Urban Martial Saint

Big Beard hadn’t been down for long before the man also jumped down. Of course, his situation was similar to Big Beard’s, colliding with the stone and wincing in pain.

However, they quickly spotted Ye Qing, and both became excited immediately.

”Mr. Ye, you’re here!” Big Beard hurried over and said, ”Are you okay? We were calling for you outside just now, but there was no response. We couldn’t pull the rope up and thought something had happened to you.”

Ye Qing waved his hand and briefly explained his situation. As for the Immovable Bodhisattva Seal, he didn’t mention it, only saying the place was peculiar, with mechanisms set up that trap you inside.

After speaking, Ye Qing looked at Big Beard and asked, ”Why did you two come down here? Where’s Fat Wang?”

”Ah, it’s embarrassing to say,” Big Beard sighed and said, ”We couldn’t not come down, and we still don’t know what’s going on with Fat Wang!”

”What happened?” Ye Qing quickly asked. Was there potential danger outside?

Big Beard recounted what happened outside to Ye Qing. Hearing that Fat Wang had jumped into the cave and the golden light started flashing, Ye Qing immediately felt uneasy. If Fat Wang moved something at that moment, couldn’t they escape? But would Fat Wang seize this opportunity? Or, given his curious nature, he might have already fiddled around inside, perhaps even in danger by now.

At this moment, a soft sound suddenly came from behind the stone platform. Shijia and Ye Qing turned to look, only to see the stone platform slowly shaking. It wasn’t long before the stone platform began to move open slowly.

”What’s going on?” Ye Qing exclaimed.

Shijia’s face changed, then he excitedly said, ”The mechanism... the mechanism is broken, the seal is broken! The seal is broken!”

Ye Qing widened his eyes in disbelief. The seal broke just like that? What happened? Did Fat Wang really move that thing over there? This dead fat guy, how could he be so lucky?

While Ye Qing was stunned, the stone platform completely moved aside, revealing a hole beneath it. Above the opening, a small tower about a foot tall was floating. No one knew what material this tower was made from, but it looked very delicate. The small tower was emitting bursts of golden light, giving it a unique sense of solemnity despite its small size.

”What... what is this thing?” Ye Qing asked curiously.

Shijia had already run over, grabbed the small tower in his hands. Once he had it, the golden light immediately dissipated, and it seemed ordinary, no longer possessing the solemnity it once had.

”This is the Immovable Bodhisattva Seal!” Shijia said.

”This is the Immovable Bodhisattva Seal?” Ye Qing was stunned. He thought the Immovable Bodhisattva Seal would be like the black steles he saw before.

Shijia said nothing and instead looked at the dark hole, frowning slightly. ”There is more down there!”

”What is it?” Ye Qing asked quickly, not finishing his words before a voice came from the cave: ”Hey, ow, ow!”

The voice sounded like someone bumping into something and complaining in pain. Most importantly, the voice unmistakably belonged to Fat Wang.

Ye Qing, Big Beard, and the others stared wide-eyed. How did Fat Wang end up down there? And the voice was getting closer. Was Fat Wang climbing up?

While everyone was in shock, a corpulent figure suddenly shot out from the cave, tumbling out directly. The situation seemed as if he had fallen from somewhere, yet he bounced out from beneath the ground, which was very strange.

Still, Ye Qing was quick-eyed and handy. Seeing Fat Wang emerge, he immediately grabbed his clothes and pulled him to their side to prevent him from falling back into the cave.

Fat Wang’s face was covered with several cuts, he had large bumps on his head, and he was holding a bright red stick-like object in his hand. Seeing Ye Qing and the others, he was first surprised, then curiously asked, ”Why are you here?”

”I should be asking you!” Ye Qing and the others said in unison.

Fat Wang looked completely bewildered, looked around, and then looked at the object in his hand, saying, ”I fell into a hole just now and bounced back out here. Am I seeing ghosts?”

The group was completely dumbfounded. The situation was just too bizarre. Falling into one hole and bouncing out from another part of the ground — they’d never heard of such a thing!

”That explains it!” Shijia suddenly became animated, walking over to Fat Wang and saying, ”You fell into a hole from that side and came out from this side. That’s normal!”

Fat Wang stared at Shijia for a while before saying, ”Fat Lord may not be well-educated, but you don’t have to lie to me like that! Not even a fool would believe you!”

”Suit yourself!” Shijia said. ”Do you know what kind of formation we’re dealing with here? You saw it when you came in; you entered through the Tai Chi circle hole. Do you know what Tai Chi is? It’s two opposites. So, these two spaces are actually two spaces back-to-back. The cave is the connection point between two caves. But, because they exist back-to-back, if you fall into a hole on that side, you spring out from this side. By the same logic, if you fall into a hole on this side, you will spring out from over there!”

Fat Wang and Big Beard stared blankly. Shijia’s explanation was beyond their understanding. Ye Qing, on the other hand, had some grounding in Taoist Formation research, and had heard of such things, but didn’t expect to encounter it himself.

”How can such a thing exist?” Big Beard said incredulously.

”Why can’t it?” Shijia glared at him and said, ”Just because you haven’t seen something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. There are many things in this world that can’t be measured by common sense. Just like the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates; if they didn’t truly exist, would you believe in such a thing?”

Big Beard shut his mouth immediately. As a tomb raider, he had heard of the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates and was naturally quite shocked. Thinking about it, since those exist, such a situation isn’t that astonishing.

”Fat Wang, what is that in your hand?” Ye Qing asked curiously, looking at what Fat Wang was holding.

”I don’t know. I saw it glowing in the chamber over there, so I pushed the stone platform to see if it’s worth anything.” Fat Wang swung the red stick-like object and said excitedly, ”This thing can glow, and it’s naturally formed. Do you think it could be a long gemstone?”

”So you were the one who moved the stuff over there!” Shijia suddenly exclaimed, exchanging a glance with Ye Qing. Both finally understood what had happened. It turned out Fat Wang moved the suppressed object, breaking the seal. Truly, it was luck. If not for Fat Wang’s greed, they might really have been trapped.

Ye Qing remembered what Old Wang Ba had said earlier, advising him to bring Fat Wang along. He had been puzzled about why Fat Wang, and not a master. Now Ye Qing understood. Perhaps Old Wang Ba had predicted that Fat Wang would inadvertently break the seal. As for not bringing a Peak Master, Ye Qing understood now. Even with many dangers on the mountain, whether common man or master, the result would be the same. Furthermore, if a master was swept by the golden light and faced danger, wouldn’t it be a waste of a Peak Master?

”What did I move?” Fat Wang, still confused about his critical act, looked bemusedly at Ye Qing and Shijia and said, ”Oh right, Ye lad, why are you here? Let me tell you, the cave over there seems to have the exit blocked, and I couldn’t get out at all. Jeez, it almost suffocated Fat Lord inside!”

Looking at Fat Wang’s expression, Ye Qing couldn’t help but chuckle internally. Bringing Fat Wang along was indeed a wise choice. Fat Wang was truly something like a lucky charm. Though dangers were indeed significant with him, they always managed to turn misfortune into fortune.

”Why don’t you try again and see if you can get out now?” Shijia said as he took the red object from Fat Wang’s hand, curious. ”Is this the object suppressed by the Immovable Bodhisattva Seal? What on earth is it?”

Fat Wang was clearly displeased at having his treasure taken but was too embarrassed to snatch it back. He then said to Shijia, ”Old monk, hold it carefully. My life’s happiness depends on it. If you break it, you’re responsible for my luxurious living!”

Ignoring Fat Wang, Shijia examined the object, suddenly frowned, and handed it to Ye Qing, saying, ”Ye lad, doesn’t this look familiar?”

”Familiar?” Ye Qing took the red object, looked at it carefully, and his expression changed as he looked at Shijia in surprise. ”This... this thing looks really familiar!”

”You think so too?” Shijia nodded, looking at Ye Qing. ”I think so too. Why does this look so much like that thing?”
