’s hired fists. If you do the math, you’re the ones who really lost completely.”

The two men of the Sword Saint Sect changed expression at once. The Third Sect Master drew in a deep breath and said in a low voice, ”Bald donkey, I’ve got no interest in trading this kind of nonsense with you. According to the agreement we made earlier, we didn’t take part in this battle, and neither did you, so neither of us counts as breaking the pact. Now, whatever you want to do, go do it. We brothers have more important matters to attend to, so we won’t be keeping you company.”

Once the Third Sect Master finished, he and the man beside him rose and left, not sparing Shijia and Wuji a glance.

Watching the two of them walk off into the distance, Wuji only then slowly stood up. He looked down at the Wanyan Family crowd withdrawing from the mountain below, a faint smile brushing his lips, and said, ”Everything’s been arranged, right?”

”Of course!” Shijia chuckled darkly and said, ”We’ve let those Sword Saint Sect people strut around for so many years; it’s about time they paid up. The Minghong Knife’s scabbard is already in the Wanyan Family’s hands, so we can just borrow their strength to deal with the Sword Saint Sect!”

If the Wanyan Family and Sword Saint Sect people heard what Shijia had just said, they’d probably be so furious they’d spit blood. It turned out Shijia had let the Minghong Knife’s scabbard be snatched on purpose—he wanted to use that scabbard to lure the Wanyan Family into going after the Sword Saint Sect. A move like that really was beyond anyone’s expectations; even Ye Qing and the others hadn’t had the slightest inkling!

”Good.” Wuji nodded slowly, lifting his gaze to the distant sky and saying, ”The Heaven Earth Man Three Gates are about to open. Whether we can stop this divine war from breaking out will hinge on this one move. I’m hoping nothing goes wrong.”

”I’m hoping for that too. It’s just… the situation this time doesn’t look too optimistic.” Shijia sighed, his face rarely showing a grave expression, and said in a low voice, ”Wuhua and the True Buddha have already gone to do their part. I’m just afraid that heaven’s will cannot be defied.”

”Men make their own fate.” Wuji gave Shijia a look and said, ”Enough. We should go take care of our business as well. In the next stretch of time, it’ll all depend on Ye Qing.”

”Let’s hope that kid doesn’t let me down.” Shijia also chuckled darkly, then left the mountaintop together with Wuji. Of course, there wasn’t a soul who heard what the two of them had said up there.

After the Wanyan Family’s people took Shenchuan City, they directly seized all three estates belonging to the Twelve Green Halls of the World Alliance and the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance. After a full day of turmoil, on the second night, Wanyan Second Master held a grand banquet in the main hall of the World Alliance’s main building, inviting all those peak masters who had just entered into cooperation with the Wanyan Family.

These peak masters had previously all belonged to the Twelve Green Halls of the World Alliance and the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance. Wanyan Second Master played the gracious host, entertaining them thoroughly. His words sounded extremely pleasant, but in truth he was all about winning hearts, wanting these people to work for the Wanyan Family.

Though every one of them felt unwilling inside, outside were the Wanyan Family’s several million long-toothed rats, ready at any time to swarm in and surround them. Under these circumstances, even with resentment in their hearts, they didn’t dare show a hint of it, and could only obediently echo Wanyan Second Master, agreeing to help the Wanyan Family in its endeavors.

After settling these people, Wanyan Second Master returned to the reception hall in the rear courtyard. Just as he stepped inside, Wanyan Hongsheng walked up to him and said in a low voice, ”Second Brother, two men from the Sword Saint Sect are here, and they don’t seem to have come with friendly intentions!”

Wanyan Second Master slowly nodded, a look of complete confidence on his face, and walked unhurriedly into the reception hall.

Two people were seated in the hall; they were the Third Sect Master of the Sword Saint Sect and another beyond peerless master. The two had never exchanged blows with Shijia Wuji, so neither of them bore a scratch.

Seeing these two men, Wanyan Second Master immediately smiled, clasped his hands, and said, ”Third Sect Master, Fifth Sect Leader, my thanks to both of you for stepping in so righteously to drive off those two old bastards Shijia and Wuji, so that my Wanyan Family’s plan could be carried out!”

Facing Wanyan Second Master’s smile, the two sect leaders of the Sword Saint Sect showed not the slightest hint of pleasure. The Third Sect Master gave Wanyan Second Master a sweeping look up and down and said in a low, cold voice, ”Wan Yan Number Two, the business with the three major organizations in Shenchuan City is done. Isn’t it time we talked about the business between us?”

The Third Sect Master’s voice was icy, his tone carrying an aggressive edge. Just from his voice alone, one could tell that this Third Sect Master truly hadn’t come in peace!
