Urban Martial Saint

The Reincarnated True Buddha is indeed the Broom Star; he still appears as a child. Yet, now no one can treat him like a child. Moreover, the compassion emanating from him naturally evokes respect from others.

Usually, the courtyard of this Reincarnated True Buddha is filled with many people listening to the True Buddha preach. Most are those whose martial arts are passed down from the Buddhist Sect, listening to him preach helps them enhance their martial arts cultivation level.

However, today, there isn’t a single person in the courtyard of the Reincarnated True Buddha. Even the Purple Robe Lama who usually guards this place is absent today; it’s unclear where he has gone.

Ye Qing observes the Reincarnated True Buddha and knows that he has been waiting for him here for some time. Therefore, Ye Qing doesn’t say anything and directly sits down in front of the Reincarnated True Buddha.

The Reincarnated True Buddha looks at Ye Qing, his expression more serene than Fu Qingping, Lin Xuan Yue, and others. Despite the chaos in the world, he remains calm.

”You are very worried,” the Reincarnated True Buddha says softly.

Ye Qing nods, and after a moment of silence, he says in a low voice, ”My master is even more worried than I am; I have never seen him so lacking in confidence. The battle with the Wanyan Family Sword Saint Sect is unavoidable now, and on Shenchuan City’s side, it’s unclear how many people will be wounded or killed this time!”

The Reincarnated True Buddha shakes his head gently, ”Why must there be casualties?”

Ye Qing looks at the Reincarnated True Buddha in surprise, not understanding what he means. With the battle imminent, it seems impossible not to have casualties.

”The Wanyan family’s goal is merely the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates. Hence, what they want are the Heaven Earth Man Tri-Map and the Seven Keys. Once they have the Seven Keys, they absolutely won’t kill anyone,” the True Buddha looks at Ye Qing and says. ”Because they still have to guard against the Church, which is always lurking around. In fact, for the Wanyan Family, neither Sword Saint Sect nor the three factions in Shenchuan City are true enemies; their real enemy has always been the Church!”

Ye Qing is greatly surprised, looking at the Reincarnated True Buddha. If someone else had said this, Ye Qing definitely wouldn’t believe it. But hearing it from the True Buddha’s mouth, he cannot help but believe.

”However, the Church has entered Huaxia so many times, yet the Wanyan Family has never acted against them. On the contrary, the Wanyan Family harbors ambitions, continually attempting to seize the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates, constantly scheming against Huaxia’s people,” Ye Qing looks at the Reincarnated True Buddha and says, ”No matter how I see it, the Wanyan Family doesn’t seem like good people!”

”I never said the Wanyan Family are good people!” The Reincarnated True Buddha chuckles, ”Actually, comparing the Wanyan Family to the Church is like comparing a wolf to a tiger. Both want to take over the world, both want to devour everything, both are ambitious. However, the wolf’s strength is insufficient, so it must ally with others slightly weaker to tackle the tiger. Therefore, before dealing with the tiger, you needn’t worry that the wolf will kill all its allies!”

”Oh?” Ye Qing looks at the Reincarnated True Buddha; this analogy indeed fits. Yet the True Buddha says not to worry, but how can Ye Qing truly relax? Given the current situation, how could Ye Qing not be concerned?

After a moment of silence, Ye Qing says, ”Why does it seem as though the Sword Saint Sect doesn’t even qualify as a wolf to you?”

”The Sword Saint Sect at most can be considered a clown!” The Reincarnated True Buddha says softly. ”Compared to the Wanyan Family, they still have a long way to go. The Wanyan Family has accumulated for a thousand years; do you think those thousand years were wasted? The Sword Saint Sect hasn’t accumulated for that long, and how can the strength of one person compare to that of an Imperial Family?”

Ye Qing is astonished; from the tone of the Reincarnated True Buddha, it seems the Wanyan Family’s power should be much stronger than the Sword Saint Sect. However, previously Ye Qing and the others were completely unaware of this. Moreover, the Sword Saint Sect had always been pressing the Wanyan Family, killing so many of them, yet the Wanyan Family never retaliated, leading people to believe their strength was insufficient. Now, it seems that the situation isn’t like that at all; could the Wanyan Family’s power truly be much greater? If so, dealing with them would be even more difficult.

Seeing Ye Qing’s expression, the Reincarnated True Buddha smiles slightly and says, ”Actually, in this matter, your thinking is a bit rigid. Many things don’t necessarily have to be resolved with force.”

”Then...is there another way?” Ye Qing looks at the Reincarnated True Buddha.

”As the saying goes, when the crane and the clam fight, the fisherman gains,” the Reincarnated True Buddha says calmly. ”You say the Wanyan Family and Shenchuan City’s side will inevitably clash, with heavy casualties. In fact, have you thought that this battle can be completely avoided?”

”How to avoid it?” Ye Qing asks hurriedly.

The Reincarnated True Buddha says, ”What does the Wanyan Family want?”

”What does the Wanyan Family want?” Ye Qing takes a deep breath and says, ”They have already taken the Heaven Earth Man Tri-Map and Six Keys. Now, the only thing left on Shenchuan City’s side is Zi Yu’s Sun Shooting Bow; what they want is Zi Yu’s Sun Shooting Bow!”

”That’s right!” The Reincarnated True Buddha says, ”If they get what they want, would they still start a massacre in Shenchuan City?”

”This...” Ye Qing furrows his brows, looking at the Reincarnated True Buddha and says, ”Are you suggesting that I give the Sun Shooting Bow to the Wanyan Family?”

The Reincarnated True Buddha looks at Ye Qing calmly, without speaking. Ye Qing’s brow remains furrowed; although he has always agreed with the True Buddha’s previous words, this time he feels uncomfortable. Just handing over the artifact like that, what’s the point of any effort?

”If the Wanyan Family unlocks the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates, various gods will wreak havoc on earth, and the world will be plunged into chaos!” Ye Qing says sternly. ”How can these artifacts be handed over to them?”

”But if you don’t hand them over, countless will die!” The Reincarnated True Buddha says, ”Moreover, if all the experts in Shenchuan City die, they will still get stolen eventually!”

Ye Qing frowns deeply, and after a long silence, he takes a deep breath and says, ”This battle, many already know what the outcome will be, yet they are determined to face it. If they aren’t afraid of dying, how could I be afraid of fighting? So many are watching me; how could I disappoint them? Unless I die, I will never hand over this Sun Shooting Bow!”

”Hahaha...” The Reincarnated True Buddha laughs and slowly stands up, ”With your words, I am relieved.”

”Ah?” Ye Qing looks at the Reincarnated True Buddha in surprise, unsure why he suddenly says such a thing. Could it be that his earlier words were just a test?

The Reincarnated True Buddha says, ”In the time to come, you might lose much assistance, and many things will require you to handle them yourself. I hope you can maintain your conviction, keep doing what you must. Perhaps your persistence is futile, but at least, you are the sole hope!”

Ye Qing is even more astonished, not knowing why the True Buddha says such words.

The Reincarnated True Buddha does not answer Ye Qing but instead walks to the door, softly stating, ”It’s time!”

”What is it time for?” Ye Qing asks in surprise; why is the True Buddha speaking more enigmatically?

”Let’s go!” At this moment, a calm voice also sounds from inside the house. Immediately, a monk emerges from within.

Upon seeing this monk, Ye Qing is stunned because this monk is none other than the Wuhua Monk he had met before.

According to Shijia’s previous explanation, this Wuhua Monk has notable origins; though he belongs to the Buddhist Sect, he is on par with Shijia. Moreover, his learning differs from Shijia, belonging to the separate main line of the Path of Bodhi. During the clash with the Corpse Ghost Dragon in Shenchuan City, Wuhua Monk helped Shijia intercept the Corpse Ghost Dragon, showing his strength isn’t weak.

However, the Wuhua Monk is known for being elusive, and after the previous incident, he disappeared entirely. Who would have thought he would appear here, alongside the Reincarnated True Buddha? It seems the two have something important to accomplish, especially after the True Buddha subtly probed Ye Qing with a few sentences, as if giving final instructions. What is their purpose?

As Ye Qing is taken aback, the Wuhua Monk has already grabbed the Reincarnated True Buddha, employing Qinggong to leave the courtyard. This is the first time Ye Qing has seen Wuhua Monk showcase Qinggong; his speed surpasses even the Purple Robe Lama’s, further astonishing Ye Qing.

With the two departing, Ye Qing has no time to inquire further. However, the Reincarnated True Buddha leaving with the Wuhua Monk is what Ye Qing had hoped for. Ye Qing originally visited to persuade the True Buddha to leave Shenchuan City, to avoid collateral damage. After all, this matter has no relation to Brahmanism. Now that the True Buddha has departed, Ye Qing can rest assured.

After standing in the courtyard for a while, Ye Qing prepares to leave but suddenly notices a note placed where he had been sitting earlier.

Ye Qing picks up the note and reads it, finding a few lines written: ”Remember, never hide the Sun Shooting Bow in the Demon Hideout Cave!”

This note is clearly intended for Ye Qing, greatly surprising him. It seems the Reincarnated True Buddha left it for him. But what does the True Buddha’s warning mean?

Ye Qing had considered that if Shenchuan City couldn’t secure the Sun Shooting Bow, he would hide it in the Demon Hideout Cave. After all, nobody can enter that cave. However, it seems this plan won’t work.
